CheeRz Week 0: Germination – The Sweet Start 🍦🍪
Strain Info
Strain: Biscotti Vanilla Auto
Breeder: DutchFem (Vanilla Kush x Biscotti)
Type: Autoflower
Medium: BioBizz All-Mix (11L Final Pot)
🚀 Season Kick-off!
Starting my run with the Biscotti Vanilla Auto from Dutch Fem. I’m really excited about this specific cross of Vanilla Kush and Biscotti. The plan is a controlled indoor pre-veg in the tent for about 3-4 weeks, followed by a move to the outdoor tomato tent in mid-May. ☀️☁️
Setup & Strategy: 🛡️
The 11L pots are filled with BioBizz All-Mix, which I’ve pre-activated 36h before planting. Since my tap water is quite soft, I’m closely monitoring the CalMag levels from day one to keep the buffering capacity of the All-Mix stable. 💧
The "bodyguards" (Lavender 💜 and Marigolds 🌼) are already being prepped to ensure a discrete and pest-free environment once she moves outside! 🐛🚫
Grower’s Notes 💭
Goal for this week: Successful sprout and establishing a deep taproot. I’m playing it safe with the All-Mix by using a small 'light-mix zone' around the Jiffy to ensure the young roots don't get overwhelmed. Next stop: Explosive veg growth!

Grower’s Notes ✍️
Part of the game, even with top-tier breeders. It's frustrating when a seed stays dormant, but better to find out now than in Week 3. Staying positive and moving on to the next one! ✌️🌱
@Dutchfem_Seeds, Honestly, it did germinate, but it just didn't manage to stand up or pull through. I was really hyped for this one because I got it as a gift at Cannafair after a great chat with one of your staff. The strain sounded amazing, so it’s a real pity it didn't make it! 🌿💔
@CheeRz, this happens a lot with the tissue germination method. We wrote a blog about why it’s better not to use this method. Unfortunately many growers still use this method while the results are very inconsistent 🤷 It’s a shame as it would probably have been doing great if it was germinated directly in soil. Better luck next time 🤞 https://www.dutchfem.com/dont-do-wet-tissue-germination-method/
@CheeRz, The shock from tissue to soil is very hard for these new borns. It can take up to 10 days for them to adjust to the new medium they are on. That is why we keep promoting germination direct in soil, to give them the best possible start. There is nothing to gain from germinating in tissue but all to lose. Sorry for your loss but as you can see on other growdiaries from Biscotti Vanilla... it is a great strain. Better luck next time! Cheers!
