BettyFlores 26.12.2025 Merry Christmas 🎄! Exotic Seed gifted me beautiful seeds and now I had the dilemma of choice. I decided on the Zkittalicious and I have released 3 seeds for germination. I will plant 2 in soil and document here. If a 3rd seed germinates, I will raise it hydroponically. Keep your fingers crossed for me and Exotic Seed 🌸💜
30.12.2025 I spent the last two days in Amsterdam and when I got home this evening, they were born! And already so far along, all yellow and sad in their rock wool blocks. They are so beautiful and despite my travel exhaustion, I moved them into their little beds. They will surely recover very soon.
04.01.2026 Hey Grower Community!
A huge thank you to Exotic Seed for the sponsored seeds of Zkittalicious – an amazing genetics from Zkittlez x Blue Monkey, known for intense tropical fruit flavors, high THC levels, and massive yields. I'm super excited to see how these ladies develop!
Currently, I'm still in the propagation phase, but the girls are about to officially transition into week 1 of vegetation. All three seeds have germinated excellently and are already showing strong root development as well as the first true leaves.
Setup Overview:
1 plant in DWC (Deep Water Culture): The roots are literally exploding here – typical Hydro! The oxygen supply through the air stones is running perfectly, and the little one already looks stronger than the soil sisters.
2 plants in soil: Organic living soil mix with good drainage. They are growing a bit slower, but evenly and healthily – classically robust.
Parameters:
pH: Stabilized between 5.5 and 6.0 (ideal for DWC 5.5–5.8, for soil slightly higher towards 6.0). I allow a slight drift so that all nutrients are optimally available – no rigid adherence to a single value!
Temperature: Day 24–26°C, Night 20–22°C
Humidity: 70–80% (perfect for seedlings)
Lighting: 18/6 cycle with a gentle LED (about 150–200 PPFD, distance 50–60 cm to avoid stress)
Nutrients: Still minimal – just a light rooting stimulant and CalMag at half dosage. No overfeeding in this sensitive phase!
The plants look top-notch: stems thick and green, no signs of deficiencies or stress. The DWC lady is slightly ahead in growth, but the soil plants are catching up. Next week I will start with light veg food and maybe the first LST training to build a bushy structure.
And the little true leaves of the soil babes.
What do you think? Has anyone grown Zkittalicious before? Tips for the veg start in mixed mediums are welcome!
Stay green and happy growing! 🌱💚

BettyFlores 08.01.2025 Today marks the beginning of the first week in the Veg phase of my Zkittalicious plants, and I'm just over the moon! This strain (Zkittlez x Blue Monkey, 70% Indica-dominant) is already showing its potential – it's known for its vigorous growth, and I can clearly see that in all three specimens.
I have two plants in Soil (Light-Mix and clay pebbles) and one in DWC (Deep Water Culture). All parameters are absolutely in the green zone and match exactly the recommendations for the early Veg phase:
PPFD: About 200 µmol/m²/s – perfect for starting the vegetative phase without stressing the young plants. The lights are hung at the optimal height, and the distribution is even.
Nutrients/EC: In Soil, only lightly enriched, as the soil still provides enough nutrients. In DWC, I keep the EC at around 0.8-1.0 (about 400-500 ppm), pH stable at 5.8-6.0. No over-fertilization, everything is gentle and age-appropriate.
pH: Soil at 5.9, DWC at 5.9 – ideal for optimal nutrient uptake.
Height & Distance: Light distance perfectly set, the plants are stretching healthily without getting too tall.
Environment: Temperature 24°C during the day, 20°C at night, humidity 70%, good air exchange.
The two Soil plants are developing wonderfully: Strong, dark green leaves, sturdy stems, and already the first proper leaf pairs. They look robust and vital, just like in the strain descriptions – vigorous growth from the start.
The DWC plant is the absolute star this week! The roots are practically exploding, white and healthy, and the above-ground growth is even a bit faster than that of the Soil sisters. In Hydro, the genetics really show – it absorbs the nutrients and rewards me with explosive green.
I'm so proud and happy! No signs of stress, no deficiencies, everything is running on time and according to standards. This Zkittalicious is already making me crave more – I'm super excited for the next few weeks when they become really bushy.
Next week: Plan light topping and gradually increase PPFD.

BettyFlores 15.01.2026 The two Zkittalicious are still looking really clean in week 2 and are already showing why Exotic Seeds is highly regarded by many people.
Pheno 1
Classically sativa-leaning: longer internodes, slender and slightly wider-spaced leaves, lighter green, and very vigorous, upright growth. It stretches upward in a controlled manner without appearing thin or weak. Everything looks even and healthy – zero stress symptoms. The smell is still very subtle, almost nonexistent – just a hint of fresh green when you stick your nose right in. This usually changes later for Sativa phenos.
Pheno 2
Clearly indica-dominant habitus: shorter distances between the nodes, thicker and sturdier stems, wider and darker foliage. It's already building a compact, bushy base that will likely carry some really fat colas later on. Again: super healthy, strong green, no deficiencies or burn. Smell? Still completely inconspicuous – no cream, no funk, nothing noticeable. Just a very light earthy touch when rubbing the leaves.
Both plants have handled the light change without any issues, are drinking evenly, continuously pushing new growth, and simply look like they came straight out of a textbook. No tacoing, no curling, no yellow tips – just in top shape.
Current status: Both phenotypes have real contest potential if they keep this up.
Pheno 1 could shine in "Best Sativa" or "Best Structure"
Pheno 2 is screaming for "Best Indica," "Highest Yield," or even "Best Overall"
Just keep observing in the coming days, check the run-off, and boost minimally if needed. They already look really sharp.
Stay green 💪

BettyFlores 22.01.2025 Week 3 Vegetative – Zkittalicious (Exotic Seed) – Double Phenohunt Diary
Setup: 2× Zkittalicious (Pheno #1 Indica-leaning / Pheno #2 Sativa-leaning)
Lighting (dimmable) + 1× 300W DIY QB – currently ~380–420 µmol/m²/s PPFD middle of plant
Distance: 38–42 cm
Medium: BioBizz Light-Mix + 20% Perlite
Pot: 11 L plastic
Watering: Hand from below + above, pH 6.2–6.4, EC runoff 1.1–1.3
Nutrients: DutchPro 3 ml/L + Root-Juice 2 ml/L + CalMag 1 ml/L (finally consistent for a few days)
Temperature: 25.8–27.2 °C
Humidity: 58–64 %
Exhaust: 380–450 m³/h (regulated via controller)
Week 3 – The first real structure week
Finally, it’s starting to be really fun! Both phenos have kicked it into high gear and are clearly showing why Zkittalicious is so popular.
Pheno #1 – the compact Indica candidate
Showed that typical Zkittlez bush look before week 2: thick stems, very tight internodes, fat fan leaves with a slight bluish shimmer at the edges.
Topped the day before yesterday (removed 3rd node) → goal is a flat, dense bush with 9–11 main colas later. After topping, immediately started LST, gently bending the side shoots outward with my fingers. Already looks like a little green plate 😄
Pheno #2 – the stretchy Sativa lady
Much longer internodes, narrower leaves, overall airier and growing taller. The cardinal shoot (the main shoot) has been defoliated multiple times – only the really big fan leaves directly at the top were removed, leaving the small leaves and anything that casts shade.
No topping for her, instead I’ll probably try Supercropping + Main-Lining in weeks 4–5 so she doesn’t stretch too much.
CalMag disaster (slight)
I was too stingy with CalMag in the first two weeks (only 0.3 ml/L) because the water here has ~0.4 EC and I thought that would be enough.
Now the bottom 1–2 fan leaves of both plants are showing classic CalMag deficiencies: light green to yellow spots between the veins, lower third slightly wavy.
For the past 2 weeks, full dose 1 ml/L → hopefully that stops it. No drama, the upper leaves and growth points are perfectly healthy and lush green. Learning point: with Zkittlez strains, better to give 10–20% more CalMag than too little, especially in weeks 2–4.
Current photos:
Pheno #1 after topping + LST (Day 21)
Pheno #2 defoliated at main top (Day 21)
Close-up of new growth (both)
Lower leaf with CalMag symptoms (mild)
Next steps until week 4:
Prepare both for LST/Supercropping
Slowly push EC to 1.4–1.6 (runoff)
Repeat defoliation round 1 only for Pheno #2 if necessary
Maybe sneak in some first light bloom nutrients (BioBizz Fish-Mix 0.5 ml/L test)
The smell is already slightly fruity-sweet – reminiscent of candy + berries with a hint of chemical note. If this continues, the harvest will be really tasty!
Thanks to the team and everyone reading along – feedback always welcome! 💜
Stay green and good luck with your grows!

BettyFlores 29.01.2026 Light cycle: Switch from 18/6 to 12/12 done today
Plants: 2 × Zkittalicious (feminized)
Substrate: Organic soil with perlite and worm humus (my own mix)
Pot size: 11-liter plastic pots
pH (watering): 6.1
EC (current): approx. 1.8
Temperature: 25–27 °C (day) / 21–22 °C (night)
Humidity: 55–62 %
Lighting: 300 W
Distance approx. 60 cm
Current status:
Today switched the light cycle to 12/12. One of the two plants has reached a very strong height and bushiness during the vegetative phase and was close to touching the lamp – hence the early flip. The second plant is a bit more compact but is also developing very vigorously.
Both specimens have been intensively trained:
Topping (once or twice)
LST (strong bending and securing)
Main-Lining / Manifolding
Regular defoliation (removed large fan leaves from the inside)
Targeted supercropping at selected spots
The goal was an even, dense canopy and maximum light utilization. The larger plant currently measures about 35 cm (from the pot edge to the tip, measured stretched), the smaller about 15 cm. For week 4 Veg in 11-liter pots, this is very good growth.
Leaf health: Dark green, robust, no significant deficiencies anymore. In the last few days, supplemented with CalMag + Silica, as there were previously slight Mg symptoms at the leaf edges (due to rapid growth). Currently, the plants look vital and balanced.
Aroma: Even now, a distinct sweet-fruity scent is noticeable – typical Zkittlez with tropical candy notes, light citrus, and sour undertones. Upon closer inspection, very pleasant and promising.
Watering & nutrients today:
Last full Veg fertilization before the flip given. From now on, gradually switch to Bloom formula. Today only pH-adjusted water + root enhancer to reduce stress after the light change. Both pots were still moderately moist → about 800–1000 ml administered each.
Outlook:
In the next 1–2 weeks, expecting the first pre-flowers. Zkittalicious (Zkittlez × Blue Monkey, approx. 70/30 Indica-dominant) usually shows a moderate stretch phase (often 1.5–2×), but remains rather bushy and compact. Due to the intensive training, the height should remain controllable. Next steps: light lollipopping and possibly final defoliation in flowering week 2–3.
Goal: Dense, hard colas with high resin content, tropical-sweet aroma, and yield in the upper range (500+ g/m² possible under optimal conditions). Flowering time approx. 9 weeks according to breeder specifications.
Continue to observe and document. Wish me success for the flowering phase! 🌱

BettyFlores 05.02.2025 They are really doing great! Since I've started riding again, I haven't had much time to take care of the plants properly. And now I'm also sick and completely flat on my back. Last Friday, I did manage to top the oversized plant, and now it's drooping a bit. Maybe I can get to it tomorrow and trim both a little. I'll keep you updated.

BettyFlores 12.02.2026 The plants couldn't be more different, even though they are both the same strain. The Zkittalicious is really good for surprises. This time I layered some clay pebbles at the bottom for drainage help, and somehow I regret it, at least a little. I have to water much more often than without the clay pebbles 😅. The defoliation training method really exhausted the back plant; I topped it for the transition too, and now it has a ton of tops! The stretch is in full swing and will probably last a while; hopefully, they won't grow over my head. I'm actually really happy about all the tops though 😉.
Take care and happy growing

BettyFlores 06.03.2026 Unfortunately, I'm having trouble uploading photos and I'm not sure if it's a GrowDiaries issue? The photos will come as soon as the tech is working again.
The little Zkittalicious looks fantastic, frosty and resinous. The big one is struggling a bit since the DWC plant is taking up the whole space.
I need to find a solution for the upload problem first...

BettyFlores 12.03.2026 They seem to be ready for harvest; some trichomes are already amber. The buds are now swelling beautifully and becoming denser and plumper. It's also slowly time for this run to come to an end, as I urgently need the space for the next one.
The scent is simply heavenly, sweet and fruity, like cotton candy and roasted almonds. It's curious how differently the Zkittalicious' have developed. No two are alike, and each is enchanting in its own unique way.

BettyFlores 19.03.2026 The pictures are from last night because I'm still not sure if I'll harvest them today. Some trichomes are already amber, but many others are still not milky enough. You can literally observe how the milk rises in the buds. I'll check again today...and knowing myself, I'll be sitting here again next week still waiting 😅.

@Lotopharg, thank you so much! Yeah, I was initially so skeptical; it really seemed like everything was right and the seeds arrived very quickly. Hopefully, I don't mess it up now 😅. Thanks for your support!
@BettyFlores, how did you come up with using rock wool? So what are the benefits of that? I only know it from hydroponics, it's a bit unusual for soil, right? 🤔😁
@Lotopharg, I had a 2:1 soil and hydro setup. One is going into the bucket, so they all have to go into the rockwool. Additionally, I can place the cubes in the mini greenhouse on wet clay pebbles with a puddle and take off for 2 days 😊. Mini hydro system, or something like that. Rockwool is supposed to be sterile and breathable; somehow perfect. 3 out of 3 despite absence - copy that! 😅
@BettyFlores, So definitely don't take cuttings from the affected plant, but in my opinion, you can still smoke it. It's just one of the signs of such a virus; I just heard about it a few days ago in a podcast or interview with a Swiss person.
@Lotopharg, that's really exciting. Apparently, plants with these disturbances have more terpenes, more resin, and more yield. Wow, hopefully, I can get them all through! Thanks for your help 🌸
@Lotopharg, yeah, from the looks of it, I would have thought the same, but the trichomes are somehow at a completely different stage 🧐. They're done now. I really need the tent 😅.
