Wojkers Time to start the new run. I didn’t take enough time for my last grow, especially toward the end. And to make things worse, I already forgot about the new run for a day or two.. Let’s go again with fresh motivation.

Wojkers Shame on me. The stretch is real πŸ˜… I gradually added more soil over time to avoid putting stress on the overly long stems early on. + I didn’t notice that a seed shell was stuck on one of the tiny leaves. So now one of the babies already looks a bit wonky. You might spot the troublemaker.

Wojkers Looks like they’ve bounced back just fine. The third one on the right is starting to stretch a little more than the others. I also topped all three for the first time this week. Let’s keep it going

Wojkers I’ve been a bit careless lately and left the lights running permanently for about 7 or 8 days without noticing. Luckily it happened during veg, but still not great. The plants still look okay, but leaf development and overall growth seem to be a bit behind. Not sure if it’s due to the nutrient deficiency or the constant light. I also started using LST clips this week, though probably a bit late.

Wojkersstarted grow question 5mo ago
Hi Growers, I’m using LST clips for the first time. I probably started a bit late but better late than never. Now I’m wondering, when is the right time to remove them? I assume it’s when the stem starts getting too thick for the clip, but I’d love to hear your advice!

I remove them once the clips start to get too tight. After a certain period of time, they should keep their shape

Wojkers Flowering Week 1 This week marked the transition into flowering as I switched the light cycle to 12/12. The plants responded well and the stretch has clearly started. Overall plant health looks good and conditions remained stable throughout the week. Temperature, humidity, VPD and irrigation pH were kept in the optimal range. Feeding was done according to the HESI soil feeding schedule. I removed a few yellow leaves from the lower part of the plants where needed. No major issues so far. Next week I plan to start more focused lollipopping and clean up the lower growth to direct energy to the top canopy and to improve airflow.

Wojkers Week 8 / Flower Week 2 The middle plant is clearly shorter than the other two, but after measuring PPFD this turned out to be no issue. Plant heights were left 59 / middle 40 / right 55 cm with lamp distances of 32 / 55 / 34 cm. The strongest light is in the center, and despite the height differences the average light distribution is very even. PPFD averages were around left ~400 / middle ~415 / right ~380, and after I raised 2 levels up to ~500 / ~525 / ~545 Β΅mol/mΒ²/s Stretch is slowing down and the plants are clearly moving into early flower. During the week I removed yellow and dead leaves and started lollipopping. The lower third was cleaned up and the left plant was lollipopped a bit more. The other plants will be cleaned up further over the next days I think, step by step. I also raised the middle plant slightly at one point to get it closer to the light and improve airflow, which helped after cleaning up the lower part. Watering and feeding followed the HESI schedule. The plants were watered three times this week: At the start of the week, about 10 L with nutrients. Mid-week, roughly 7 L of pH-adjusted water only. On the day of writing this report, end of the week, they were watered again with nutrients at half strength .pH around 6.0-6.5. Yellow sticky traps were added as a preventive measure. Overall I’m happy with how this week went. Everything feels well set up and I’m curious to see how the left plant responds to the more intense lollipopping, since this is the first time I’ve gone this far. I also want to dig deeper into the HESI feeding schedule, I think there’s some room to improve. Thanks for reading, if you made it this far. See you next week πŸ€˜πŸΌπŸ’š

Wojkers Week 11 since germination Flower Week 4 Day 77 This run was flipped early: no tie-downs, only LST clips and each plant topped twice. Otherwise they would have grown too tall. They’re already stretching more than expected again, especially the left plant (Plant A). The next time I use clips, I’ll place more than one per branch to push wider growth. Avg values: Day: 24 Β°C / 60% RH / VPD 1.07 Night: 19 Β°C / 63% RH / VPD 0.8 Start of week: 5 L without nutrients pH 6.31, EC 0.37, water temp 22.4 Β°C End of week: 9 L with 100% HESI schedule pH 6.5, EC 1.9, water temp 18 Β°C Middle and right plant were a bit thirstier Feed schedule: Bloom 5 ml/l Phosphor Plus 2.5 ml/l PowerZyme 2 ml/l Boost 2 ml/l SuperVit 3 drops/10 l PPFD 550-780 Β΅mol/mΒ²/s Height left plant 80cm, middle 55cm, right 73cm Lamp Distance left plant 33cm, middle 45cm, right 36cm Overall a relaxed week. I took many photos with a borrowed light and liked the results so much I ordered the same one. Usually I shoot on the last day, this time on day 75, so today by day 77 the buds are already a bit further. As mentioned earlier the left plant is slightly behind in bud production, likely due to stress / post-lollipopping reaction. Trichomes are becoming more visible and smell is noticeably stronger. Any experience with Jack Herer in a cooler environment? Could that affect trichome production? Thanks for reading see you next week πŸ€˜πŸΌπŸ’š

Wojkers Week 12 since germination Flower Week 5 This run was flipped early: no tie-downs, only LST clips and each plant topped twice. Otherwise they would have grown too tall. The left plant, plant A, stretched definitely more than expected, but she’s not too tall at all. The next time I use clips, I’ll place more than one per branch to push wider growth. Avg values: Day: 24Β°C / 58% RH / VPD 1.2 Night: 19,5 Β°C / 65% RH / VPD 0.8 I will increase the day temp to ~24Β°C Start of week: 9 L without nutrients pH 6.4, EC 0.36, water temp 18.6 Β°C End of week: 9 L with 100% HESI schedule pH 6.55, EC 1.75, water temp 18 Β°C Plant C right is a bit thirstier and needs more nutrients Feed schedule: Bloom 5 ml/l Phosphor Plus 2.5 ml/l PowerZyme 2 ml/l Boost 2 ml/l SuperVit 3 drops/10 l PPFD 550-850 Β΅mol/mΒ²/s Height left plant 86cm, middle 59cm, right 76cm Lamp Distance left plant 28cm, middle 31cm, right 31cm At the end of the week I raised plant B more to maintain a more even light distribution. Overall a relaxed week again. I mostly focused on keeping PPFD under 850 and maintaining at least 25 cm lamp distance. After the stronger lollipopping Plant A stretched more than expected and is slower in flower development. Roughly around a week behind the other two. Curious to see how that difference develops over the next weeks. Plant B is staying smaller/more compact than I expected, I placed a second spacer underneath. Plant C seems to have a higher nutrient demand now, my guess is because it was trimmed less, so it has more plant material to support. Thanks for reading, see you next week πŸ€˜πŸΌπŸ’š

Wojkers Dear Diary, this week was a bit hectic for me, so this update will be shorter and later than usual. The grow itself stayed pretty calm though. Avg values: Day: 24Β°C / 61% RH / VPD 1.1 Night: 20Β°C / 66% RH / VPD 0.7 Watering / Feeding this week: - Day 86: 5 L without nutrients pH 6.66, EC 0.43 - Day 89 evening: 6.5 L with 100% HESI pH 6.47, EC 1.9 - Day 90 morning: 3.5 L more from the same solution pH 6.82, EC 1.9 - I pushed nutrients a bit more this week - leaf color on Plant C already looks better again. On the next feed I’ll probably add 10-20% TNT Complex to slightly increase nitrogen - the smell is getting stronger, I mostly notice citrus

Wojkers Dear Diary, this is week 16 since germination / flower week 9. This update is a bit later than usual again, right now we’re already in mid Flower Week 10. The photos are from end of Week 9 / first day of Week 10. This week I added a few UIS wireless transmitters to my setup to reduce cable mess. It’s a really cool upgrade and makes the tent look cleaner, but it gets expensive if you want to connect six devices.. Avg values: Day: 23Β°C / 63% RH / VPD 0,97 kPa Night: 19,7Β°C / 59,7% RH / VPD 0,92 kPa Feeding / Watering: 16.03. pH 6.3 EC 0.4 pH Down 18.03. pH 6.2 EC 0.4 pH Down 20.03. 6l pH 6.3 EC 0.4 pH Down 20.03. pH 6.4 EC 1.8 100% HESI schedule I noticed a few small spots on some sugar leaves, but it didn’t spread further and seems to be under control. Besides of that the flowers are just getting thicker and heavier)) Plant A had the most aggressive lollipopping earlier on, it had more stress compared to the others and needed roughly about a week to fully bounce back. But currently it’s looking the most solid and is the least β€šfussyβ€˜ plant. Unfortunately she is, as mentioned, a bit behind in flower development. Plant B is overall more compact and smaller than A and C. Because of the shorter structure, internode spacing is tighter and it’s forming sweet colas despite the smaller size. Plant C had only light lollipopping and minimal defoliation. I left more side growth and smaller material on purpose to see how the buds develop compared to the other plants. We have a pheno which is listed around 10-12 weeks of flowering and it looks like we are right on schedule. The goal is to have mostly cloudy/milky trichome heads at harvest, with some amber and clear heads still in the mix. I'm checking trichomes daily, weβ€˜ll see, but overall I’m very happy with this run so far! thanks for reading see you next week πŸ€˜πŸΌπŸ’š

Wojkers Dear Diary, this is week flower week 10 / 17 since germination. The photos are from end of Week 10. This week I added a few more upgrades to the tent setup. I installed new mounting bars and added light bars in the corners to push a bit more light deeper into the canopy to support the lower / popcorn buds. Avg values: Day: 22.8Β°C / 50.9% RH / VPD 1.37 kPa / outside 21.4Β°C / 46.3% RH Night: 19.0Β°C / 55.4% RH / VPD 0.97 kPa / outside 20.7Β°C / 49.8% RH Feeding / Watering: I’ll add the exact feeding / watering values later At the beginning of the week I gave one last feeding at around 50% of the HESI schedule. From now on it’s pH-adjusted water only. The buds are getting denser and heavier now. You can also clearly see the flower structure, which fits my favorite pheno really well. The calyxes grow outwards and upwards in strings, giving it a somewhat spiky appearance. It’s typical for Jack Herer not to smell extremely strong compared to other top strains, but it definitely already has those spicy notes. The full aroma will come out properly after drying and curing. Plant A is a bit behind in flower development compared to the other two, but it’s definitely catching up. That’s not too surprising since it had the heaviest lollipopping earlier in the run. I’ll harvest all three plants at the same time - I think between week 11 and 12. Overall it was another good week. Thanks for reading, see you next week πŸ€˜πŸΌπŸ’š

Wojkers Dear Diary, this if flower week 11 / week 18 since germination. The photos are from end of week 11. Autumn has begun. The ladies have probably one more week before harvest. The new popcorn light setup is a nice addition, but for this grow it came a bit too late to make a real difference. The real benefit of it will show much better in the next runs. Avg values: Day: 22.6Β°C / 53.7% RH / VPD 1.26 kPa / outside 21.9Β°C / 50.5% RH Night: 19.3Β°C / 57.4% RH / VPD 0.95 kPa / outside 20.9Β°C / 52.5% RH Feeding / Watering: day 122: 7.5 L pH 6.53 / EC 0.42 day 125: 7.5 L pH 6.46 / EC 0.43 We have been using pH-adjusted water only since the end of Week 10. You can clearly see now that the plants are using up their nutrients. The fade is progressing more every day and it really feels like these are the last days before harvest. Plant A is a little behind compared to the other two in terms of bud development, so I want to give her a few more days if possible. If I didn’t have to harvest them all at the same time, I’d probably give her around 2 more weeks minimum. Overall, this run was kept on the cooler side and also with relatively moderate light intensity. Most of the time temperatures stayed around 23Β°C/24Β°C max. PPFD was also kept fairly moderate overall - from what I’ve seen so far, this probably didn’t help trichome production at all. Maybe the opposite, since Jack Herer seems to prefer a sunnier and more intense climate. Still, trichome development seemed a bit more noticeable again this week, which was nice to see. Everything looks good and I’m really happy with how this run turned out. We’re getting very close now and I really can’t wait to finally vape this Jack. Thanks for reading see you next week πŸ€˜πŸΌπŸ’š

Wojkers Dear Diary, well well well… this is flower week 12 and, unfortunately, also harvest week because of a mold issue. As they say, it often comes differently than expected. We made it all the way to the end just to run into mold in the final stage. Because of that, I had to harvest earlier than planned. I originally wanted to give them a few more days, mainly because Plant A was still a bit behind in flower development and I’m pretty sure the buds would have swollen a bit more too. Unfortunately I had to throw away a few headbuds just to be safe, and during harvest I broke apart every single bud to make sure I wouldn’t ruin the rest of the harvest too. Iβ€˜m pretty sure the reason was Plant B not getting enough airflow, and that’s where it started. Some headbuds from Plant B and C ended up in the trash. No mercy Avg values: Day: 23.2Β°C / 52.4% RH / VPD 1.35 kPa outside 22.9Β°C / 49.3% RH Night: 19.4Β°C / 47.7% RH / VPD 1.17 kPa outside 20.8Β°C / 44.7% RH Feeding / Watering: day 128 (3 days before harvest): 7 L pH-adjusted water / pH 6.52 Overall I’m still happy with this run, and once again I learned a lot. Just to be safe, I ended up throwing away well over half of the material because I was worried some parts might already have been in an early stage of mold. That really hurts in terms of yield, especially because this phenotype clearly had a longer flowering time. In the end, the total yield feels more like what you would expect from one plant, even though I actually ran three. It does feel a bit like some of the effort was for nothing, but I’m making the best of it and once again taking it as another lesson learned. Training-wise, the plants weren’t worked too heavily overall. Each one was topped twice, and I started using LST clips a little later than I should have. Plant C was barely trimmed, and I don’t think I’ll do that again. It showed more nutrient deficiency than the others and the buds didn’t reach the size I expected. Plant B stayed too small and compact and caused a big loss in the yield.. As mentioned before, I still don’t really see an advantage in running this strain at an average daytime temperature of around 23Β°C and 550-750 Β΅mol/mΒ²/s, but I’ll keep experimenting with that in the future. The next grow will JH run will be around 25Β°C. Drying / Curing: The plants hung drying for 5 days at around 19 to 20Β°C and 55 to 60%. Dry weight so far is 90g plus around one and a half jars of medium to good quality smaller buds that are not trimmed yet, another 20 g. Even with the mold issue right at the end, I’m still happy with how this run turned out. It wasn’t perfect, but it was honest, I learned a lot, and that’s what matters. Thank you for reading and for following this run, I really appreciate it. Maybe we can learn together from my mistakes and make the next runs even better. The next run is already starting. Two new strains from Sensi Seeds and one more round of our classic Jack Herer are already germinating, and I’m really hyped to try the new genetics. See you soon πŸ€˜πŸΌπŸ’š *Photos after curing will follow soon!

Love the red clamps, mine are green i can almost not seeing them and they get lost in there, great choice my friend πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š and looking good also keep it up πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š Growers Love πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š oh and just a friendly observation from looking at the canopy β€” take it only as a second set of eyes, not a rule πŸ‘ At this stage (week 5 veg, long light hours), the plant looks hungry, especially for nitrogen and overall base nutrition. The lighter green color and the way some of the larger leaves are fading before the flip usually means the plant is using more nutrients than it’s getting. What’s happening biologically: In mid–late veg, growth rate accelerates fast. The plant is building structure, vascular tissue, and future flower sites. When nutrients are a bit low, it will pull mobile nutrients from older leaves to support new growth β€” which is exactly what this looks like. Why this matters before flower: If you flip while the plant is already slightly underfed, that deficiency tends to carry into early flower, right when demand spikes even harder. Catching it now usually makes the transition much smoother. and please remember this is just my humble opinion, i know you did not ask for one but its stronger than me πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š What often helps at this point: β€’ Slightly increasing base feed (not a big jump, just a step up) β€’ Making sure root zone EC / ppm matches the size and vigor of the plant β€’ Watching new growth color over the next few days β€” it should come in a healthier green Nothing here looks damaged or unhealthy β€” just a plant asking for a bit more fuel before the next phase. You’re very close, and dialing this in now usually pays off later 🌱 Growers Love my friend and keep it up πŸ’šπŸ’šπŸ’š

Haha yeah, the red clamps were not a conscious choice at first, but you are right. If I get new ones, they definitely won’t be green) It’s actually my first time using clips.. they are interesting. way less fiddly Thanks for the input and the second set of eyes. Your observation is correct while they are looking way better right now. I flipped them to flower at the beginning of this week, adjusted feeding and spent a bit more time dialing things back in. Today I removed a few yellow leaves from the lower part. I’ll share a proper update soon) Appreciate the feedback πŸ’š
