SarielGrow Maybe I’ve put my lady in a sea of potting soil 😅da 25L It's a 25L pot 🤯—I'll have to be patient while the roots spread, though the soil mix might be too heavy and is starting to cause issues; there's excess nitrogen—it's a deep forest green 🌲. I built this enclosure myself—after some trial and error and gauging my partner's reaction—and added everything needed to give her a romantic bed... hehe. Jokes aside, it was hard work; this is the first time I’ve tried setting up a vivarium again in three years, so I hope I pull it off.

SarielGrow I had to reduce the volume of the potting soil; the roots are still small and the volume was huge—it was as if the plant wasn't even there (the only thing missing was thrips). The nitrogen problem persists; no fertilizers.

SarielGrow My girl is doing quite well, although she struggles by gorging herself on slow-release organic nitrogen that the peat in the soil contains. I started off badly with the amount of soil, for the rest we'll see what happens to my mendo breath.

SarielGrow And it is still very full of nitrogen. I am avoiding cutting many leaves so as not to let it go into the flowers and let the nitrogen remain channeled into the leaves. I let the soil dry completely so as to give it the push to eat itself and consume that dark green.

CalMag Agent - Canna
CalMag Agent

SarielGrow Things got off to a bad start entering the fifth week of flowering: by administering 2ml of Cal-Mag in 4L of water, I accidentally triggered the plant to revert to the vegetative stage. Fortunately, I realized the mistake and immediately turned the light dimmer down to 60% to prevent the buds from stretching into "foxtails." It’s gone eight days without water; today marks the start of the sixth week, and I think tomorrow will be the time to hydrate it. All in all, it’s been a bit of a mess—and the plant is extremely short, too ?😅.

SarielGrow 🏅Barney's Farm 🌿?Mendo Breath?🌿 at 6 weeks.⚜️ OI had to induce controlled water stress to force the plant to use up the nitrogen reserves stored in its tissues; the intense forest-green color is fading thanks to early intervention—lowering the dimmer to 60% for seven days—and I only raised it to 70% yesterday. The "foxtailing" (or spike-like formation) was halted in time, as was the leaf growth within the buds. Two days ago, I applied 1.5g of magnesium sulfate in 1.5L of water to give the roots a boost; things seem to be progressing well, and the buds have started to swell.

SarielGrow Honestly, I’m not sure—managing organic nutrients isn't easy. I just added molasses to activate the beneficial bacteria and fungi I introduced three weeks ago. If I recall correctly, I gave it a really good, heavy watering—3 liters with 6g of mycorrhizae. I use San Bernardo water (naturally pH 7, very low in minerals) and adjust it to pH 6.5. Back in the vegetative stage, I didn't even know what pH was! 😅🏅 The soil is very rich and active, so I hope it develops well. It’s in a new phase now after the nitrogen issue; I can see a leaf starting to fade, but I also notice the molasses is having an effect, with a VPD of 1.4. Light intensity is at 80% and the light is 45 cm from the main cola. Oh, and I forgot to mention the Cal-Mag—I couldn't even stomach it myself in week 5 of flowering, let alone the plant!
