S4nchi Another strain I chose for this year's outdoor season: Jack 47 XL Auto by Sweet Sweeds.
I've made many great experiences with Sweet Seeds in the past, there's no reason not to try out this variety. It just rings my oldschool love bell and hits my sweet spot for uplifting sativas. Jack Herer intelligence paired with a AK-47 punch is a combination I'm pretty interested in. Let' see how it turns out.
Seeds were kept in tap water for 18 hrs, then placed in Jiffy pots.

S4nchi This is the remaining Jack. The sole survivor. All her sisters were eaten or ripped out by birds. Let's go, Jack. Show'em!

S4nchi This week was rather cold, wet and grey. However, Jackie managed to grow a bit. To enhance root growth, she was fed with diluted aloe juice. I also added nematodes to the soil to keep bad stuff away. The upcoming days will get sunnier and warmer, let's see how they develop.

S4nchi Jackie, the bird stricken and replanted poor fella, has managed to deal with the trauma. At least to some degree. With roots re-growing and adaptation to the new soil in progress, she is getting somewhat bigger. In fact, big enough to be switched from top watering to wick bottom watering. Just in time for the massive heat wave which has been predicted for the upcoming days.
Like in basically each of my grows, the soil surface was covered with douglas pine mulch about an inch thick. It helps to reduce water consumption and to prevent the precious micro-life from getting toasted. It also helps keeping bugs away. Not to mention the wonderful smell of a summer pine forest, of course.
Go Jackie go!

S4nchi Jackie is doing nicely, doubling its size within a week. Which was pretty hot and sunny with temperatures around 40°C on the sunny balcony. Facing south, we get about 10 hours of pure, unfiltered sun. Jackie seems to love it.
