I found I still had some space in my grow room for a very small tent and some leftover LED lights that I wasn't using, so I'm going to do a quick phenotype hunt as a micro grow, SoG style - no topping, minimal veg time.
Edit: change of plan, they're going in the main tent, but still SoG style.
Edit again: topping them as well ...
That's them all potted up in 1-gallon fabric pots, think they'll veg for another 2 weeks or so. Have 3 more seeds soaking to join them, for a total of 13 phenotypes to choose from. =)
Early update. Potted the first 10 of them up today, from 3L to 9L fabric pots.
The smallest one, #2 which had a bit of a troubled start, went in a different veg space, didn't have space anymore among the main bunch.
Moved the first 10 of them into the flower space - it's a bit crowded in there but a few big planters are on their way out.
The other 3 are still vegging for at least a week.
Nothing much to report, been plucking the occasional bigger fan leaf here and there, but otherwise I'm just keeping them watered well. The soil mix seems spot on.
Think that's their flower stretch done (I hope), now the main buds should put on some weight over the next month.
The 3 later ones have actually stretched more, likely due to the light being at a different height for them.
This week I get an excuse to chop one of them a bit earlier than planned ... spotted #5 sporting a big fat bunch of bananas in one of her tops. Not wanting to take the risk of overlooking more of them I pulled her (didn't see any on the others, hoping for the best).
I've been harvesting a couple buds off here and there for the past week and decide to take 8 of them down today, the rest to follow next week. They're all good, but there are at least 3 of them that are vying to be kept around.
@BillMonroe, It's very expensive, which is why I only have so little of it. ;)
Aye, they're still very uniform at this point. #2 has some yellowing of the 1st leaf pair, probably something to do with the soil mix in that pouch, going to ignore that and keep watering with seaweed extract. The rest look very happy indeed.
@BillMonroe, Nice one =) I've grown a couple of them before, freebies, but have yet to come across a keeper pheno. Surely these here must contain one or two? ;)
Currently re-arranging the grow spaces a bit, so will have space to pop the remaining 3 seeds I have - they'll just be a couple weeks behind these 10.
Wow, the one in the first photo is a fast one! That is it in week 6/7? Impressive. It also has that interesting bud structure and the singular sugar leaves look quite different.
@BillMonroe, 1st one is one of 3 that are like that, they're also the best smelling: parmesan-like cheese smell and sour cream with a bit of lemon zest. Noms. Nom nom noms.
I have a few rooted cuttings, but not of all of them - lost a couple the other week. Probably going to try and get new cuttings of them some time during flower and reveg those. TBH I'm very likely to keep more than one out of these 13 at first. Eliminate the mediocre ones this time around, and pick a favourite in a 2nd grow with the clones, then I'll also have more time for smoke comparisons. I had a hard time deciding between 5 Desfrán plants, imagine me with 13 fairly uniform ones of these here. I may need 3 rounds to decide.
