TheChillGrow Grow Diary – Day 0 (Jan 11, 2026)
Today I started 20 regular seeds using the wet paper towel germination method. The strains are a mix: Cheese, GPD, Green Queen, Krush Mint, and Pink Diamond. All seeds are regular, so I’ll be keeping an eye out for males once they show sex.
I placed the wet paper towels in a dark, warm cupboard to maintain gentle warmth and humidity, creating ideal conditions for the seeds to sprout. The paper towels are kept moist but not soaking wet to avoid damping off or rot.
Once germinated, the seedlings will be planted directly into 4 L pots filled with a custom soil mix: Culterra Potting Soil combined with Freedom Farms 70/30 Coco/Perlite. This mix provides good nutrition, aeration, and drainage, perfect for healthy root development.
My plan for this grow:
Veg stage: ~4 weeks outdoors under natural sunlight, allowing seedlings to develop strong roots and structure.
Topping: Above the 4th node, keeping 2 main colas and 2 strong lower branches, leaving all healthy fan leaves intact to maximize energy production.
Flowering: Move indoors under a 360W 3000K LED using a Screen of Green (ScrOG) style for even canopy development and maximum bud growth.
I’m excited to see which seeds turn out female — these will be trained and grown into strong, productive plants. The goal is quality buds with dense colas, making the most of the available light and pot size.
This is the start of the journey — Day 0! From here, I’ll monitor daily for root development, keeping the paper towels moist and warm until taproots emerge. Once they sprout, they’ll go straight into their 4 L homes, ready to grow big and healthy.
