KooKoo FOR COOA PUFFS PPFD - 400 DLI - 28.8 VPD - 1.03 LOOKS A LITTLE LIGHT IN COLOR. COULD BE A LACK OF NITROGEN? COULD BE TOO MUCH LIGHT? COULD BE A LITTLE OF BOTH? SOIL PH WAS AT 5.8 AT TIME OF TOPDRESSING. I BUMPED UP THE PH OF THE WATER TO BRING THE SOIL UP TO 6.35 PH (FOR THE MOMENT) PERHAPS MY LIVING SOIL GROW MEDIA REQUIRES A LOWER PH THAN A REGULAR SOIL MEDIA. GROW MEDIA ... 40% PROMIX 20% HAPPY FROG 20% WORM CASTINGS 10% PERLITE 10% RICE HULLS I DUNNO ... BUT I FED IT TODAY. i'LL ADD THAT TWO OTHER PLANTS IN THE SAME GROW MEDIA, AND GROW ENVIRONMENT, DON'T APPEAR THIS LIGHT IN COLOR.

KooKoo FOR COCOA PUFFS PPFD - 630 DLI - 45.36 VPD - 1.36 Well … this grow has become a salvage operation. Every day the past week I have considered pulling up the plant, mixing a new pot of soil and planting a new seed. However, I do not know why it got so stunted. So, I have decided to make this a learning situation. This is the 3rd grow in this soil, re-amended each time The base mix ( 5 gallon of mix ) for the first grow was: 40% Promix 20% Happy Frog 20% Worm Castings 10% rice hulls 10% perlite 5 tbsp Gaja Green All Purpose 5 tbsp Gaja Green Power Bloom 1 tbsp kelp meal 1 tbsp Glacial Rock Dust topdressed with 5tbsp All Purpose & 5 tbsp Power Bloom on day 28 topdressed with 3 tbsp All Purpose & 7 tbsp Power Bloom on day 49 topdressed with 5 tbsp power bloom on day 70 The first grow went good. The second grow ( with the same added amendments as first grow) had small plants and about ½ the bud weight as the first grow. This last grow is severely stunted. Why this is , I do not entirely know. The plants do seem to have way too much nitrogen. And I may have watered too much. Also, I tried to increase the ppfd a bit hoping it might produce a larger plant by flower time. It did not. I believe that over the course of the three grows in the same soil I have too much nitrogen, and other minerals, in the soil. As everything else has remained the same as the first grow. Today … my plan is to try to grow them all out as well as I can. The next grow I plan to dump ½ the soil out after each grow and replace with new mix. And add ½ as much Gaja Green as I have been. So … any thoughts and comments are certainly appreciated.

@squalino , Yes, i have several problems here. my first grow with this soil mix was great. The second was good, but yield coulde have been a bit larger. for this grow, re-amending the used soil, i greatly underestimated the amount of Nitrogen that was still in there from the two previous grows. also, i thought id try to give the plant more light early on, hoping that might make the plants a bit bigger when they began to flower. once i began to see signs of way too much nitrogen i watered way too much in an attempt to wash out some of the nitrogen. I regularly check the soil ph, it stays around 6.0 to 6.3. This grow has become a salvage opoeration, a learning experience, to see if i can get any smoke-able bud from it ... we"ll see. And thank you for your comment, i do appreciate it.
