GreenHobbit The Hobbit Hole Outdoor Grow 2026 Week 2 – Rain, Riddles, and the First Survival Struggle The second week in the Hobbit Hole had everything an outdoor grower really doesn’t need – rain, wind, cool temperatures, and mysterious visitors. While many outdoor plants are currently enjoying the first sunny summer days, the little Hobbit crew had to prove themselves first. Instead of an explosion of growth, there was a week full of challenges. The weather showed its rough side. Constant rain, little sunshine, and temperatures that reminded more of spring than summer. Visible growth remained limited at first. Nevertheless, the plants look healthy and vital. Often, more happens underground than above during this phase. While the leaves are only slowly growing, the roots are already working on claiming their place in the soil of the Hobbit Hole. But the weather wasn’t the only surprise. Suddenly, small tunnels and disturbed spots appeared around the plants. Who was wandering around here remains a mystery for now. Mice, voles, or other residents of the bramble jungle? So far, none of the plants have been damaged, but the traces clearly show that the Hobbit Hole is not just inhabited by four Fast Buds. The first line of defense is holding strong so far. The copper rings are doing their job, and the snails also seem to have found no way to the young plants yet. However, the biggest scare of the week came from the Purple Punch. After a heavy rain shower, it was bent over and nearly lying on the ground. Fortunately, the stem remained intact. With a little support from a small stake, it could be propped back up. The new growth still looks healthy, so the chances are good that it will soon catch up. To protect the young plants from further heavy rain phases, a makeshift rain cover made from a light panel was installed. Not a permanent solution – but just right for this unusually wet week. Currently, the Guava Runtz is leading the field and showing the strongest growth. Right behind it is the Cinderella, which is already living up to its reputation as a vigorous and fast strain. The Gelato is also developing very nicely and presents itself as compact and healthy. The Purple Punch is currently in last place, but it is visibly fighting back after its involuntary contact with the ground. The weather forecast finally promises what the Hobbit Hole has been waiting for: sunshine, warmth, and significantly better conditions. If the plants have indeed used the past days to anchor their roots deep in the soil, the coming week could be the moment when small seedlings become real outdoor plants. Summer can now gladly begin. 🌱🏡☀️

GreenHobbit The Hobbit Hole Outdoor Grow 2026 Week 3 – The Sun Returns After two weeks full of rain, wind, and minor setbacks, the weather has finally turned in favor of the Hobbit Hole. The past few days brought exactly what the four little ladies had been waiting for: sun, warmth, and significantly better conditions for growth. And even though the plants are still far from their later size, the difference was clearly visible within just a few days. For the first time since being planted outdoors, you could actually see in the morning that they had grown overnight. The difficult initial phase seems to be over. The roots have had enough time to spread in the soil of the former spruce slope, and now growth above ground is noticeably picking up. Especially Cinderella has made a little sprint this week. The first three-fingered leaf pair is now significantly more pronounced than with the other plants, and she is currently taking the lead in the Hobbit Hole. Right behind her is Guava Runtz, which continues to look very vigorous and is developing into a serious competitor. Gelato is showing its usual balance and health. No frantic growth, but a very clean and stable development. Purple Punch is currently still in last place, but is also making visible progress. After its unwanted contact with the ground last week, it now looks significantly recovered and is pushing out new growth. The protective measures also seem to be serving their purpose. The copper rings are still holding up, and so far, neither snails nor other garden inhabitants have caused any serious damage. What particularly pleased me this week was the development of the entire area. Just a few days ago, there were four little seedlings here struggling against rain and wind. Now, the Hobbit Hole is slowly starting to become exactly what I envisioned: a small hidden outdoor grow right among blackberries, elderberries, and plenty of nature. It's still just the beginning. But for the first time, I feel that the plants are no longer just surviving, but starting to grow. And that’s exactly what I’ve been waiting for. GreenHobbit The Hobbit Hole Outdoor Grow 2026 Week 4 – Summer has arrived… and nature is showing its teeth. This week felt like the real beginning of the Hobbit Hole. After the rainy and cool days of the past weeks, summer finally made an appearance. Three consecutive days of sunshine were enough to give the little autos a noticeable growth spurt. Almost as if they had just been waiting to finally get started. The development of the leaves was particularly striking. All four plants have now formed their first five-fingered leaves – for me, always one of the most beautiful moments in early growth. From this point on, they no longer look like little seedlings, but like real cannabis plants. Of course, the Hobbit Hole wasn't completely spared this week either. As usual, all the plants received a precautionary treatment with Neem to spoil pests' appetites as early as possible. The copper rings continued to do their job reliably – or at least I thought so. Then came the setback. The Guava Runtz, which until then was one of the strongest plants, was completely taken out by a snail. It probably took advantage of the spot where a burrowing animal had previously damaged the copper protection. The stem was simply chewed through, and the rest lay beside it😓 Unfortunately, moments like these are part of a real outdoor grow. Annoying? Absolutely. But that's exactly why I document such setbacks. Not every grow goes perfectly, and nature has its own rules. As a direct consequence, Cinderella immediately received a second copper ring as an additional safeguard. Better to be overly cautious than to lose another plant. The little incident has also reshuffled the field. Gelato is now taking the lead and is currently developing the strongest. Right behind it is Cinderella, who continues to confirm her reputation as a fast and vigorous strain. The Purple Punch has also recovered surprisingly well after her rocky start and is slowly catching up. With each week, it becomes clearer that the real work underground has long been done. The roots seem to have firmly established themselves in the soil, and the above-ground growth is now visibly following suit. Outdoor doesn't mean being able to control every situation. You work with the weather, with insects, with snails, with animals, and sometimes against them. That's what makes this project so exciting for me. Three hobbits are still standing in the Hobbit Hole. And now the real battle begins.

GreenHobbit Week 5 – Vacation? Nature just keeps going. 🌿☀️ This week, there's an update from afar. I'm currently enjoying my vacation while my little guy is at home checking on things and taking care of the plants. A huge thank you for that! 💚 And what can I say... the Hobbit Hole is developing just as I had hoped. The Gelato is currently leading the little field and continues to gain size nicely. Right behind it is the Cinderella, which is also growing strong and slowly developing a nice branching structure. The Purple Punch has visibly caught up in the last few days and now looks really healthy and vibrant. I'm especially happy that all three plants seem to have taken to their natural spot in the Hobbit Hole excellently. That was exactly the idea behind this project: to let them grow as naturally as possible and give the genetics the stage. Aside from watering, nothing needed to be done this week. No training, no pruning – just letting them grow and observing. 🌱 I'm already excited to see how the three will greet me when I'm back home. The first thing I'll do after vacation is, of course, visit the Hobbit Hole. GreenHobbit 🌿 Week 6 – The Hobbit Hole Outdoor Grow 2026 Another week is done, and the Hobbit Hole is developing just the way I hoped it would. After returning from vacation, I finally got to check on the plants myself – and I was definitely not disappointed. On Wednesday, I gave the first feeding with Hesi Bloom Complex, as all three plants are now visibly in bloom. The first flower clusters are getting bigger every day, and fresh white pistils are pushing out from the buds everywhere. Today, I also set up some supports. Especially outdoors, you never know when the next strong wind or summer storm will hit. Before the weight of the flowers becomes an issue later, all three plants are getting some early support. Current Size Comparison 🌿 Gelato: 120 cm 🌿 Cinderella: 90 cm 🌿 Purple Punch: 80 cm I'm particularly excited to see how differently the three genetics are developing. The Gelato is living up to its name and is currently growing the tallest by a wide margin. Cinderella and Purple Punch remain noticeably more compact, but they are also diligently forming flowers. It's also encouraging that the other three plants have so far come through the season almost unscathed. Aside from the half leaf that Cinderella lost to a snail at the beginning, there have been no significant damages so far. The snail protection seems to be doing exactly what it should. 🐌👍 The leaves continue to look healthy as well. Especially the large fan leaves are now showing impressive sizes and providing the plants with plenty of energy for the coming weeks. Now begins the phase I look forward to the most every year. Small flower clusters are gradually turning into real buds, and each week will be more visible than the last. GreenHobbit The Hobbit Hole Outdoor Grow 2026 – Week 7 The week started with the first small flower clusters – and just a few days later, the ladies are really getting going. I find it particularly exciting how differently the individual phenotypes are developing. While one plant with long internodes is shooting up and forming a classic Christmas tree shape, the others are growing much more compact and are setting their flowers closer together. Despite the differences, they all have one thing in common: The flowering has now officially arrived. Fresh, white pistils are pushing out from the calyxes everywhere, and the bud sites are slowly connecting with each other. This is exactly the phase I love the most every year because you can almost watch the plants grow. The resin isn't taking long to show up either. Already, the sugar leaves are covered with a fine layer of trichomes. For this early flowering stage, I am more than satisfied, and I’m curious to see how frosty the plants will get in the coming weeks. This week, I also fed them again according to the Hesi nutrient scheme: 🌱 Bloom Complex 🌱 Boost 🌱 PowerZyme 🌱 SuperVit I will wait about two more weeks before using Phosphor Plus, until the flowers really start to swell. Another milestone was my first biological pest prevention with predatory mites. Each plant now has a little bag with Amblyseius cucumeris attached to it, so thrips don’t even get a chance. After many years of growing experience, I know how quickly a pest infestation can escalate. I once had such a massive spider mite infestation that entire buds were webbed within 24 hours. That’s exactly why I now consistently focus on prevention rather than damage control. So far, the plan seems to be working. Despite the outdoor grow right in the “Hobbit Hole,” the plants are still free from significant pest infestations. Aside from a few fungus gnats that I brought in with the soil, the ladies look healthy and clean. Some growers have already asked me how that’s possible – I believe the combination of experience, regular checks, preventive neem during the growth phase, and now the predatory mites is slowly paying off. By the way, the photos this week were all taken with the new iPhone. I especially like the macro shots of the flowers. You can now see every single resin head, and the development can be documented much better than before. Now begins the phase where the flowers will visibly increase in size week by week. GreenHobbit The Hobbit Hole Outdoor Grow 2026 – Woche 8 Eine weitere Woche ist vorbei und das Hobbit Hole entwickelt sich genau so, wie ich es mir erhofft hatte. Die drei Ladies haben sich weiter unterschiedlich entwickelt und inzwischen erkennt man ihre individuellen Eigenschaften immer deutlicher. Gelato bleibt weiterhin die Spitzenreiterin. Sie war von Anfang an die größte Pflanze und verteidigt diesen Vorsprung bis heute. Die Hauptcola wird von Woche zu Woche kräftiger und ist mittlerweile komplett mit Harz überzogen. Auch die Seitenblüten legen sichtbar an Volumen zu. Sie wirkt insgesamt am weitesten entwickelt und scheint ihren Vorsprung auch in der Blüte beizubehalten. Cinderella bleibt ihr aber dicht auf den Fersen. Was ihr vielleicht noch minimal an Blütengröße fehlt, macht sie mit einer beeindruckenden Harzproduktion wett. Die Zuckerblätter glitzern inzwischen schon ordentlich in der Sonne und jedes neue Makrofoto macht einfach Spaß. Genau diese frostige Optik hatte ich mir von ihr erhofft. Purple Punch war anfangs etwas zurückhaltender, holt inzwischen aber Woche für Woche auf. Die Buds werden kompakter und man sieht deutlich, dass sie langsam Fahrt aufnimmt. Ich bin gespannt, ob sie in den nächsten Wochen noch einmal richtig zulegt. Die ersten Blätter im unteren Bereich beginnen nun langsam gelb zu werden. Für diesen Blütestand ist das völlig normal und zeigt, dass die Pflanzen langsam auf ihre Reserven zurückgreifen. Insgesamt sehen alle drei weiterhin gesund aus. Das Hobbit Hole entwickelt sich langsam genau zu dem kleinen Waldparadies, das ich mir vorgestellt habe. Zwischen Brombeeren, Hasel und den vielen Wildpflanzen wirkt alles unglaublich natürlich. Besonders morgens und abends entstehen dort mit dem Sonnenlicht richtig schöne Motive – einige meiner Lieblingsbilder stammen mittlerweile von diesem Platz. Ich freue mich jetzt besonders auf die nächsten Wochen. Die Blüten beginnen sichtbar anzuschwellen und das Harz nimmt jeden Tag weiter zu. She has been the biggest plant from the very beginning and continues to hold that position. Her main cola is getting thicker every week and is already covered in a beautiful layer of resin. The side buds are filling out nicely as well, making her the most advanced plant at this stage. Cinderella is right behind her. While her buds are still slightly smaller, she makes up for it with incredible frost production. The sugar leaves are sparkling in the sunlight and every new macro photo is a pleasure to take. This is exactly the kind of resin-covered beauty I was hoping for. Purple Punch had a slower start but is catching up week by week. Her buds are becoming denser and she finally seems to be gaining momentum. I’m really curious to see how much she will bulk up over the coming weeks. The first lower fan leaves are slowly starting to fade, which is completely normal at this stage of flowering as the plants begin using their stored nutrients. Overall, all three ladies still look healthy and vigorous. The Hobbit Hole is slowly turning into the little woodland paradise I imagined. Surrounded by blackberry bushes, hazel trees and wild vegetation, everything blends naturally into the landscape. Especially during sunrise and sunset, the light creates an amazing atmosphere, and some of my favorite photos so far have been taken right here. I’m really looking forward to the coming weeks. GreenHobbit The Hobbit Hole Outdoor Grow 2026 – Week 9 Another week has passed at the Hobbit Hole, and despite two days of continuous rain, the outdoor grow continues to thrive. Of course, I was a bit nervous, as without a solid roof over the plants, the risk of mold significantly increases during this flowering phase. I was all the more relieved when all three ladies were completely dry after the weather. Upon inspection, I found no signs of bud rot or other decay – exactly as I had hoped. Gelato remains the frontrunner. She is still the most developed plant, and her main cola is visibly gaining volume now. The side buds are also getting stronger week by week. In the lower area, some of the oldest fan leaves are starting to turn yellow. Since only the older leaves are affected and the buds themselves look perfectly healthy, I consider this a normal nutrient remobilization process during flowering. The first scattered amber trichomes can already be spotted, but overall, a milky appearance still dominates. So, she will need a bit more time until harvest. Cinderella is increasingly becoming the resin queen of the Hobbit Hole. Even now, the sugar leaves are extremely dense with trichomes, and every macro photo is just a joy. She appears a bit slimmer overall than the Gelato, but compensates for it with impressive resin production. I'm very curious to see how much the buds will swell in the coming weeks. Purple Punch is also catching up. The colas now look significantly more compact than just a few weeks ago, and the first darker shades are already showing on some sugar leaves. She is developing her own character and could end up being a real surprise in terms of flavor. There was also a small adjustment in fertilization. Since blackberries and wild vines in the Hobbit Hole are also enjoying the nutrients, I will now fertilize every second watering according to the Hesi scheme to balance out the additional consumption in the soil. Overall, I am more than satisfied with week 9. After the rainy days, all three plants look healthy, the buds are visibly gaining mass, and resin production continues to increase week by week. Now begins the phase where patience will pay off – the next few weeks will determine what potential the three ladies really have.

GreenHobbit The Hobbit Hole – Woche 10 Woche 10 ist geschafft – und langsam wird es im Hobbit Hole richtig spannend. Die drei Damen gehen inzwischen deutlich unterschiedliche Wege. Cinderella steht weiterhin sehr vital da und trägt inzwischen eine ganze Reihe schöner, frostiger Blüten. Unter dem Mikroskop zeigt sie überwiegend milchige Trichome, allerdings auch noch einige klare Köpfe und bislang kaum Amber. Sie bekommt also definitiv noch Zeit. Purple Punch gefällt mir diese Woche besonders gut. Die Blüten werden zunehmend kompakter und die dunklen bzw. violetten Farbtöne kommen immer stärker durch. Auch hier zeigt das Mikroskop hauptsächlich milchige Trichome mit noch einigen klaren Köpfen. Wirklich viel Amber ist noch nicht vorhanden – auch sie darf weiterreifen. Gelato bleibt dagegen die deutlich reifste der drei. Die Pflanze geht sichtbar in ihren herbstlichen Fade und unter dem Mikroskop sind inzwischen neben vielen milchigen Trichomen bereits eindeutig bernsteinfarbene Köpfe zu finden. Trotzdem werde ich sie noch nicht ernten. Ich möchte sie bewusst etwas weiter ausreifen lassen und bin gespannt, wie sich das Trichombild in den nächsten Tagen verändert. Besonders erfreulich nach dem wechselhaften Outdoor-Wetter: Alle Pflanzen sind vollständig abgetrocknet und weiterhin ohne sichtbare Anzeichen von Bud Rot oder anderer Fäulnis. Das bleibt jetzt natürlich einer der wichtigsten Punkte bei den täglichen Kontrollen. Ab jetzt entscheidet weniger der Kalender und immer mehr das Mikroskop. Die nächsten Tage könnten vor allem bei der Gelato interessant werden. 🇬🇧 English Week 10 is complete – and things are getting really exciting in the Hobbit Hole now. The three ladies are clearly starting to follow different paths. Cinderella still looks very healthy and has developed plenty of beautiful, frosty flowers. Under the microscope, most trichomes are cloudy, although there are still quite a few clear heads and hardly any amber so far. She definitely needs more time. Purple Punch is one of my favorites this week. Her flowers are becoming increasingly compact and the darker, purple shades are showing more and more. The microscope also shows mainly cloudy trichomes with some clear ones remaining. There isn’t much amber yet, so she will continue to ripen as well. Gelato, on the other hand, is clearly the most mature of the three. The plant is visibly entering her autumn fade, and under the microscope I can now see plenty of cloudy trichomes together with the first clearly amber heads. I’m still not harvesting her yet. I deliberately want to let her mature a little further and see how the trichome ratio develops over the coming days. The best news after the changeable outdoor weather: all plants have dried completely and there are still no visible signs of bud rot or other fungal problems. This will remain one of the most important things to check every day from now on. From this point forward, the calendar becomes less important and the microscope takes over. The next few days could be especially interesting for Gelato.
