MAY 20th
All are out of the soil as of today, May 20th,
I Gave them ph'd water at 6.5 when they were put in the soil and then a little water at 6.3 once they all sprouted (2 days after).
I'm considering the day that they all were sprouted as day 1 (May 20th)
Light used is the HLG 550 V2. it's dimmed to around 40-50% for the first week and sitting at 29 inches above the plants.
MAY 27th
I noticed at around day 3/4, that the plants were stretching pretty badly. the light was too high with the power too low.
I lowered the light to 26 inches and moved it to 90% power. the stretching stopped after that. they seem to be doing well after 7 days (May 27th)
Watered the plants every few days and only gave them about 100ml each time
Gave them their first feed on day 7 (May 27th).
calmag 2ml/g
micro 1ml/g
Gro 1ml/g
Bloom .5ml/g
ppm of feed going in was 326.
ph was 6.3.
May 29th, watered lightly. ph 6.3, no nutrients.
May 30th, added photos of day 10.
May 31. Same feed as May27th, ph'd at 6.3. ppm was 320 going in.
June 2nd. watered at h 6.3.
June 3rd. Noticed that Ginger punch plants are a little heavy on the Nitrogen (see day 14 pics). will skip a feed and water only for a few cycles.
My tap water is 70 ppm. I'm using 5 gallon pails to fill and let sit to dechlorinate and also get the water to room temp before I use it for watering/feeding.
Plants still continue to look a little Nitrogen heavy/toxified. Going to skip a few feeds and stick with ph'd water only until it clears up. lower leaves are dark green at the tips and clawing. that's what is making me think that it's early N toxicity.
June 5th - light water, ph 6.23. added calmag as one plant had rust spots showing on lower leaf. ppm was 312. (water is 70 and calmag made up the rest). Calmag is 1-0-0, so should make a big difference in my laying off of Nutes for a few days.
June 6th - light water, ph 6.29, ppm 70
June 8th - Nitrogen tox is pretty much gone (leaves not dark and clawing). went easy on the GH Micro nutrient to keep Nitrogen lower for this feed.
This strain seems to not need as much Nitrogen as previous grows/strains. Will keep a close eye on it to see if it's def or tox in the future.
gave feed at ph 6.31 and ppm 345
fed about 500-600ml per plant. should last a little longer before next watering.
June 10th - not sure why, but a few of the plants are droopy. The aren't thirsty, so I'm assuming overwatering even though I've been pretty careful.
I watered today during lights out and they were fine yesterday (praying and happy), Gave 400 mls per plant at 6.3ph. added 2.5ml calmag for 3 litres, ppm was 236.
Will lay off watering for a few days to see if they perk up.
June 11th - watered yesterday (500ml each), but they were pretty dry today. I think switching to grow bags and promix hp from plastic pots and promix bx helps dry things out a lot faster. I like this a lot better and makes it harder to over water.
watered again (550-600 ml's each) at 6.3ph. added 2ml per gallon of calmag again to help with a few spots on the leaves of one of the plants.
ppm was 163
plants are roughly 6.5 inches tall. Low stress trained today to start getting light on the lower growth.
didn't lst one of the plants as it's a little short and super bushy. I'll wait a bit until it's taller.
June 13th - watered 6.21ph. 5-600 mls each plant
June 16th - watered ph 6.24, 700 mls each. ppm 70
June 14th - feed calmag 3, Micro 1.5, Gro 2, Bloom 1 (all ml per gallon) ppm was 432. starting to ramp up for full flowering.
June 18th - watered at ph 6.26. 3mls calmag added to water, ppm was 201. 700 mls each plant.
June 20th - Feed calmag 4, Micro 1.5, Gro 2, Bloom 1. ph 6.29, ppm 521.
June 21 - Feed calmag 4, Micro 1.5, Gro 2, Bloom 1. ph 6.29, ppm
June 23 - Water ph 6.45 ppm 360 (added calmag at 3ml per gallon)
June 24 - Feed calmag 3, Micro 2.5, Gro 2.5, Bloom 1. ph 6.29, ppm 550
added the power to bloom powder. huge mistake. way too much for such small plants. it fried them.
June 25 - watered at 6.45 ph
June 26 feed c5m2g1b2, ph 6.5, ppm 634
June 29 water 6.5 ph
June 30 water 6.5 ph
The power to bloom powder was way too much for the plants and burned them pretty badly. laying off feed for a bit and never using that stuff on small plants again.
July 3rd - watered at 6.5 ph. added 3ml per gallon calmag. gave 1 litre per plant.
laying off of feeds for most of the week to help plants get over the overdose I gave them on June 24th. I used a 0-39-30, bloom booster and it caused a lot of problems. I won't use that on such small plants again. lesson learned.
July 9th - watered with ph 6.5, 1 litre per plant
July 10th. thirsty girls! Feed C5M2G.75B4 (1.5 gallons),ph 6.5, ppm 556
added pics of Day 51
Plants have recovered okay from nute burn on June 26th. new growth isn't showing signs of burn, but old burned leaves are still there. trimming them a little at a time to get rid of them since there's no point sending nutes to dead leaves.
stems have purple streaks in them (you can see in pics from day 51). not sure if that's normal or if they are needing some nutrient I haven't given enough of. Might add an extra feed this week to see if it helps. Still being careful not to burn them again at the same time though.
July 12th - Water 1 litre per plant. added 5ml calmag per gallon. ph 6.5
July 14th - feed C5 M3 G1 B4.5 (1.5 gallon of water)
