Hello hello and welcome, to my diary! This run will be a Blue Dream Autoflower from FastBuds. She'll be sharing the tent with an Apple Strudel as well. I'm expecting a big yield from this one.
Blue Dream is one of my absolute favorite strains. It's been quite a while since I got these seeds, but I'm finally getting to grow one. Just one. I have two more seeds for a single strain run in the future. I can't wait to get started!
Anyway, this run will be Lotus Nutrients and Hydrogaurd. As well as Silica Blast. The lesson learned from last run was too much light and too much nutrients. I basically learned how to do the rest. Let's hope the pH stays within range for this run. Last run was ridiculous. Crazy wide swings.
Anyway, let's have some fun this run, huh?

I've decided to finish the Germination in a rock wool cube. She hasn't sunk yet, but it's still early. I usually wait for the seeds to sink before adding them to the plug, or in this case a rock wool cube.

So I'm having a problem already. Granted it's irrelevant at the moment or maybe even beneficial. I'm not sure. I can't get the environment to do the thing in the Germination System. It's at 68° and 88%. This morning it was a little warm in the living room, where the tent is, and the temp was good at 74° but the humidity was at 91% so I did what anyone would do and lifted the lid a bit.
Now the environment is where it's at. Mostly because I had to turn the heat down so my drying plants weren't out of range. I just added the fan to the top. The only problem is that it sucks all the warm air out of the enclosure. But the humidity is so high, it won't drop down enough.
I think I'm gonna have to take the dome off and try to start fresh.
I just grabbed my space heater and pointed straight at the System. It's about 10 ft away, so it's not getting a constant blast of hot air. I just want it to be warm air. I didn't take the dome off yet. I wanna see what happens.
Anyway, nothing yet. I don't expect to see anything for a couple days. Not really sure how rock wool works, so I don't know if it's a tigher squeeze, which it didn't feel that way, or looser. I did however, pinch the top trying to get the cube out of the tray. I wonder if that will make it take longer? I didn't punch it hard, but it took a little wiggle work to get it out.

We have poppage and a taproot! She should be standing up by tomorrow morning if not later this afternoon. Not much else to report today. Environment is pretty good. A little bouncy, but I also took the dome off to take the picture. It'll level back out in an hour or 2.

We have a baby! Yay! A baby giiiirl? Yes we do. Hooray!
Anyway, she popped out of the cube on both ends. Her tap root is already about an inch out of the cube while she is out of the top. Opened up and ready to grow. With the taproot already there, I might have to transplant her and her counterpart to the bucket sooner rather than later.
I have the light set to 18/6. The DLI is 12 mol. The light power is 6 under the dome. I'm using AC Infinity 11" supplemental lighting for the light source. They're made for seedlings and clones.
Temp and humidity are decent.
72.6° and 67.3% (a little low) it should increase over the next few hours. I had the light set to 3 while she was still under. Now that's she has popped, the light is up to 6 and 12 mol. Which should warm up the Germination System.
I added a little more water to the tray. That'll take a little bit to start evaporating. The goal is 75° and 70% respectively.

Whoops. In my defense I was in trim jail for most of the day. Nothing to report anyway.

Merry Xmas!
So I can't tell if she's leggy or not, but shes already 3 inches tall. Her leaves were praying a little bit, so I turned the light up to 6. Now she looks unhappy. So I dropped the light to 5. I'll hover over her for the next hour. Maybe it needs to drop even more because she is so close to the light now.
Anyway, the environment isn't bad. Not great, but not bad. It'll get better in a few hours. Had to replace the water. So the environment is all out of whack. The new water is like 66° it's gonna take a while for the heat pad to warm it up.
The water pH was up to 7, so I emptied the water out and replaced it with some pHed water. The rest of the previous water, it was also fouled. I tossed that jug. Something really weird happening there.
So we have an extremely healthy plant today. Hooray!
Update:
I've been watching her all day long and from what I've seen she's still stretching. Even with the light turned up. It doesn't make sense. I'm just gonna leave it alone at 6 for the next couple few days.

So someone in my apartment house shut the heat off last night or something because it was 53° in my apartment this morning. And of course the Germination System was also low. Like 66°. Unfortunately I don't have access to the thermostat and the people that do aren't home. So here I sit on my cold ass apartment trying to figure out a way to get it to warm up. I only have 2 space heaters and they just aren't doing the trick. My dry tent was at 50° this morning. I've managed to get it up to 54, but that's still super low.
Anyway, she looks good still. But I think she's working on roots at the moment. Doesn't look like she stretched much last night. Finally. Roots. I hope it's roots and not slowed growth because of the cold.
It also doesn't help that the room the tents are in is my living room with gaps in the windows and outer door. Big gaps. I can't wait to get into a more permanent place with sealed windows and doors. The annoying part is the heat will kick on at some point today and then it gets hot. But I have my AC in so that helps. I only use the fan. Unless it gets above 72° then the AC kicks on. I try to keep it around 67° in the apartment. It's currently 64° and windy out so all this winter air is blowing in. It's really cold air too.
That's all for now.

Too tall! She's just too tall. She's gonna tip over. But there is a really nice root base going. I really want to wait until she has a set of true leaves, but at the rate she's going and the fact that she is reaching so hard, makes me think I'm gonna have to put her in the grow tent very soon.
The light in the Germination System is set to 90% and she's still reaching.
Also like too tall! See picture. However, she does look fairly strong for such a lanky plant. Maybe they do this? It's blue dream, and a sativa, so maybe. The Apple Strudel in running is also a sativa and it's just as tall. Doesn't look it in the pic, but the cube is lower on the Apple Strudel.
Anyway, the environment looks good. A little moist, but good. Temp is at 76° and 80% humidity. I'd like to see the humidity drop about 5% 75/75. Lol. I wonder if that is a thing or should be a thing.
I digress. Looking good. Maybe she isn't lanky. But definitely really tall for her age. She gonna be a soccah playah. She is. She iiiiiiis. Get that reference? Put it in the comments. That would be hilarious.
So the decision I have to make is when to put her in the bucket. I really want some true leaves first, but she's getting too tall for the dome. Well, half way up. Maybe now she's 3 inches. Lol. It was 2.5 inches the other day. I measured. I haven't measured her again yet. But I will probably today. I just don't like interrupting the environment. Anyway, I did in fact interrupt the serenity. She's exactly 3 inches tall. Lol. So maybe not so leggy after all. It's like day 5 of life. If this is the case, then nice! Awesome. If not and she goes south, I have 2 more seeds I can pop. So I'm not too worried. I'm doing everything I've every read and implementing it. Reaching leaves? More light. Change water every few days pHed to 5.8. Temps should be between 70 and 80. Humidity. Well, no. It should be around 70% I guess? Mine is high. Good show, chaps!
Major update:
I put the little baby in the tent. The light just wasn't bright enough. So now I'm testing until I get less reach. Maybe 40% power? It's at that right now. I'm waiting to see if she levels out. There's also the Apple Strudel who is standing at attention. Maybe she'll level out too. Who knows. Never had this problem before. I'm shocked the lights in the dome didn't do it. Crazy. One would thing a seedling would enjoy that much light. And the fact that both of them did it tells me there just isn't enough power in these 11" light strips. Maybe for indicas, but definitely not sativa's. Or at least these 2. Lol.
