Planted in a solo cup temporarily using Fox Farms Happy Frog and lime (2 tbsp lime per gallon soil) with. Watered with plain water pH'd to 6.5 on 5/16/19,
Watered on 5/19/19 with water pH'd to 6.5. Using a spray bottle several times a day to spritz plant and keep soil moist. Transplanted to 3 gallon fabric bag and watered with Fox Farms Grow Big and Big Bloom diluted down to 1/4 recommended dosage pH'd to 6.5. Also followed the feeding with an additional watering of plain water pH'd to 6.5 for dilution (1/4 gallon with nutes, 1/4 gallon without). Runoff was around 6.7,
Watered with 3/4 gallon pH'd to 6/3. Runoff was between 6.8 and 6.9. Continued LST and added the ring to the pot to help tether. Because the plant is untopped, I am trying to keep what will be the main cola tethered to the ring.
Started off week 3 with a watering of RO water pH'd to 6.3 due to previous read off of 7. Runoff was 6.5. Even though I am 2 days away from my target goal of a 3 week defoliation, I decided to giver her a haircut today. This is my first time clipping the popcorn buds to try to encourage the main bud growth. I believe this is called lollipopping? Once again I feel like I had a heavy had however with 3 plants side by side, they needed to be defoliated for light purposes (was starting to get a lot of shade from the huge main fan leaves.
Watered on 6/24/19 with a feed of 3 tsp Big Bloom, 2 tsp Tiger Bloom and 2 tsp Grow big in 1 gallon of water. Used the entire gallon even though there was quite a bit of runoff. Water was pH'd to 6.3 and runoff was around 6.8.
The girls went a little long between watering (5 days) and this girl especially was definitely showing signs of drooping and being unhappy. Watered on 7/13/19 with 1 gallon pH'd to 6.3 with 2 tsp Fox Farms Tiger Bloom and 3 tsp Fox Farms Big Bloom. Runoff was between 6.9 and 7. I am unsure what is keeping the runoff so high when I am intentionally hitting the low end of the pH to try and correct it. Within 30 min she perked right back up and looked like normal. What is really strange about this girl is that she is the one who was going to be untopped and her top broke off during training. What I thought would be tough to recover from turned out to be a blessing. I believe since her top went, she focused a serious amount of growth in the buds that were left resulting in some of the fastest buds I have grown to date. She is stacking beautifully and I think this one may end up being my favorite. Depending on how the end product is, I may order these seeds again because this is a wonderfully hardy plant.
Plant was watered with 1 gallon pH'd to 6.3 around 7/18/19. Watered again on 7/23/19 with 1 tsp Fox Farms Tiger Bloom and 3 tsp Fox Farms Big Bloom. Once again went a little too long between waterings and she was pretty droopy. Took her about an hour to perk back up. Despite continuing to keep my pH on the low end to correct a continued runoff of around 7, for the last 4-5 weeks the runoff has continued to be high. Added 1/2 cup lime as a top feed and raked it in. Watered with another 1/4 gallon to activate it.
Watered with plain water on 7/31/19 pH'd to 6.3. Runoff was finally at a reasonable pH at 6.8. I am beginning to flush with no more nutrient feedings and a full gallon of water during the watering for the next two weeks as we are in the home stretch. I will increase the amount of water given per watering over the next two weeks. Right now it is wanting water about every 3 day. The last feeding proved to be a little too heavy as the plant began showing signs of nute burn over the week. Very difficult to determine if there is any leaf fade with the burn.
Watered with 1 gallon pH'd to 6.3 plain water on 8/3/19 with runoff around 6.7. Fan leaves continue to fade. No trich check as it was last done about 3 days ago.
Watered on 9/8/10 with plain water pH'd to 6.3 Runoff was once again back up to around 7. Leaf fade is becoming much more significant. Trichs appear mostly cloudy with some beginning to amber. Most hairs have turned brown. This is probably ready to be cut but I would like to try and squeeze one more week out of it. I'd ike to get in a final flush and hope to get a few more ambers before harvest.
Plants had a very heavy flush in preparation for harvest on 8/12/19 of 3 gallons pH'd to 6.3. The majority of the hairs have turned, she has significant amount of fade and yet the trichs while mostly cloudy, still seem to have a bit of clear and absolutely very little amber. She has started sucking the nutes from her sugar leaves so she looks like a beautiful fall flower from above. The weight of the buds has become pretty significant so I had to do a little tying of the stems to the ring to get them to stand upright. Discovered around 5-6 nanners on her roommate and believe I may have found the beginnings of 1-2 on her. Contemplated just chopping her but because I watered them today, I pulled the nanners and will let her dry out for a few days before I chop.
Harvested on 8/21/19 and dried plant whole due to previous grows seemingly drying out too fast. Plant was dry trimmed on 8/29/19. Jars were only at 55/57 after 24 hours so a Boveda pack was added to each. Jars currently around 60. Sampled the product before the cure. I do not love sampling before the cure but will usually at least try. Taste was smooth enough to finish and somewhat enjoy. Will report back again in around 4 weeks with my final thoughts.
