Jelly Weed and Fem Seeds - Making of

WeedbayGarden All four plants in veg. Cuttings taken well over a month ago, just been kept alive under small powered led light until some space gets free'd up in the bigger tents. I cherry picked the best looking clones for this round, all of the plants had developed a nice root structure so I'm sure we will get some real nice growth when the transplant shock wears off. The plants are going to be hand watered until they root in their new 3gal pots completely, then I will start to use an Ebb&Flood tray for watering. Flowering and rest of the veg will happen in a Homebox 2x4 tent (120x60x180cm) with two led fixtures most likely. I have used this setup before, and it seems to be working as intended. I use two carbon filters connected to the exhaust fan, one in pull - one in push configuration. This way I don't get any scent escaping from the tent. For reservoir I have a Wave pump to circulate the water, and on top of that Bluelab Guardian Monitor PH + EC meter that connects to my phone. I also own a RuuviTag temperature + humidity metering system which also connects to my phone. This way I will get all the needed information even when I'm not around the grow tent. For humidity removal I have three 20L dehumidifiers hose connected to 90L reservoir which gets emptied with water pump. I also asked my electrician friend to make me a emergency switch that turns off power from all the dehumidifiers when water level gets too high in the reservoir. This is a must have when dealing with large masses of liquid. In this grow diary I will be trying to make feminized seeds by using colloidal silver water spray to one of the Dragons Blood Hashplant to turn it into male and to get some fem pollen out of it. Then I will use that pollen to pollinate bottom nugs on all the three Hella Jellies.

WeedbayGarden Plants are stretching quite a bit while waiting for bigger tent to be unoccupied. Also noticed some discoloration on top growth, will look into this better when I get these plants on the Ebb&Flood table. That way I can get proper drainage going for the run off water, now the pots just sit in the excess water which isn't ideal at all. Once these plants are moved, I will then do some mega supercropping and trellising, but more about that later :) OH! For the Fem seeds I made the colloidal silver spray already so I just need to get the bigger tent available. Until then... 17.4 Finally I had the chance to move the plants from the small tent into a bigger one! Straight away I supercropped all the branches and threaded the shoots thru the trellis nets. I used two trellises, should be enough to contain these for a week or two. As you might now, time waits for no man, therefore I flipped my timer to flowering cycle straight away. I should be getting plenty of stretching within first two weeks so I will be controlling the branches every two days. Until then ;)

WeedbayGarden 22.4 | F5 - Raised base nutrients just a little bit, I have also been hand watering for five days in the big tent and now that I have emptied up the ebb&flood reservoir its ready to be filled up again to get the automation bit going. Lights are set at 100w each, letting the plants get used to flowering and higher light amount and then starting to raise the wattage until my environment doesn't let me do it anymore (too high heat, imbalanced vpd etc). I did notice one thrip that was close to being adult so I ordered more predator mite satchels to keep the infestation down. After this grow I will disassemble and deep clean all the equipment and keep a short break to get rid of the pesky little boogers. I started to spray my Dragons Blood Hash Plant pollen donor plant on 4/20 and have been spraying it once a day since. I will continue to spray it for a few more days, then i'm flipping that tent also into flowering to get some fem pollen out of the donor plant. Not sure if I managed to make the colloidal silver spray correctly but we will see in the upcoming weeks I guess 😅

WeedbayGarden 25.4 | F8 - Raised light wattage to 120w each light and also turned on two 20L dehumidifiers to combat rising RH% in the room. Now we are at 27C and 65%, which seems to be just right for the plants. EC right at 1.2EC, one five minute flood each day to get the plants enough water. Foliage looks really nice and lush green which I ofc love to see. Since I raised the light amount in the tent I will be keeping my eye on the plants to make sure I feed the plants enough nutrients, but not too much :) Canopy is starting to stretch thru the two installed trellis nets so I placed a third one into the tent. I still got one extra but we should be just fine with three since these plants aren't that stretchy. Crazy how fast the whole canopy gets filled with new growth, should be a really nice round coming up! 27.4 | F10 - Dragons Blood Hashplant is starting to get some spots on leaves from the colloidal silver spray so there is still a chance it might work after all! 29.4 | F12 - Added 20 predator mite pouches into the tent, I got some hanging at canopy level and some at the base stem of the plants. Should keep those nasty thrips in check.

WeedbayGarden 5.5 | F18 - Hey! Welcome to a new week with me! Plants have stretched like 20cm over a week, been a real struggle trying to control these branches. I'm not gonna lie to you guys, I did snap like 5 tops while bending these so obviously too dry pots and not enough silica, which is no wonder since I haven't been giving silica in the last two weeks. But anyways tent does still look like an absolute beauty. I have continued to spray my Dragons Blood Hashplant trying to get it to grow some pollen sac's or as we usually call em 'Balls'. Still haven't noticed any so I will continue my daily colloidal silver spray's.

WeedbayGarden 8.5 | F21 - I DID IT! Looks like the Dragon's Blood Hash plant is finally showing some male parts! Plenty of chunky looking balls developing, I just hope that these also contain some pollen for me to continue this project. Anyways! This is great progress, I will continue to spray the reversed plant and will be posting pics of pollen gathering when it's time for that. Until then, keep posted! Oh, and what comes to the 2x4... As you can see, all the branches are well separated so I shouldn't have any problem with airflow and excessive humidity if things continue as they are now.

WeedbayGarden 16.5 | F29 - Tent looks like it needs another defoliation one week after the first one. Also noticed all the leaves on the plants looking super dark green, and some small clawing happening at the tips of the leaves so I will lower the EC to 1.2 for a week or until I start to see some improvements. Good to have some nitrogen in the plants but not too much to limit the buds growing :) Other than that, looking real nice since we got plenty more flowering days to come still! I did clean up the reversed plant from excess stems that were throwing pistils, since we only want the pollen saved. I thought about placing paper sheets on the bottom of the tent to catch the falling pollen, or just doing it manually like playing "Surgeon" hahaha. I will update you on which plant I decided to go with ;)

WeedbayGarden 24.5 | F37 - Plants are slowly gaining some size, not expecting any huge nuggets but there's gonna be lots of small ones 8) Reversed plant is throwing balls like crazy, going to give the plant two more days and then I'm trying to collect some pollen. Going to be using a glass food container to transport the pollen out of the apartment and do the collection at another spot. Now I'm just worried about getting a load of pollen airborne and messing up my round. Hopefully I manage to do it without fucking up, summer without herb would be lame as hell. Outside temperatures have gone to +10C 24/7 which causes some temperature rises inside the tent. Still too early for AC unit hookup to window so I will thug it out as best as I can. What comes to nutrients, I raised the Coco A+B back to 1.5m/L, continuing to check out the plants as we go. 26.5 | F39 - I successfully gathered small amount of pollen and selected a couple #1 Hella Jelly branches and one #3 Hella Jelly branch to be pollinated straight away. I know F39 isn't ideal moment for pollination but If I take these branches to F70 I might get some viable feminized seeds. I will keep you posted, stay tuned ;)

WeedbayGarden 2.6 F46 - I have noticed the main nugs starting to bulk a bit, but still wish there will be a late spurt for these :) EC has been at 1.2 now, plenty of nutrients in the plants still so no need to over feed these. Noticing more and more thrip damage on the leaves, whole room definitely is due for a deep clean after this round. Outside temperatures made me turn down the light to 240w, meaning 120 watts each panel. 4.6 F48 - Looks like pollination for all the selected nugs worked and you can see seeds forming, great news! Now we just have to steer this round to the end nice and smooth :)

WeedbayGarden 9.6 F53 - This waiting is turning awful. Thrip infestation is getting more and more spread out, I have now been manually killing new nymphs from top of leaves with paper tissue but there is only so much I can do with just my hands. Yield is for sure going to be diminished compared to earlier ones but hey, what can you do! Outside temperatures are now at stable 15-22C which also raises temps inside the tent, which, of course, is not ideal at all. But yeah oh well, I will still document the end of this round and hopefully get some tester fem seeds out, those at least have something going on in em.
