Itashish Preparing the germination pot and the final pot while waiting for the seeds. The substrate is an equal mix of homemade soil, imo4, and coconut fiber. For the imo4, the preparation is in one of my previous diaries. The soil comes from several mixes of old living soil that has been worked on for several years, and I can’t remember the exact composition. I don’t know if it’s suitable and balanced in nutrients for FAF; only time will tell. For the final pot, it will be a hanging pot placed in full sun, and FAF will be positioned upside down after it has been repotted once it has rooted well in its germination pot, I’d say around the 3rd or 4th week. Watering will be done with willow water. To be as original as possible, I’m trying this method; I hope everything goes well! 🤞 Thanks to the Khalifa team for the seeds and for the contest; I wish everyone happy growing and good competition! 🤞🌱

Week 1. Vegetation

Itashish I started another seed, the first one died from the heat. I had put it in a black pot and the soil was boiling from the heat accumulation, it killed the seedling. When I dug up the soil, it must have been at least 50/60°, I had a hard time holding it in my hand because it was so hot. Now I opted for a geo textile pot for better root aeration and to avoid heat accumulation. I hope this seedling doesn't die too!

Week 2. Vegetation

Itashish The second one survived! For now, she's doing well. She just decided to make a little hat with her cotyledon. I'm being careful not to let her get caught in the rain.

Itashish Everything is going well, the genetics are slow in the first weeks, but the mix of my soil wasn't ideal, so it slowed down even more. I did a watering with aloe vera and another watering with compost tea containing worm guano, spirulina, brewer's yeast, bee pollen, and fermented plant juice made from nettles, all mixed in willow water that had been steeping for 5 days, a tea rich in hormones to boost her. Since applying the tea, there has been an increase in growth. I hope it will improve moving forward!

Itashish Still no noticeable improvement in growth, but Frosty is doing well, can't wait to see what happens next! Seed sprouted on May 26th.

Itashish Germinated seed May 26. The goat has been repotted into its final pot, it finally has its head upside down! I’ve posted photos of the steps below, it was easier than I thought to get there. First, I fixed a stainless steel ruler to a post. I put clay pebbles on the surface of the geotextile pot. I wrapped the goat in cellophane. I passed it through the drainage hole and removed the cellophane. I cut the geotextile to remove it. I filled the pot with potting soil. I added all the ingredients (photo6) as a top dress (except for the yeast which was used for watering) and topped it off with hay as mulch. I cut a white paper sheet to the diameter of the pot to cover the mulch like a tarp even though I know it won’t be as effective as a tarp, but it will help keep everything as moist as possible and speed up the decomposition of the top dress. I fixed the goat to its guide. And I placed it in its final location. Now all that's left is to let it grow, hoping it works well; by doing this, I hope to encourage branching. The Goat is a bit in the shade since it has its head upside down, but that’s not a bad thing given the current sun intensity (+45 degrees Celsius). Can’t wait to see the rest of the adventure! Let’s grow🌱🍀

Itashish What to say...? Aside from the fact that this is marked as a failure? The soil mix given to Frosty probably wasn't suitable for him to end up with such damage, surely a nutrient overload or too much salt buildup or pH fluctuations. I don't know the source of the problem, but I know he has one. I repotted him in my vegetable bed so he has a better nutritional base and can at least finish his growth. I can recognize a flop and that he won't give his best, that's just how it is. Consider this a stress test now, we'll see if with all this, he becomes a hermie or not. I wish you all intergalactic terpenes in your grows, let's grow 🙏🌱🍀

Double mistake on my part that resulted in a failure. One due to a pot that accumulated too much heat and a second because of a bad soil mix. Sorry to the Khalifa team for messing up twice with the seeds given from this amazing genetic. I'll do better next time. Can't wait to see the harvests from the other participants, may the best one win!

@Khalifa_Genetics, indeed, but auto freak is really difficult with nutrition as it's quite easy to over-fertilize it. During repotting, I probably added too much spirulina and it doesn't seem to appreciate it. It's taken a hit on its leaves. Or maybe it's a big pH fluctuation, hard to pinpoint the problem. I don't think it's going to be the goat it should be, but we'll appreciate it anyway! 😂🌱

@Khalifa_Genetics, I can't really see the color nuances with the device I currently have. The leaves seem to have yellowed with some sort of burn at the tips near the lower node, the others don't look affected.

Stress and experiments don't seem to suit the FAF, as I've also noticed. Good luck with your lady, hopefully she'll feel better soon 💚🍀

@StellarCannaArtistry, my soil mix must not have been suitable, when I repotted it, it didn't like that, I put it in my vegetable bin but I feel like it took too big of a shock to recover properly. I already know when it's lost in advance, it's a failure and I'm not going to get anything from it. That's how it is, that's the game. I should have taken a light soil, not some unbalanced stuff that an auto can't handle, I'll do better next time. 🌱🙏🍀💚
