Germination

Majin Week 1 – Catamet Seedlings Update Four ladies have officially broken ground and are above soil. Germination looks solid so far, with all four showing healthy cotyledons and early serrated leaves starting to form. Stems are upright with a slight stretch on a couple, but nothing dramatic at this stage. Color is looking good — nice healthy green without any obvious deficiencies or burn. Medium appears to be draining well, and moisture levels seem on point. No damping off or early issues observed. Overall, a clean start. Still in the fragile baby phase, but they’re moving in the right direction. Now we wait and see who starts showing a little extra vigor — that early standout energy is always interesting to watch.

Majin my environment is a wreck, the seeds were old, i am surprised they popped. dealing with stunted mutatants lol, but they are growing. had the light too close. moved the light up a few inches seemed to help, they are a little behind, they should be about 4-6 nodes tall close to being topped. but here we are

Majin they are reacting well to the raised light, still facing some issues. still just getting 6.5 ph'd water. im watching the leaves to make sure the yellowing isnt from hunger, im pretty sure its mostly just stress.

Majin Started with 4 seedlings in Solo cups using the standard 60/40 Ocean Forest + perlite mix under the 100W HLG Quantum Board in the 2x2 tent. They were pretty slow and compact for the first couple weeks — mostly due to the light being too close early on and cooler room temps. I raised the light about a week ago and they’ve responded nicely. All four are now sitting at 5–6 nodes, showing good praying-hands leaf structure, healthy green color, and only very slight yellowing (normal as they start using up the Ocean Forest charge). No major deficiencies or problems showing. Stems are decent thickness for their age, no weaklings yet. They’re still on plain pH 6.5 water but will get their first light feeding (1g/gal Mega Crop) on the next watering along with the Tiki clones. These are reg seeds from my old stash, so I’m not expecting rockets, but so far they’re uniform and steady. One plant is pulling slightly ahead on node stacking and stem thickness — keeping an eye on that one as a potential early keeper. Goal with this line is to find at least one solid female that brings back the heavy resin, dense nugs, and couch-lock Afghani-skunk terps I used to get from the original Catamet/Slurricane project. If I can pull a good rosin producer out of these four, she’ll get a permanent spot in the mother tent. Still early days, but they’re finally starting to look like real little plants instead of stalled seedlings. Warmer weather and consistent 70s temps should help them stretch and fill out over the next week. Will post another Catamet-specific update next weekend or whenever they hit the 1L pot stage.
