Week 7, from seed, moved from window sill veg into tent. Tops have been cut twice at this point for mainlining and are under LST with plastic/metal twisty ties.
This week was the final topping for plants #1 and #2 making them 8 main-tops. I left #3 at 4 mains because it was such a runt with a wacky surface root-ball I wasn't sure it could handle the 8 tops.
Grow is from seeds found / kept from high quality recreational cannabis purchases. Strains unknown. Plants are identified and tracked by numeric identifier (#1,#2,#3).
First entry of first grow. Discovered GD community week 10 of lifespan, 1.5 weeks into flower. Retroactive entries may follow. Grow is from seeds found / kept from high quality recreational cannabis purchases. Strains unknown. Plants are identified and tracked by numeric identifier (#1,#2,#3).
Coming along, #3 is starting to amber about 10-15% of her hairs. Trimmed up some fans to let the lower flowers join the canopy.
update 9/6
#3 is about 50% amber hair
update 9/7
#2 has gone sugar coated, looks about a week behind #3 in development. #3 looking good: my guess about 2.5 more weeks until ripe.
#3 is looking close to ripe, going to flush it with a bunch of water tomorrow and then let it get thirsty before chop probably within 10 days. #2 is sugar coated and still girthing.
update: ended up cutting down #3, it was ready.
#3 is now dried and curing. The weight was between 22 and 29 grams (weighed it at 29 after drying and put on screens. Weighed 22 after a few more days cure and vaping a nug with friends.). It flowered 6 weeks. Its a bit fluffier than I would have liked but for the first full grow it came out better than expected.
#2 is still flowering. Trichomes are -everywhere-. It looks like it was dipped in granular sugar. The buds are -fat- and just keep growing. The trichomes still look 60% clear and 40% cloudy and 0% amber. I used some sandwich bag ties to get some tension between the stalks to keep the colas from rubbing the tent walls with the exhaust fan/filter going.
So I grew #1-#3 from bag seeds, unorganized, unlabeled, and an unlikelihood of any 2 seeds being the same strain. #1 Ended up being a hermie 2.5 weeks into flower, bananas and everything. #3 turned out to be a 7~ week strain, end result left me desiring a little more out of the ''''''''''''''''bag appeal'''''''''''''''' or bud quality, but the smoke is solid and the high is good, so I''''''''''''''''m satisfied with #3. #3 yielded approximately 1 oz dried flower. I just finished cutting down #2 this morning and ended up leaving 2 nodes to encourage re-veg and returned the tent to 24 light hours. I haven''''''''''''''''t had any lab testing done, but based on personal experience and user knowledge, I hypothesize that #2 is actually Mother of Berries, a strain that as far as i can tell is not bred for seed and its origins are out of New England. So since that is likely a clone-only strain, I lovingly refer to my #2 as MoB; Maiden of Berries. I''''ll update a final dry weight post in about a week or so.
UPDATE: #2 ended up being 32.5 grams dry, putting the first grow dry weight total at 62 grams
Update retrospective: #2 was definitely -not- MoB. Still trying to figure out the mystery.
I smoke a lot of herb. My #2 plant is one of the best I've ever smoked, and I'm having a hard time believing it myself. It goes straight to the face, and hangs in your lungs, like a diesel, making any seasoned veteran squint who holds it too long.
@BigDaddyK, #1, #2, and #3 were each bag seeds I hadn't been too diligent with tracking, so they are unknown. Started with what I had on hand, moving into clones / know varieties for future grows.
Those are looking like they are finishing to be some very nice buds. A lot of bag appeal here on those buds. I can't wait to see the final harvest weight you pull. Looks like you'll have a good two or three ounces of quality bud.
