DivineBuds420 In the previous cycle, I started with 13 plants from regular seeds, sorted out the males, and focused on the females. In total, there were 7 males and 6 females. After completing that run, I selected further and decided to continue this second cycle with 4 female plants.
The selection wasn’t based on yield alone. Terpene profile played a major role in the decision-making process. The four phenotypes show some similarities but also clear differences.
One pheno leans heavily towards a sticky, resinous structure with strong gassy notes, where the GMO influence really shines through. Another pheno goes more in a fruity-sweet direction, clearly expressing the Zkittlez side. The remaining two phenos sit somewhere in between, combining traits of both profiles.
There are also noticeable differences in yield. The first two phenos mentioned are the highest producers, while the other two deliver slightly less.
The goal of this grow is to narrow the selection down to one, or at most two keeper phenotypes, which will then be grown and optimized further in future cycles.
GMO Zkittlez from ETHOS Genetics once again proved to be a fascinating hybrid with a wide phenotypic range and an exceptionally complex terpene profile. Across both cycles, the diversity between phenos has been one of the most impressive aspects of this strain.
The terpene spectrum ranges from deep, earthy, peppery and gassy notes with strong GMO influence to sweet, fruity expressions where the Zkittlez side clearly dominates. The gassy pheno goes beyond classic GMO garlic tones and develops sharp fuel-like notes, almost reminiscent of gasoline or solvent. It’s difficult to describe precisely, but very intense and unmistakably gassy.
On the other end of the spectrum, the fruity-sweet pheno expresses bright citrus and berry notes combined with a pronounced creamy undertone. It almost resembles a sweet cream candy. Very unique, very hard to put into words, but extremely special and memorable.
The remaining two phenos sit somewhere in between, blending both terpene directions in their own way. While the phenos share certain similarities, they are far from identical. Each one clearly has its own character, structure and aromatic identity.
Growth and yield also vary noticeably. The GMO-dominant and the sweet Zkittlez-dominant phenos turned out to be the strongest producers, while the two mixed phenos delivered slightly less. However, all of them produced dense, highly resinous buds with strong potency and excellent bag appeal.
Overall, GMO Zkittlez is a strain that truly rewards careful pheno hunting. It offers complexity, individuality and character in every plant, making it an excellent choice for growers who enjoy selection and long-term optimization. The effect is strong and relaxing while still mentally engaging, and the flavor profile keeps surprising from start to finish.

DivineBuds420 The harvest is now around seven months old and has been curing for that entire time. The strain is very pleasant to smoke even when enjoyed pure. The smoke is smooth, flavorful and clearly reflects the differences between the phenos. The gassy pheno delivers a heavy, fuel‑driven profile, while the fruity‑sweet pheno stands out with creamy, candy‑like notes.
When vaporized, the terpene profile really shines. The flavors become even more pronounced, and the differences between the phenos come through very clearly, revealing their individual character and full aromatic depth.
The effect is strong and long‑lasting, starting with a noticeable mental uplift and creative stimulation before settling into a deeply relaxing body high without being overly sedating.
