Preparing for next generation of plants, my buddy and “too lazy for GrowDiaries” Max Pointy owed me a CBDutch Treat seed as we exchanged some strains. Suddenly reaching capacity, he surprised me with a full grown plant instead!
Day 58 from seed. This plant originally had some LST going on but Max Pointy was a bit neglectful in retying branches, as he secures them to the side of the box. I untied the main stalk and revealed major damage where the string had sliced in. When I attempted to apply further LST the stalk almost snapped at the damaged point. I taped the section and am just letting everything go. I have accounted for height with other plants and so this should be no issue. The seed was started in a peat pod and then potted up, you can see the main stem is nice and thick. Because of an uneven canopy I topped some branches to make things more uniform. This new development had allowed me to bump back one of my damaged Hash Plants to a later generation. This plant will be moved to flowering in around three weeks.
When it comes time to water I am going to top up the soil and top dress to add a few nutes.
Apologies for the unclear photos this week as my veg tent is incredibly overcrowded including clones to be given away which are out of frame.
Day 66 from seed. This plant seems like a beast. The leaves are unreal. The stem is clearly thick. Love it! Just water lately. I’ll be flowering this plant in two weeks.
Day 72 from seed. This plant is huge. The stem is very thick as already stated, and it continues to get tall. I expect this thing to be almost stretched to the lights in my flowering tent... i will continue water until next week. One more week until flowering.
Day 79 from seed. This plant has been moved to the flowering tent! It has about a nine week flowering period. I applied some 18-18-21 Miracle Grow plant food in prep of flower. I waited a tad too long and this plant is towering above the rest, and so close to the lights. Once I untied it, it became tree-like.
Day 86 from seed. One week of flowering complete, eight weeks to go. This is a behemoth! It was already oversized before stretch. The branches have many strong developing nodes. The buds may be massive.... stay tuned.
93 days from seed. Two weeks of flowering complete, seven weeks to go. This plant is massive! I let it grow way too big before the flowering tent. I will be monitoring to see if the buds get bleached. I fed 18-18-21 Miracle Grow Tomato plant food, with a dip of blackstrap molasses and Earth alive Big Blue Alga. I noticed some twisting, skinny leaves so i assume it was on the edge of excess. I made sure it got lots of water the next time.
Day 100 from seed. Three weeks of flower complete, six weeks to go. I moved the light up as much as I could, basically nothing in reality. This plant is still almost past the main light. Too big. Oh well... the buds are big! Haha.
I recently fed 2-7-7 Shultz liquid cactus food and a dip of Earth Alive Big Blue Alga and blackstrap molasses.
Sometimes when sticking my nose in this plant I get a whiff of sort of a hashy, pungent, earthy smell similar to Crop King’s Early Miss autoflower. However, now that this plant is producing trichomes/resin, it is producing a super sweet smell! It is similar to peaches and/or cream. It is addicting! Will the bud smell/taste like this?! Stay tuned.
I moved the thermometer to get more of a canopy reading and wow is it ever hot! I will be monitoring that going forward..
Day 107 from seed. Four weeks of flowering complete, five weeks to go. This behemoth continues to increase bud density, and is beginning to orange. It consistently gives off a sweet peach or creamy resin smell. I am guessing it will be a large yield. I applied the last of the 2-7-7 Shultz Cactus liquid plant food today, with a dip of Earth Alive Big Blue Alga and blackstrap molasses.
Day 114 from seed. Five weeks of flowering complete, four weeks to go. Its amazing how much time is left, the buds are so dense! The smell is still consistent, and more and more orange hairs emerging. Tomorrow I will hit it with Alaskan Morbloom for the first time before the final stretch. The yield on this should be huge!
Day 121 from seed. Six weeks of flowering complete, three weeks to go. The leaves have quickly gone yellow, hoping that is just leeched nitrogen and not an imbalance. The buds are massive already in any case. Just finishing up the 0-10-10 Alaskan Morbloom with a dip of Earth Alive Big Blue Alga and blackstrap molasses. I will transition to water in the last couple weeks.
Day 127 from seed. Seven weeks of flowering complete, two weeks to go. This plant has already had the last of its 0-10-10 Alaskan Morbloom, and dip of Earth Alive Big Blue Alga and blackstrap molasses. Just water here on out. this plant “looms” over the rest. Epic.
Day 134 from seed. Eight weeks of flowering complete, one recommended week to go. I will not make the full last week out of convenience of other plants in my veg. tent. I have been regularly giving plenty of water for some time.
These buds are massive, and I included a couple pics with scale. The biggest buds are the size of my forearm!
This is my first experience with Crop King’s CBDutch Treat. This clone was given to me as almost fully grown so I can only speak to the latter veg. , and flowering stages. Growth is very vigorous and strong with this strain, this is a “tie breaker,” it literally will snap its LST restraints. The stretch period is large and so accounting for a tall reaching size is required.
Massive buds form the length of the branches/nodes, making massive crowns that were essentially the size of my forearm. The bud details are subpar: really stringy, hairy, with lots of orange. The cured product sheds very easily and makes a big mess. However, the buds were very dense. I harvested mid way through the 8th week of a recommended 9 week flowering period.
The smell is very pleasant: peaches, or cream, a light tropical that does hold up through the first times through the vape. Smell was abundant in growing and in consuming.
This plant triggers to flowering very fast once being moved. Some plants vegging seem to already try to grow buds, and I have an outdoor version that has massive clumps of bud where none of my others have even started. Very fast process that may be ideal for some.
The effects are mild, which is the selling point for me in select cases. This strain has projected 4%THC, and 8%CBD, so it is not concussive; it may be too weak for some. Excellent introductory or beginner weed. This makes for a really nice morning smoke as you definitely get high but not wasted, and you don’t lose energy as quickly through the day. It is an ideal pre-school/pre-work/pre-activity/etc. strain, saving stronger stuff for recreation. I do not suffer from chronic pain so it is hard to tell how much CBD there is. I plan on trying to make some edibles out of this more mild product.
No issues with harvest, really. I didn’t even bother with any scraps as the plant pretty much just produced the massive crowns. Easy process.
I complained that this plant was too big when moving to flower and upon flowering, and then I made the same mistake with the next CBDutch Treat in line in my diaries.
@SAC87, thanks for the thoughtful advice. I like the bone meal approach, I’ve used that with success before. My other route may be to eventually try a CalMag product.
@@BeanswithPork, I hear ya!! I had that happen a bunch of times. I got around that by feeding the first 2 weeks of flower 1/2 veg 1/2 flower nutes. I’ve also tried adding an extra half dose of micro, cal mag or adding some Bone meal. Some of green did come back just not all the way. They could also just be a heavy feeding strain, had those before too. They’re looking great otherwise!!
@SAC87, yeah I know. I’ve been giving food through all of flower though, perhaps I am a little light on nitrogen at those points. I noticed in flower once yellowed, leaves don’t regain green so I don’t anticipate getting it back. I’m onto Alaskan Morbloom next which has no nitrogen, and beginning just water in about two weeks anyway.
