LandraceLarry So this is my first pure landrace grow and my first grow with regular, non feminized seeds. Bought these seeds on the Cannafair this summer directly from the breeder. If I remember right, Ryan from Love of Landrace said this strain is probably his fastest flowering pure African sativa strain. He did not recommend grinding the seeds down with sandpaper but leaving them in water a bit longer and to be patient. The seeds take longer than your standard hybrid. I guess my approach of growing pure landrace sativas in a tiny flowering tent is rather bold, let's hope for the best. Will have to train a lot probably.
Left the seeds for 24h in hydrogen peroxide and put them directly into soil. Took almost a full week to germinate, normally I need like 3-4 days. Very excited, hope this one is a female. I did a bit of a resilience test: I had two seedlings die in this soil due to damping off. So if this one survives the pathogens, I would say it is save to say it is rather resilient.
Custom soil mix as always, 60% light mix, 25% coco, 15% diatomaceous earth, worm casting and activated charcoal, layered so the deeper you go in the soil the more nutrients the plant gets.
Vegetation is done without a tent in the corner of my office in order to save space in the flowering area. I will grow this one for like 2-3 weeks and a soon as the plant is like 20cm, I will put it in flower by just removing the plant from my vegetation area after 12hours and putting it into a dark room for 12 hours. This way I can check the gender without risking pollination of my flowering plants.
LandraceLarry Unfortunately I over watered this plant before Christmas and when I got back from my family I noticed the plant standing in a small puddle of water. The plant has turned a hint of yellow and seems to be growing more slowly. Will give her another week in veg to compensate for my mistakes

LandraceLarry leaving her as it is for now, she has been 1 day in flowering now. waiting for the notorious flowering stretch. Until now there is almost no lateral growth.
LandraceLarry Have reduced PH level to 6. Plant seems to get a darker green tone, I guess the roots are starting to tap into the soil layers containing chicken manure and worm castings.
LandraceLarry Getting thicker, giving less nutrients

LandraceLarry She is getting really thick.
PROBLEM: I have misjudged the Lady's need for nitrogen and now she has way too much. Note to future me: If a pure sativa looks like it needs more nitro due to pale leaves, don't be fooled. A good part of these leaves are just staying a bright green until harvest, it's a feature not a deficiency. Seeing a similar development with the 80s Durban poison atm.
CONSEQUENCE: Plant has turned hermaphrodite. I flushed and plucked about 20-30 bananas three days ago but am not ready to let her go yet. I have removed her from my flowering tent and am keeping her in my veg area under 10 hours of light so she cannot pollinate any flowers. If she stops making bananas in 1or 2 weeks she may go back and finish in the flowering tent (with thorough inspections 2 times every day).
SHEET: Unfortunately one single pollen sack has already ripened and bursted open when taking the plant out of the tent. Ventilation was off though and it looked like the pollen dropped straight into a sink. So there is hope nothing has been pollinated yet. There was only one plant flowering anyways so even of something got pollinate, no big loss. This is actually an advantage to the perpetual rotating system I was not fully aware of. If I had planted and flowered all those plants at the same time, the damage would have been much bigger.
This one looks okay regarding how much I screwed her up. Barely any seeds, good amount of resin. I have just started a new one which is looking healthier, hope this will be the charm. Plant has some nice carrot like aroma mixed with a skunky stench. Will update one smokeable

LandraceLarry Decided to cut her since I don't think the buds will get a lot fatter under the veg lights. There were a few bananas still popping up so I kept her completely out of the grow tent these last 3 weeks.
Other people would probably have thrown this away, considering how much I screwed up, 15g of larfy weed is kind of okay as a final result.
Take away for future: never too much nitrogen with tropial satovas gain, 25%-50% of the normal need is more than enough. I will try to cover all nitrogen needs with chicken pellets and worm castings going forward.
Wow ๐ฎ๐ฑ this grow is looking beautiful! Youโre doing an awesome job from start to finish ๐๐ฅ Much love! Feel free to check out my YouTube page for grow videos and support ๐๐๐น
Hello! I wish you good luck on your grow. Iโm growing something similar from a seed I got from the local market. What strain will you say this is? Is it a landrace or hybrid? Iโm confused as my leaf stalk has started developing purple hues just like yours.
@Lucifer_777
, Hi, thanks. This is "Nigerian Sativa" from Love of Landrace. It is said to be a landrace, described as "pure West African sativa". You can find it here:
https://www.loveoflandrace.com/products/nigerian-landrace
I have seen 4 plants grown from these seeds so far, this is the only one where the hues are this purple. there might have been some nights where I accidentally left the window open in February and the temperature dropped a bit too low.
