schorsilla I first brought them from seedling to the vegetative phase using Easy Plugs and then into Living Soil when they had 3 pairs of leaves.

schorsilla I started LST in week 4. I've also decided I want to take cuttings from this phenotype ;). It's growing quite compactly—maybe I'll get lucky and have a "Red Baroness"

schorsilla There's something really special about her. Not only are the shoots so strong and she grows so compactly, but she also smells incredibly good :)! A deep, sickening sweetness :D I'm going to flip her as soon as the cuttings have rooted.

schorsilla My cuttings died. RIP. Those were my first attempts. I'll practice on another plant since I want to flip the NYC soon. Otherwise, I'll have a gap in my flowering/vegetative cycle. But something strange is happening here. I've never seen nodes like these before... and what's the other stuff? Flower buds or pollen? Did I overdo it with the LST? Is it too cold for her? I'll let her vegetate for a few more days and check.

schorsilla I flipped her four days ago. I actually wanted to wait and see how she grew... especially the nodes and the bumps next to them, but oh well. If she develops pollen sacs, I’ll just know sooner, and time is weed :D. She received a tiny bit of LST (low-stress training) to encourage her to grow wider during the stretch, giving me more light-covered area. The Blumat drip irrigation is taking a break for a few days; I need to rebuild the water tank, and I just don’t feel like it. So she’s getting unregulated tap water manually.

schorsilla The stretch is going well - I'm very satisfied. The strange nodes are just staying as they are, or the little bumps next to them are opening up - looks similar to leaves. But they could also be shoots or top calyxes!?!.. I'm curious to see what happens next and of course hope that it doesn't hermie. But I'm feeling pretty good about it :D. The soil seems to be working well too - I'm still watering myself out of laziness and saving the Blumat setup for a bit longer. So far, I haven't touched them except for the LST and removing 2-3 leaves. After the stretch, though, I'm going to give it a soft lollipop - I'm leaving the sails on.

schorsilla She had an amazing push last week. I'm super happy, now she's almost filling the 110x60x180 tent completely on her own. I just bought the 80x80x180 for the last grow, and the plants really love having more space. These nodes... just as long as a fingernail - I'm so excited for the first flowers. The super soil from Green Node seems to be working really well! Keep in mind that the plant has only been watered with tap water since the beginning - with a pH value of 8.1!

schorsilla She's doing very well ;). She's still stretching, but not as much as in the first weeks of flowering.

schorsilla Flowering day 34 - she is still just happy and shows zero stress. She keeps stretching.. I hope it stops now :D I've reached my maximum height and otherwise have to move the carbon filter. I went and got another pack of the soil today and I'm already starting the third one. Even though it's fun to play with boosters, the results with the soil are exactly to my taste so far. And it's super easy to water without pH correction.

schorsilla Still satisfied with the lady! But two things are bothering me: 1. The buds are beautiful, but somehow not much is happening with her right now. It's like there's some kind of standstill or buildup. 2. Her resin doesn't stick!.. and it doesn't smell and stays where it is. Like sandpaper..

schorsilla She got an update today. I bought another Fluxshield 300 (110w) and now there are 2 of them hanging in the tent instead of 1x the 160W Fluxshield version Babo E. I think the investment will pay off. She's slowly progressing with the swelling of the buds. I have patience and am really looking forward to the final result. Her cutting got a 30L Living Soil Root Pouch today.

I'm super curious about the result. I've only read a few times that the strain is a pain-in-the-ass to grow, but it looks good on your end 💪🏽
SleepyChow
SleepyChow commented5mo ago
@schorsilla, yeah that was also part of the reports😅 and a long flowering time, but you can manage that. maybe you can bend it a little bit more🤷🏽‍♂️ maybe a scrog would be appropriate for that cultivar next time. I'll definitely keep that in mind if the lady ever wanders into my tent.

@SleepyChow, I had more of those old-school foxtail fluffy buds in my last two grows and was initially disappointed - but the effect and taste somehow take precedence over bag appeal. You just get used to those nuggets from all the Cali weed.

SleepyChow commented5mo ago
@schorsilla, yeah, that's a shame... on the other hand, you can get nostalgic pretty quickly 😅 not only in the 2000s was a lot bred for yield, for example. Trends change. On the other hand, every strain has its unique features, but I think that with the ever-growing market, it’s becoming more and more homogenized. That’s why I’m always happy when real breeders are supported 💪🏽

Light leaks if it herms
schorsilla
schorsilla commented6mo ago
@Pmdda69, I don't think it's Herms. The buds open slowly and look like small leaves. The nodes just look very "unique" :D. But I'm keeping an eye on it. It can't really be light leaks—nothing has changed compared to the other grows.

4. The picture looks suspicious, but you're at 16 hours, wait and see how that spot develops. If those are really sacs, pinch them off with your fingers and check the whole plant.

@Momentum, I flipped them 2 days ago. Let's see what happens now, but if they turn out to be males, they unfortunately have to go.

You can totally see that the price-performance ratio is right. So you're well advised there :) Beautiful plant by the way 🌱
