######## Welcome to my first grow with an LED growlight . I am using a 450w Viparspectra Timer control series and will be growing two Royal Queen seeds Royal Dwarf Autoflowering plants from seed to harvest. I was going thru my growing seed collection and decided to give this strain another go. Last time I grew it I raised 3 plants all of which were different in some way (phenotype) and had distinctly different leaves There was one pheno I particuarly liked that I'm hoping will show itself again this time. Hopefully this diary will help new growers decide if this type of LED is for you. let the fun begin 😀 ##### A brief note on my Diaries title ### I have no affiliation with viparspectra nor anybody who sells them ### I aim to do a full diary using the product and will give my opinion on the results regardless of results , however with only one CFL grow and a few Outdoor grows under my belt my opinion should be taken as you wish. ######### 😀

I decided on a Major overhaul of this grow as The original grow space was getting too hot and there wasn't really enough room. So I've ordered a 90x60x100 mini grow tent and also changed from my original plan of growing in coco to a dwc mini bucket system. The method I used to set up my buckets was as follows * Firstly I used a 3 litre capacity bucket with a lid , I then cut a circular hole in the lid to insert the plastic net pot which will hold the plant aswell as some clay balls. I also drill a small hole in the lid to allow some air tubing to fit thru which is then attached to a 3 inch aquarium airstone that will aerate the nutrient solution adequately, the other end of the air tubing is attached to an aquarium air pump. I also wrap some silver insulation material around each bucket to help maintain a stable nutrient solution temperature. I made up a 6 litre mix of rainwater 30mls of Professors nutrient part A and 30ml of part B 3 litres was added to each bucket I also insert an old piece of bath towel thru the net cup and let it hang into the solution. I then gently transplanted the baby royal dwarf seedlings into the net cup with the roots being surrounded by the clays balls which also act as support for the stem. The small piece of old bath towel acts as a wicking system to keep the roots moistened until they can grow down into the solution. 👌 Cool hey 👍 or am i just stoned 😆

The girls seem to like their new tent ( 90 x 60 x 100 ) much more than their last digs in the small cupboard. Whilst they both have about the same amount of root development there is a very noticeable difference in actual plant size between them. I guess some seeds will produce plants with more vigor than others ?????? 😏 I am planning on increasing the bucket size from 3 to 10 litres in the next week or so as I believe it could help increase potential yield. The viparspectra is set on veg mode brightness 50 and the plants love it The light is performing as it should Weak feeding schedule until they get a little bigger Cyco silica @1ml/litre Professors Nutrients A+B @ 2mls / litre seasol @ 0.5mls / litre

Ok week 4 is finished and You may have noticed the different bucket plant A is in? I simply moved her into a 10 litre version of the smaller bucket Plant B will also be moved into a larger bucket The Vipraspectra 450w dimmable is going great the fans are fairly quiet and I have the brightness at 100 I am anticipating preflowers this week as all of the diaries of this strain I have read began flowering during the 5th week so expect these two to be fairly much the same. I also purchased a cheap humidifier as I could not get my RH above 30 this run at about half speed gets the RH up to 65-70% I am very happy with the way the light is performing so far Feeding this week was as follows Cyco silica @2mls / litre Professors nutrients @5mls / litre Seasol @ 0.5mls / litre Peace be with you I hope you are liking my LED test diary so far 👊

Well what a difference a week can make 😃 I also moved plant B into the same size bucket as her sister (plant A) and she loves it!! 😎 Ive also seen the first preflowers showing up on plant B so she will really take off from now with Plant A hopefully not far behind. 😜 What I find really interesting is the clear differences in phenotypes of these two plants that are from the same batch of seeds. One plant (A) is a real hybridized Indica dominant looking bitch with those crinkly fat leaves and stocky stature. Plant B however looks a little like some of the more ruderalis dominant strains like a lowryder or something 😏 It will be interesting to see what becomes of each plant as the next few weeks come and go. 🙏 The light is still doing it's job nicely I will raise it's height a bit as the plants are getting taller I will also switch it to bloom mode Once I see flowering Very happy with the Viparspectra so far it is performing well Feeding this week Cyco silica @ 2mls / litre Professors nutrients A+B @ 5mls / litre Seasol @ 0.5mls /litre Once Again I thank you for reading my diary See you Next update 👊

What a difference in Phenotypes i have on my hands ............ Plant B as she is known around my place is well and truly keeping to her schedule and has been a good girl by producing some budlets 😁 However her naughty twin sister A has kept vegetating and getting fatter without a pistil in sight. This shits me a bit but what can you do 😬😂 I have switched the viparspectra over to channel 2 which is the bloom setting The brightness is at 100 and I can definately see more of a redness to the spectrum. Feeding this week changed slightly cyco silica @ 2mls/litre professors nutrients @ 3mls / litre seasol @ 0.5mls/litre And some Ozi Tonic @2mls / litre ##########Update 6/26/19 Plant A has developed her first preflowers so is aprox 7-10 days behind her sister I wonder if the extra veg time will have any major effect on her yield?? ################### Bloody hope so 😄 Thanks again for stopping by see you next week 👊

Plant A in the above pics has distinct yellowing of the leaves despite correct ph range of nutrient solution any ideas of problem/solution And is the same age as her sister who is well into flower. Remembering she's an auto would putting her in 24 hours darkness make her flower?😬

I recommend lowering the nutrients a bit on her and doing a water change, if you don't do 1 regularly. Doesn't seem like 1 deficiency. Could be excess salts built up in the reservoir locking out nutrients even though PH is in range. She seems stressed and that's why she is a little slower, that and pheno of course! Do the roots look healthy? Putting her in darkness wont make her flower any faster if its good genetics. Even a photoperoid 12/12 from seed wont start showing buds until its mature enough (typically 3 weeks). Guess that's why some growers dont consider flowering stage til they see budlets. Good luck and happy growing! 💪🍀

############ Plant A has exploded into full on stretch mode!! I changed out her nutes , was going a bit hard with the strengths so they were cut rite back to about half strength. 500PPM She is drinking up the nuts like crazy probably trying to catch up to her sister who is looking very nice. 😎 Plant B is a very fine looking lady , She is developing some nice sativa looking buds , no real smell yet she's taking a stronger nutrient mix than her sister about 1100 PPM Full nut changes due tomorrow 😀🙏👈 ##Update 30/6 changed nutes in both girls PPM is now 700

########## Another week done and dusted , Plant A is only just moving into flowering whilst plant b is busy getting sticky icky 😜😍 For those interested in the hydroponic element of my grow Plant A is taking lots of nutes she went from 700ppm 2 days ago to 480ppm today no ph movement Plant B was 700ppm and is still 680ppm ph went from 5.8 to 6 and is stable there. Feeds are cyco silica @2mls/litre professors nutrients @2 mls /litre seasol @ 0.5mls /litre and some Natures own Super bloom Guano concentrate @ 4mls/litre As for the Viparspectra LED light test .. It seems to be working just fine I mean you only have to look at the size of the trunk on plant A to see that they grow well under these lights. As for bud density we will need to wait until the harvest to ascertain how it performs 😀 but all things are looking fine at the moment. As usual thankyou for taking the time to look at my diary see you next week

######## Things are starting to happen fast now as one plant gets closer to harvest and her sister starts to flower Adding those two extra dark hours to the lighting schedule seemed to have helped Plant A Fower but considering Plant B flowered just fine on the 24hr cycle I cannot say for certain whether it's a factor or not. Plant A could simply be showing recessive traits from the photoperiod parent plant. Lets talk about Plant b , I couldn't resist giving a bud a gentle squeeze and was surprised at the density and Nice springy and sticky texture. The Viparspectra certainly works for this style of growing with two plants in a small area If growing in a larger area you would have to have more than one unit to cover the area or a higher powered model. Nutrient dosage per litre for this week was as follows Professors A+B Nutrients 2mls each Cyco Silica 2mls Natures Own Guano super bloom Organic 5mls PPM 800 Ph 5.8 ########## 16th July Update ######### Plant A was showing signs of being hungry so I did another nutrient change on her I used as follows 5mls / litre Ozi Magic Ozi Tonic 5mls/ litre Natures own Guano super bloom organic 1ml/ litre Cyco Silica 0.5mls/ litre Seasol PPM 900 Ph 5.7 *Plant B was fine for nutes She is slowing down her daily usage. PPM still 750 Ph 5.8 $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$ Update 17/7/19 Plant B had a hydrogen peroxide bath to cleanse the roots then I put her back in with clean fresh nutes as follows 100mls of Ozi Tonic @10mls/L 50mls Guano Super bloom @5mls/L 20mls Floralicous (pineapple) @2mls/L Ph 5.7 PPM 1200 This will be the last full feed she will get Next feeds will have only the ozi tonic and sweetener before a final Plain water flush 3-4 days before I harvest.

Welcome to another week of my Viparspectra Test grow 19/7/2019 The past week has sure had it's ups and downs Whilst earlier in the week everything was running sweet until a large Rain front moved across where I live, giving us pretty much 3 days of constant rain and a RH of over 75% 😒 My little inline exhaust fan can't move the humid air out quick enough and yesterday I spotted a tiny spot of mold (botrytis) starting to develop on Plant B's thickest and dense Bud. 😩 So I have removed all of the biggest Bud's from her to hang & dry allowing more airflow onto the remaining buds which I want to give 1 more week. Plant A is Doing fine , in fact I had to defoliate a shit load of fan leaves to allow more light and Air to get in. She is drinking 3 or 4 ltres every 2 days I may even have to do another defol in 3-4 weeks time to avoid another mold issue. I will be investing in some type of dehumidifier for future grows as it's too heartbreaking to lose your harvest and effort for Nothing. Now for the Viparspectra report . I am very happy with the lights performance so far The buds on plant B are getting very hard and dense which is why I was worried about humidity problems so the light must be doing well in that regard. A note for potential users of these "blurple" type of LED lights is to always daily check plant health with the lights off as you will see in the last two images above I took a photo of part of my plant with lights on and off. When looking at the plants with the lights on it is hard to notice any discolouration or blemishes on the leaves but withe lights off as you see in the last pic the leaves have a little yellowing colour indicating I need to feed them. Only checking with the lights On could lead to Nutrient deficiencies or other Problems easily picked up if the lights were off. This would be an ideal light for a closet or small space grow with two plants max.

Welcome to another update of my Viparspectra test Grow Diary As you may remember last week I removed the largest buds from plant B because of high humidity problems I was concerned about Botrytis. Well those buds have had a weeks drying and i included some happy snaps of them in amongst the above images. They are now beginning the curing process whilst the rest of Plant B matures. I aim to harvest Plant B within the next 7 days and will only have Plant A remaining for the rest of this Diary. Now about Plant A - She is pumping in the nutrients and I cannot seem to please her as she always looks deficient to me. I've only added the one pic so far this week as I'm yet to do a nutrient change on her. I will be doing so either later today or some time tomorrow and i will add more photos of her then. The Viparspectra LED is still doing it's thing and I remain happy with the way the plants are growing under it. I really like the design and the way that the fans and Timer are all built into the unit so it's just plug and play no extra connections to timers etc. It also is dimmable from 0 to 100 in either Veg or Bloom mode making ideal for use in all stages of growth from seed to harvest. it comes with a remote control that is easy to use and the unit has a LCD display that shows the real time plus by using the preview mode it will run thru the on & off times that you have preset aswell as the lighting levels from 0 to 100 and whether you are in veg or bloom mode. although it wont make a lot of difference to this grow I thought I would mention my latest additions to my growing kit I have put in a small dehumidifier and a precision humidity/dehumidity controller You can have set the RH to any where from 0-100 %rh and the controller will run the dehumidifier until the desired levels are reached Bonus with this controller is that it has two inputs one for the dehumidifier and another for a normal humidifier so you can have the perfect rh levels all thru the grow from seed to harvest Bloody marvelous 😃 I uploaded some pics of the new toys Thankyou for taking the time to look at this weeks update Will check in again next Week until then Happy Growing 👌

This is the last week and therefore last update of the Viparspectra test diary. I have harvested both plants now and as plant B is nearly finished drying Plant A has only just begun. PLANT B went pretty much as expected She vegged for four weeks and flowered for seven so was finished in just under 80 days. Her Buds are sticky dense and skunky with lots and lots of visible frosting. She smokes up a treat in fact I had a joint a short while ago and it is making the typing of this report a little difficult. Bit of blurred vision Lol This Girl was an absolute breeze to grow She gobbled up the nutes up until the end of week 5 flowering and then she slowed right down on her uptake. This pheno of the dwarf was a real pleasure to grow . PLANT A as I called her stayed in the vegetative stage for a week or so longer than her sister. This helped her yield immensely and I am being conservative when I say I think I will get 3 ounces of trimmed prime bud once she is fully dried. At Harvest her buds have a cheesy , fruity smell that is quite pungent. I am looking forward to smoking some for a test. She Grew quite easily I only had the one issue with overfeeding and after a nutrient change she was fine . She developed very thick base and had a very strong plant scructure I called this one dwarf pheno five as I have grown five Royal Dwarf auto Plants Now and They have all been very different in size leaf shape growth and end result. There are too many variations of phenotype within this strain , the first time I grew 3 seeds of the Royal dwarf and they were all different to each other had fairly poor yields and were generally unimpressive. However atleast half of that should be on me as it was my first attempt at an auto flowering variety. This grow I only did the 2 plants and will yield close to 5 oz of very good quality cannabis but I am looking for a variety that i can germinate a seed of, and know in my mind that it will grow and be roughly the same as the last time I grew it . So will grow this strain again Yes I still have two seeds left so I will More than likely grow them out at some stage. But for Now I will keep looking for the ideal auto strain with a stable reliable phenotype. Is there such a thing even? I'm sure there must be something out there and I will endeavour to find it. That Concludes The Growth Part of This Diary The drying Buds will eventually be cured fully in mason jars with boveda packs. I really must try Royal Queen seeds again some Time Now for My final thoughts and conclusions Regarding the star of my show, the Viparspectra Timer Control Series 450W LED Grow Light This was my first grow using an LED light and i was as skeptical as all hell at first especially after buying one and then reading don't buy a blurple LED and you wasting your money etc etc Lol. But Having now sampled the finished goods (sticky icky buds) I can vouch for the fact that they do work you can grow a quality plant from seed to harvest with this light but just one photo plant or as i did 2 autos . trying to get any more coverage than this will only lead to disapointment. They are what they are and if you are looking for a light for small grow this may just be what you need. It has very simple controls both on the light and on the handy remote that comes with it. The light brightness is fully adjustable from 0-100 so it is perfect for seedlings and mature plants It has a Veg setting and a Bloom setting It has it's own built in fully programmable timer And also built in fairly quiet fans So all in all it is a compact all in one unit that does the job I asked it to do I can't Expect anymore than that . In the images section of this last weeks update I have included some pics of the what the light looks like and some information regarding it's technical specifications and Light spectrum. I sincerely hope I was able to provide an informative and Honest evaluation of this light and I hope you enjoyed it Thanks for taking the time to read it > I will update the smoke reports after curing ONE MONTH SMOKE REPORT it's been a month since I harvested these girls and have had some of the buds slow curing ever since they had dried. Today 1st September 2019 as a tester whilst completely straight ( hadnt had a puff since the previous pm) I had 3 bongs in a row and boy oh boy the flavours have developed into an earthy pungent taste and the high hits almost immediately right between the eyes 😂 I was fairly ripped for the next couple of hours before it slowed down to a relaxing calm laid back mood. Quite a lot of triches in the bottom of the grinder so might be a good strain for extractions too Thanks again for looking in at my diaries I appreciate it .
