Leckmilch I was able to transplant her into a 2.7L pot this week. That should be enough until the beginning of May. I might have given her a bit too much water, what do you think?

Leckmilch Was probably a bit stingy with the nutrients. She's getting an extra dose now. This week, she's also going out to the greenhouse. There are only 14 hours of daylight outside, so I hope she doesn't start flowering.

Leckmilch She's really thirsty and needs a lot of nutrients. I've also increased the nutrients a bit since she's showing slight deficiency symptoms. What I don't understand is, they've been in pre-flowering for weeks now (since early May). Why aren't they forming buds yet? I don't think she's revegging either, because then no pistils would be formed. Last week was mostly overcast and really windy, with winds up to 70 KMH. I have her placed near plum trees for protection from the west wind. Still, I've had a lot of pest problems because of that - lots of thrips. I think I'll brew some nettle tea and spray her with it. That worked well last year with the Kush and the Frozen Black Cherry.

Leckmilch The temperatures were pleasant throughout the week. I defoliated her well this week. She's getting extremely bushy and forming a lot of small leaves. The growth (stretching) is slowly coming to an end; she only added 3 cm this week. …soon the first flower clusters will have to show.

Leckmilch Had a cool and rainy week. She's not stretching much anymore each week. This week it was only 4 cm. I think the stretching is gradually stopping and she's focusing completely on flowering. I have some yellowing leaves, also with brown spots. I think that's due to a lack of cal/mag. What was in the pot is, I believe, used up.. I'm going to add cal/mag to the regular fertilizer now. We'll see the results in a week or two. I defoliated her well again.

Leckmilch Had a very cloudy week. It has an extreme deficiency of potassium and magnesium. It's not stretching anymore. Now it seems to finally be going into the flowering stage. I think the pot is a bit too small. I will choose a 15L larger one next year.

Leckmilch Had a great week. I defoliated her a bit again. She's got some serious problem. I measured the pH in the soil, it's at 8.0. The watering water is at 6.5. Something must be going wrong? Can someone maybe help me?

Leckmilch Had a great week. Lots of sun. She's also showing signs of deficiency. I think I know what it's due to. Probably just not enough water. I've been able to water 5 liters daily now.

@DrGruen, thanks. I gave a bit too little water. You can see the deficiency now. I have a few other plants that I don't even have here in the Diaries. They're still twice as big. 😅

How did you measure the soil pH?
Leckmilch
Leckmilch commented9d ago
@GreenHobbit, check out eBay for: PH Value Moisture Meter 6 in 1 Soil Tester Measuring Device Soil Measurement Device Plants. It's not super accurate, but you can do quite a bit with it; you can even measure how well you've fertilized.
GreenHobbit
GreenHobbit commented8d ago
@Leckmilch I don't know if I would fully trust the pH at 8. The plant looks healthy in the photo. I have the Spider Farmer soil sensors. They don't measure pH, and I don't really believe that the EC value is accurate, but I can track the trend and see when the EC is slowly going down. So far, I'm happy with it 😅
Leckmilch
Leckmilch commented8d ago
@GreenHobbit, that's misleading. Many leaves are yellow. Some are curled, brown, and have rust spots. Could be a cal mag problem due to the pH value.

@Leckmilch Ah okay, you can see it much better in the detail pictures 😅 There's definitely something off. But I wouldn't pin it down to the pH or CalMag just based on the measurement. How often do you water the 3 liters, and do you add 4 ml/l Grow + 4 ml/l Bloom + CalMag every time? What soil are you using?
Leckmilch
Leckmilch commented8d ago
@GreenHobbit, yeah, it's really tough. Every 3 days 5-7 liters, depends on how strong the sun is shining. 1 day is a break in between. Nutrients and calmag are added with every watering. I've also thought that the pot might just be too small.
GreenHobbit
GreenHobbit commented8d ago
@Leckmilch, 5–7l every 3 days sounds reasonable for 30l and the size, actually. I wouldn't blame the pot directly for that. 😅 What I find more interesting is that you give the full nutrient amount + CalMag with every watering. What soil are you using exactly?
Leckmilch
Leckmilch commented8d ago
@GreenHobbit, hmm. That's molehill soil from a cow pasture, plus coarse gravel.
Leckmilch
Leckmilch commented4d ago
@GreenHobbit, we have had 2 days of mixed weather and relatively cool 22 degrees. I watered 7 liters, took a day off, and today I got 9 liters into the pot. That's really intense. I believe there is no soil left in the pot, just root mass.
GreenHobbit
GreenHobbit commented4d ago
@Leckmilch I can imagine that it pulls even more with the leaf mass. 30l isn't exactly a lot for such a little tree. Maybe repot it again? 90l mortar bucket with some 10-12mm holes at the bottom. My Buddha doesn't even take half of yours 😅 and it drinks 6l every day.
Leckmilch
Leckmilch commented4d ago
@GreenHobbit, I only chose 30L so they can stay mobile. 50L would really be a torture to move every evening and morning for dew protection. I could have just planted them directly in the ground. I really need to think of something. 6L daily, do you also add nutrients every time?
GreenHobbit
GreenHobbit commented4d ago
@Leckmilch no, for heaven's sake😅. With some fertilizers, it says to use them only every 2nd watering. I use greenhouse feeding. You sprinkle 3-4g per liter of soil on top. Lasts 8 weeks.. so I'm happy with it.
GreenHobbit
GreenHobbit commented4d ago
@Leckmilch oh, I see. YOU still have to watch out for dew. Mine are completely outdoors and so far they've survived the few rainy days without complications. It only gets dangerous when the buds can't dry after the rain.
Leckmilch
Leckmilch commented4d ago
@GreenHobbit, yeah, from mid-September it gets critical with dew. Here by the water, it's already more humid.
Leckmilch
Leckmilch commented4d ago
@GreenHobbit, I'll check it out
