Miketama Grow Diary Introduction This diary was created with the idea of recycling as much as possible and utilizing every single watt of power to its absolute maximum potential. Honestly, you could call this run a survival experiment. Right after harvesting my last grow, I reused the old soil and salvaged the previous Biotabs, which were still fairly intact (you can see photos of this in the germination week). These recycled tabs will be the backbone of the feeding schedule for this run. To reduce the bacterial load, I watered the soil with a water and turmeric mixture—though this probably knocked back the beneficial microbial life in the soil as well. For containers, I’m using some balcony pots with built-in saucers that I found out on the street and repurposed. I started the seeds in 0.25L of fresh substrate mixed with a little bit of mycorrhiza. Initially, the plan was to plant one NL and one AB per pot, but one AB failed to germinate, so I left one NL to grow by itself in one of the pots. Each pot has two recycled tabs, and so far, they’ve only been fed a couple of times with Orgatrex at 2ml/L. They germinated on April 1st and spent their first 45 days indoors. The first week was a real bottleneck for them, as they were placed inside a tent that was in late flowering, meaning the climate was totally wrong for seedlings. For the remaining 4 weeks, they shared the tent and kept the plants of the new indoor cycle company, staying in there for as long as space would allow. Afterward, I moved them to the veranda windowsill. They are currently kept inside, pushed up a bit tight against the window glass, which keeps them safely away from bad weather and pests.Currently, the plants are only getting about 5 to 6 hours of direct sunlight per day. Because of this, the buds aren't particularly dense, with the exception of the top colas on the Northern Lights. I'll probably dry and smoke those main apicals, as they turned out surprisingly nice and dense visually, especially considering the rough conditions they went through. The Afghan Bullet (AB), on the other hand, developed much smaller buds, but they are more balanced and greater in number. I'll be throwing the smaller NL buds in with these, making it absolutely perfect material for some top-tier bubble hash. As the master Frenchy Cannoli used to teach, overly dense buds aren't actually the best for washing bubble hash; this looser structure is exactly what you want for a great extraction.

Miketama 🍁 Cultivation Review: Afghan Bullet (Day 84) Genetics: Afghan Bullet Flowering/Harvest Time: Day 84 Main Goal: Extraction (Bubble Hash) Total Wet Weight: 130g 🔍 Plant Structure and Resin Production Growing Afghan Bullet for the first time, I was highly impressed by its structure. The plant shows exceptional uniformity across all buds, meaning there is a complete absence of apical dominance. The secondary branches fully kept up with the main cola, developing a beautifully even canopy. Another major highlight is the resin production: the plant is literally coated in trichomes, with excellent resin coverage extending even to the small-to-medium fan leaves, a clear sign of its high genetic potential for extractions. 🔬 Harvest Timing: Target Bubble Hash Harvest took place on Day 84, perfectly hitting the peak of milky trichomes. While the actual ease with which the heads separate from the stalks will only be seen during the washing process, harvesting at this stage is the number one objective for Bubble Hash. Milky trichomes offer the ideal texture and perfect maturity for smooth processing and optimal separation in ice water. ✂️ Harvest Management and Processing At harvest, I did a rough trim (the ideal approach for fresh frozen, preventing unnecessary damage to the resin glands) yielding a total wet weight of 130 grams. The biomass has been divided as follows: 75g (Select Buds) ❄️ ➔ Freezer (Fresh Frozen): Tossed straight into the sub-zero to lock in live terpenes and maintain trichome integrity for the upcoming wash. 30g (Buds) 💨 ➔ Drying: Set aside for a traditional dry. Since it’s my first time running this strain, I’m very curious to test the dried flower to evaluate its overall aroma, flavor profile, and smoke quality. 25g 🗑️ ➔ Waste Material: Large fan leaves and non-resinous material. 📝 Final Thoughts (First Run) This strain is shaping up to be a fantastic choice for extraction enthusiasts. The uniform bud development makes canopy management a breeze, and the heavy resin coverage on the mid-sized leaves points toward a great yield in the bags. Looking forward to the wash and the final smoke test!

Miketama Day 86 ❄️ Northern Lights Auto – Harvest Update (Fresh Frozen & Dry)This specific plant was grown all by itself in its own pot (unlike the other pot where I had 2 plants sharing the space) Total Wet Weight: 190g Dry Flower: 91g of unexpectedly dense buds have been set aside for a traditional dry and cure for smoking. Fresh Frozen: 65g of prime material went straight into the freezer for a future bubble hash extraction run. Waste: The remaining weight was trim and non-resinous fan leaves. Final Thoughts: Totally surprised by the incredible bud density on this run! I am extremely satisfied with the results of this cycle, especially considering the dialed-in light hours and my setup focused on recycling the soil and organic nutrients. Can't wait to see how the dried flowers smoke and how the fresh frozen performs in the wash.
