Hello everybody this is my first time I’m growing cannabis. My idea is to start with two plants and check how they do.
The strain I’ve chosen seems perfect for beginners, let’s just hope for the best!
If anybody watching my diary sees something wrong going on please let me know, I’ll be pleased to listen and improve myself.
Peace out
DAY 0 UPDATE : For the moment I’ve just put 3 seeds into the dirt hoping to get 2 of them germinating.
DAY 3 UPDATE : Seems like all three seeds have germinated, I think I’m gonna transplant the biggest one tomorrow and wait a bit more for the other one. I won’t have enough light to let them all grow so I’ll choose which one to keep when it’ll be time.
DAY 5 UPDATE : Two of the three seedling have been transplanted into 10 l pots, hope I didn’t do anything wrong with it. I’ll keep you informed.
DAY 7 UPDATE : The transplant seems to be fine, plants are growing slowly but they seem kind of healthy. First one from seed done and I consider myself happy with what it turned out to be.
Sadly enough one of the two plants died...
A friend of mine accidentally fell down exactly on one of the two seedlings. It was a very sad day.
Anyway since it’s my first time I realize that much more can be done and I’m gonna treat this last plant like an experiment to become more and more skilled. I’ve bought a 300W led pannel that I think is gonna make the difference over the CFL’s bulbs.
DAY 14 UPDATE: So far so good I guess, plant is growing slowly but I can see changes day by day.
Third week (from seed not from germination) kicks in and I’d say the little plant seems healthy to me...
The only thing I’m concerned about is the fact that she is maybe a bit small compared to the others diaries that I check here on this site. Does anybody know if I’m wrong?
DAY 16 update: the third set of leaves is coming up, so nice!
DAY 17 update: seems like some leafs are turning upwards and I’m concerned about it, is it because of over - watering (?)
DAY 21 update: week 3 has ended, in my opinion the plant looks too small for its age but healthy at the same time. Being the first time I consider myself happy with this, let’s see how it turns out to be in a few weeks!
I’m afraid my plant is growing reeeally slow (at least compared with the other royal dwarfs here on this site) even tho the overall color and leafs seem fine to me. Is there something I’m doing wrong? Should I worry? Thank you all for your time!
Your plant looks fine but looks bit over watered that can cause slowed growth. Water only like a coffee cup every three days or so. Don't need much water yet. Also you can lift your light to 40cm to make plant grow longer node spacing. If too close it will grow slow upwards.
Happy growing hope this helps and you get it going!
Fourth week in and the plant is getting bigger!
I’ve done what my friend @LongJohn420 has told me to, meaning that I’m now giving a bit less water until It really needs it and I’ve also pushed my light a bit more far away from her.
The last leaves seem to be burned on the edges so I think this is due to too many nutrients even tho the only thing I’ve added to the soil is the “easy boost” from RQS.
DAY 28 update : The week is finished and I start to see some white pistils coming out from the nodes! The plant overall is pretty small but I have to say that I happy with my results considering the fact that one month ago I didn’t know ANYTHING about the growing world. I’ll keep you informed for next week’s changes.
We can now clearly see the white pistils coming out from the nodes, a bit of defoliation and LST have been done even if I said I wasn’t gonna do any training on my first grow. It’s just so that all the canopy can now get the right amount of light and air circulation. Will keep updating!
DAY 33 update: It seems like the plant has stopped growing and is now concentrated only in making flowers.
A lot of things actually change during this week. She’s been stretching a lot lately and the smell got actually stronger to a point where my neighbors could suspect something was going on. For this reason I decided to wait no longer and invest on a 60x60x160 grow box. Lights have been brought back to 20cm so that those flowers can fatten up as much as possible. Also, I’ve switched my light schedule to 24 hours a day because I heard it could only benefit the plant. Last but not least, I ordered some rope hangers so that the light from now on will always be set at the perfect height (the package will get to me next week I guess).
Will keep you updated! 😎
Yo fellas!
Not much to report for this week’s growth. The stretch has officially finished and she’s kind of fatting her buds up. What I can say for sure is that the smell actually got A LOT more pungent and weedy. Lights are hung at 15cm from the very top so that they are at their peak point.
Things are getting interesting, I can’t wait to see how she will finish up! Will keep you informed. 😎✌️
DAY 48 update: Temps in my city are running lower than the usual and this is a very good point since I don’t have any ac to use for the lady.
Hello friends!
8th week basically done and all she’s doing is getting frostier and frostier by the day. She now drinks also a lot, about 3 liters of water every 2 days, and I think I won’t raise it any higher than that since it seems a pretty balanced amount for my late-flowering lady. The smell is now very intense and pungent, I can’t wait to let her finish up!
I’ll keep you updated, stay lifted. 😎✌️
Hello everybody!
63 days have passed since I planted her and things are getting serious now, the leaves are fading and the odor has got reeeally skunky and pungent.
I am ready to say goodbye and chop her down.
The pistils are at a ratio of 50/50 and most of the trichomes are cloudy, so I would say it’s about time. Let’s see how she looks once she’s dry.
Will keep you updated, stay lifted y’all 😎
So here we are. THE END.
I have a lot of thoughts going on on my mind at the moment such as “how could I have done it better?” or “WOW I would have never imagined to get to the end of this cycle getting something out of her”. And in fact, thinking more deeply about these thoughts I realize that the have some bases.
I should have bought a right light from day 1 and not from day 15.
I should have fed her less of the RQS easy boost fertilizer.
I should have given her less water the first weeks.
I DEFINITELY had to wait a few more weeks to maximize my yield.
But you know what? It’s all experience and I feel happy with it. I now am much more confident at growing and this is all that really matters right now. Can’t wait to start a new grow (probably on September) and improve myself even more.
Now some technical data:
-Nice 65 grams of wet weight for her.
-22 grams of dried and actual smokable weight.
-63 days from start to finish.
-Only fertilizer used is the Easy boost form RQS.
-Dried in 4-5 days.
-The curing process has officially begun, I’ll burp the two jars each day for the first week, twice a week for week 2-4 and then only if needed.
I’ve smoked it only once up until now and the taste is a bit hearty, while the high feeling it gives goes straight to the head, classical sativa.
To sum up, I’m REALLY happy with the results considering that everything was new to me, It has really been a magnificent experience. Thank you for you time reading this, I’ll see you in my next and second grow.
For the moment that’s all I have to say, and as always, stay lifted y’all. 😎👊
@Alpaca, after a lot of studying and learning I’ve come to the conclusion that just a bit of LST can only be good to the plant even if I’m a noob. Thank you for the advice!!
@Trenki, My first grow were also royal dwarfs, didnt do any training to understand growing a bit better. Everyone here is super helpful so if youre confused about nutrients or anything theres plenty of help to be found
Please don't chop yet! She is looking great but needs more time. Leave for three weeks more and you will double your yield and increase potency imo....
@hcf2012, I read this comment too late... 😞
I guess it’s another thing learned as a first time grower.
Thank you for the suggestion tho! I really appreciate that 😎👊
