Dennis_BlackMagic I planted these girls on the 6th of february in my living soil mix. Again with some grains of Dynomyco. The mix is based on the buildasoil light mix, with some adjustments based on what i could get in my area.
About a quarter of it is unused soil i mixed a year ago and the rest is 6 years old living soil from a SIP container i used to grow in. I reamended and hydrated the mix before filling up the 8L pots. The day after planting i noticed mycelium on top of the soil so it's alive for sure.
This is the first grow i'm doing with this cabinet i built, huge upgrade size-wise but still not massive. Canopy is 90cm x 70cm so 20 plants is gonna be tight. Flipping next week once i get everything dialed in.
Seem to have lost my straw so no mulch for now ✨

Dennis_BlackMagic As expected the bermuda's are a bit quicker and bigger than their orange bud sisters. The bermuda's are triploid genetics, and theyre F1's if i'm not mistaken. So it's not a fair comparison between strains and that's not the point either. But it's cool to see that in action. Adjusted the height of the lamps for this reason. The orange buds were getting a bit too much for their liking so i backed off. Meanwhile the bermuda's were stretching for light. Very happy i bought 2 small lamps instead of 1 bigger one.
They get a weekly dose of tm-7, silica, alfalfa extract and calcium as a foliar spray

Dennis_BlackMagic Flipped to flower this week.
Have been super busy with renovations. Just watering them and doing weekly foliars
As i knew before start watering would be an issue. I'm used to growing in a SIP and i can't pick up the pots to weigh em cause they're cramped in there so tight. I'm stuck with feeling the soil and going off how the leaves look. Not ideal. I also suck at keeping track of when and how much cause i'm just too busy.
But so far they don't seem to mind too much. Looking healthy and lush. Beautiful dark green leaves.

Dennis_BlackMagic They don't seem like they're going to need extra amendments to finich their flowering cycle so i just gave them the usual TM-7 from BioAg, Silica and alfalfa ferment as a soil drench once this week.
The Bermuda's are getting about 400ml every 2 sometimes 3 days and the Orange Buds are getting 300ml.
Topped 3 Bermuda's to even out the canopy and holy sh*t i have never seen such hollow stems in my life. That first one is crazy i can see through the whole plant! They say hollow stems mean high thc but we'll see about that ✊
The praying lady's are the Orange Buds. Beautiful plants.
Gotta clean up soon and take cuttings but can't find the time.

Dennis_BlackMagic Every week has been he same basically. Fed them once, watered every 2-3 days. The orange buds were a bit slower to start flowering, i think they weren't fully mature when i flipped them. They are catching up now and it seems like they're gonna finish at the same time.
So far this grow has been a breeze, loving the Migro lights, loving the whole setup from AcInfinity. Such an upgrade i can hardly believe it.
They're starting to show their personality. The Bermuda's were racing to the top and finally stopped stretching, and the Orange Buds are just so damn sexy. The bermuda's are naturally a bit more lanky like an OG is, but i think this trait is a bit more exaggerated because they're planted so close together. This is the shade avoidance effect. The Orange buds don't care who's on top. They're like me i guess, as long as they get some action 😅
Except for one plant they all look happy in my environment so i couldn't be more happy about that. Every time i open the closet i'm greeted by praying ladies🙏
Found 2 tomato plants lurking below the canopy, if they survive till harvest i'll be planting them outside. They deserve that much.
Dennis_BlackMagic They are starting to bulk up nicely. No issues whatsoever except for fungus gnats, wich was expected. Didn't do any IPM this round.
Lovely smells are starting to come through and it seems like some of them are gonna be quite heavy yielders. Very curious for the outcome 🤠

Dennis_BlackMagic To anyone following along, i apologise for not being consistent with my updates. Have been pretty busy lately but i will finish this diary and include a detailed smoke report.
----------------------
Nothing crazy happenend this week, the girls are ripening nicely. It's clear that the bermuda's are very consistent. They're all kushy , lemony and everything in between.
There is one that has an amazing tropical smell instead of the typical lemon but is a runt otherwise. I'll probably be growing that one again in a bigger pot if she smokes nice, see how she performs.
The orange buds are displaying 2 main pheno's. One dark, small hashplant type with a mandarin / orange kind of smell. And one bigger pheno, bigger yield and some added gas to go with the tropical.

Orange buds are coloring up nicely. Different phenotypes are becoming more obvious. Some high yielding some lower yielding. The smaller dark indica-leaning phenotypes are more orange smelling but a little more superficial in smell than the bigger pheno's, those have some more funk to their smell. Don't think i will find something similar to the original orange bud i remember but that's fine. All of them smell great, hopefully the smell will translate well into the flavor. The sweet ones rarely do in my experience.
Less variation in the bermuda's, i already know it's gonna be tough choosing a favorite in this population. They are by far the loudest when i open my cab 🍋🍋

Dennis_BlackMagic Harvested Orange bud 5 at the end of the week. Along with the purple punch pheno, these were the smallest and fastest flowering. Nothing too special about these except they look great and smell sweet. Some grape to the purple punch leaner and the same tropical kind of smell that is present in the bigger ones, is also in orange bud 5. Nothing that screams imo and they are among the smallest of the population. These are the kinds of plants that would probably benefit from extra veg-time.
Meanwhile all the bermuda's seem to want to finish in the same timeframe, and there are a few wich i'm eyeing atm. All of them smell like lemon or lime mixed with a rich kush aroma but one has a rubber kind of background that i really enjoy, there's one that smells EXACTLY like a lemon, and ones with a little more sour funk in the background. And one with a more bitter lemon zest type of smell. Very hard to pick a favorite. It's gonna come down to wich one translates best into flavor.
Both populations have 1 runt, wich will probably yield like shit, but i happen to like their aroma the most. Both very tropical and fruity but also very different from one another. I will go into more detail about these after harvest. The orange bud runt (no. 3) smells SUPER sweet and peachy with a strange background smell, probably the loudest smell in the cab once you get close, and she looks a bit weird too.
The bermuda runt (no. 6) has a definitely fruity but still undeniably kushy type of aroma, a familiar kind of sent with some unfamiliar notes blended in there. Very excited about the smoke on these.
I probably could have harvested all of them this week, but as i was leaving on vacation and i couldn't monitor the drying process i could not harvest them already. I have no idea what the weather is going to be like and how my new setup will perform during my time away. Still alot of clear trichomes too.
So i defoliated a bit before i left just so there's no stagnant air anywhere, and had a friend of mine come and water the plants every 3 days. Plain dechlorinated water as usual. ✌️
