Winter Shorties

BearBuds Was not going to post this grow. Had two bad grows in a row and thought I had lost my mojo. Turns out the system I was using, AutoPots, had shit the bed. The float was malfunctioning and not allowing for any time without full water. Rotted my roots two straight grow in a row. This grow I built myself a custom auto watering set up with some design help from an engineer friend and its worked great. These photos are from the end of week 6. Winter growing has presented a lot of challenges. The plants do not consume as much during the veg stage so finding the right watering cycle was a challenge. Learned that less frequently or less amount was the way to go. They don't metabolize as much with temps not climbing above 75 so I needed to lower the PPMs a lot compared to summer grows. They took SO long in veg, probably because I was learning as I went, and they didn't stretch AT ALL. These are the shortest plants I have ever grown. Used a new line of nutrients, CANNA, they are not bad but I won't use them again. Green Leaf Nutrients are way better. Probably the hardest part was humidity. Its too cold to put my small humidifier in the tent, temps drop to something like 67 during the day, and with it off, because CO is so fucking dry, RH was ~40-50% the entire grow start to finish. Definitely contributed to the slow growth. Overall this has been an extremely challenging grow, but I am learning a lot and its turning out beautifully so I am happy to feel my mojo again.

BearBuds Week 7 ended very well. Plants are fattening up very nicely. Light is extremely close with no problems at all and the color fade from low night temps is really cool!

BearBuds REALLY fattening up now. Sweet Z is about 5 days behind PE but I couldn't be happier with these results. Still learning as I go with this winter grow but its turning out OK. I am more and more confident I will be able to pull 2oz off each of these gals

BearBuds Starting to flush. Going to be my longest flowering period ever, letting them go for 71 days total in flower.

BearBuds Thats a wrap on my first winter grow, total time in flower 70 days. Lots of lessoned learned, yield wont be great because they are just so short and not nearly spread out enough, but the buds are GORGEOUS! After looking at the trichomes I cannot wait to try them. Tomorrow they get cut and I will try to hang dry them for at least 7 days before I jar them. Wet Weight: Pineapple Express: 906g Sweet Zenzation: 770g

BearBuds Great stuff from this plant, barely any larf even with bad structure, will update dry weight after a week or two of curing.

BearBuds Last time I'll grow this plant, this one definitely turned out better than the outdoor, but I am still not impressed. Hopefully the smoke is good.
