Mixed Strain Small Cabinet LED DWC Grow

Blazar I finally got 5 seedlings transplanted into root riot cubes and installed in the DWC res. The Moby dick (plant 3) and zombie DF (plant 4) had plenty of roots, as they are 5 days older. The Zokas (plants 2,5,6) only had a small root sticking out of each of them. Plant 2 looks like it might not survive, its very droopy. The led is at 50% power. Tub water temps are quite low at 13C, that will improve as tings heat up here. The plan now is to veg until around 24cm as a single cola, or top them and then grow to 24cm. At this stage I will flip to 12-12. Due to the penetration of the LED being quite low, there is no point in vegging much longer. I will also defoliate all lower growth going into flower and again at around 2 weeks flower.

Blazar Roots now showing for each plant. I haven't made any other changes this week. I'll let them grow a decent set of roots. Temperatures have dropped slightly so the heater is on a lot, set to 16C. 2 of the 3 Zokas seedlings are not looking well, hope they pull through 🙏 The Moby Dick and Zombie seedlings are doing well, though these are nearly a week older than the Zokas.

Blazar 4 of the 5 plants are doing well. All have nice white roots growing. The Zombie and Moby Dick plants are, not surprisingly, doing very well as they are ~6days older and have proven good genetics. 1 of the Zokkas is comparable and doing very well and another Zokkas is doing ok, lagging a little behind. The last of the Zokkas plant is growing very slowly but its picking up speed. Its acting like it took some damage but is now recovering, not sure why, as nothing obvious happened to it. The roots for this plant are even less than the other plants. Temperatures are increasing nicely, AC/heater is set to 18C, but not coming on much, especially during lights on. I've been taking a bit more of a minimalistic approach to this grow, compared to the last. I haven't changed the reservoir in 3 weeks and have just been topping up with nutrients, a small bit at time (50-70ppm) when it drops. Orca and Calmag only added once and Fulvic and Cannazym twice.. This has kept the ppms very stable, only varying by +/-20ppm and the PH has been steady @5.8. I reckon I will veg for another 2 weeks, topping the tallest plants in 1 week, leaving 1 week of recovery before I switch to 12-12. I am aiming to flip when the canopy is an even 18cm tall. As I am growing a mix of sativa heavy and more Indica leaning hybrids, there will be a lot of manipulating to maintain an even canopy. That was one of the biggest issues with my last grow, I had a "lopsided" canopy, so some plants were too close and some too far away from the light. This was visible in the end quality. I need denser buds on average.

Blazar Growth is taking off. 4 of the 5 plants were topped today. The smallest (runt) plant I left untouched, to get a more even canopy. That should give 9 tops in total. Plants are eating and growing well. I have been doing very little maintenance, I still haven't changed the res, only added nutrients when needed. Temperatures have dropped a bit this week, hopefully they recover next week. I will switch to 12-12 hopefully within a week if growth continues at around 1cm a day, I'm still hoping to switch when the canopy is 18cm. Strange growth with the moby dick, very dense and a lot of side branching and very large leaf's. The first Zokkas is very sativa leaning, the other are more hybrid leaning.

Blazar Plants put into 12-12 today @ Day 51 from germination, day 40 in DWC tub (the Zokkas are slightly younger). Growth is consistent (1cm per day). I'm still running with the first res and have just topped off when needed. That seems to be working well, plants seem happy enough and roots are still nice and white and no funky smells. Ph has still stayed steady no swings. Temperatures have been stable with small rise in night time temperatures.

Blazar One week of 12-12. Smell is starting. Plants are eating well and I'm defoliating slowly. I will strip the bottom growth thats not getting any light next week

Blazar Lots of stretching still @ 16 days 12-12 and very little smell. The zokas and moby dick are doing very well, with only slight yellowing (in older growth) in one of the Zokas. The Zombie is very small and will not get much light if it doesn't catch up. I still haven't being paying much attention to this grow, no res changes only top ups,, it seems to be working well enough. I want to compare the yield & quality of this low effort grow to my last high effort scrog and regular res changes.

Blazar The grow is going well. Budsites are starting to form, but still little to no smell. Stretch is starting to slow down and LST of the tallest has helped . Temperatures are starting to rise which is good. The zombie is tiny and being enveloped by the taller zokkas plant. The movy dick is doing great, i reckon that will be the best producer. one of the zokkas still more yellow than the resst but the other 2 have started to darken up as I have increased PPM. I have been selectively removing fan leaves to let in more light to lower canopy. I have also been stripping new lower growth. I did the 1st res change in the whole grow. PPM now rock steady @ 850 and PH @ 5.8, their drinking about 10L every 3 days, that's 2L average per plant every 3 days. I wish I had a light with a bit more penetration depth. I think next time, no more than 3 plants again and even less veg as I am already reaching my height limit (maybe another 8cm spare) and put in 12-12 @ 24cm,. Hopefully ~50days left.

Blazar Grow going steady. Feeding 10L of solution every 3 days now. plants dont tolerate much above 800ppm. Last res change was 11 days ago, i will do one @ 14 days. Th canopy is crowded, but I've been stripping all the lower growth thats getting no light. I also chopped one big stem a few days ago by accident and have been clipping the off shade leaf. Buds s forming now, but I reckon it will be a slow finishing grow.

Blazar Day 36 12-12. Stretching has slowed down. Temperatures have increased here, so I started the AC last week. All lower growth is now fully stripped and no more defoliation. The Zokkas have taken over most of the growth space and completely dwarfed the Zombie plant. The mody dick seems to be the best out of them all. Growth seems fine, if a bit lopsided again. I seem to get more stretch on the right side every time. The plants are drinking & feeding a lot, which is good. I'm hoping 5-6 weeks remaining, that will be 71-78 days 12-12.

Blazar Plants have stopped stretching finally and are starting to pack on weight. Hopefully about 5 weeks left. They are really starting to smell now, interesting tropical flavors. I'm starting to dial back the micro and increasing the bloom nutrients. Still nice green leafs, so there's plenty of room to increase the bloom nutrients. Plants are drinking less since the ambient temperatures dropped a bit. No AC needed.
