Germination
1mo ago
connormcleod47 ***UPDATE 06/10/26*** Started the germination process, both seeds should hopefully pop in the next 2 to 5 days, paper towel & ceramic plates + bottled water at a PH of 5.8 Put half a toothpick to the side of the plate so I don't lose track of which order the seeds are in ! Very high quality "Compliments" branded water from Freshco. this time around xD Was surprised to see everything on the back of the bottle total 326 ppm mineral wise, down from last weeks batch which was up around 384 ppm! Tastes great & much cleaner than the Great Value brand from Walmart which often totals over 500ppm, Nestle isn't much better either in that regard! Back to the grow... Strains I will be running this time around are: Romdog (Chemdog original Greg K. cut 1991 x Romulan) - Romulan Genetics Garlic Fever (Garlic Cocktail x Romulan) - Romulan Genetics No extra seeds in these packs but a proper count nonetheless, did receive a free 6 pack of Turning Point (Point Break x Romulan) + some stickers alongside the Garlic Fever when it first dropped which was a highly welcomed bonus! Super stoked on both of these crosses! Have been working towards starting my own breeding project but may have to wait another 9 months due to unforeseen circumstances.... Am glad Jake released this when he did because I was just gearing up to do the exact same thing, was going to call mine Muscle Mutts! The original Greg K. cut from 1991 vs what would have been a 91 Skunk VA, Chem #3 or Chem D cross on my end! Romulan x Chemdawg was one of the 1st things that came to mind while I was brainstorming on where I could start, dude has exquisite taste the entire way across the board & the timing on this one for me was perfect! I managed to grab a total of 12 strains over the last year & had plans on running all 12 when able too but I couldn't help myself & had to crack into these ones early! Romulan is one of my all time favorites, Chemdawg is also one of my all time favorites, not a doubt in my mind this **** will absolutely ******* BANG! As for the Garlic Fever, I am unfamiliar with the Garlic Cocktail used in the cross, It's one I have yet to happen across out in the wild, I had a hard time deciding what I wanted to run alongside the Romdog but eventually settled on Garlic Fever upon further clarification, description says "without a doubt the best Romulan cross we have ever made", Jakes overall catalogue is one of the strongest I've ever seen & I am extremely stoked to try this one as well being his personal favorite!! Nutrient wise I will be running Cronks PUUR Organics alongside their Monkey Juice & Armadillo Armor which are also organic, I also have some Great White Myco, Fish Head Farms Fish Sh!t, Blackstrap Molasses & a cover crop that consists of Buckwheat, Alfalfa, Clover, Lentil & Fenugreek! Will check back in with updates once my seeds have germinated! Plan on cleaning/sanitizing my 2x4 tomorrow & will also print/laminate labels so everything is ready to go, this is gonna be a great run! ***UPDATE 06/12/26*** Both seeds have successfully germinated! Resaturated the paper towel with some bottled water at a PH of 5.8, gonna give the tap roots a bit of time to grow before I sink them in the dirt, should be good to go tomorrow morning or later on that afternoon! Still have to clean the 2x4 & print labels for the pots, this will get done early tomorrow morning, been quite busy trimming plants & catching up on timelapses, figured sanitization could wait for now! ***UPDATE 06/14/26*** The Garlic Fever was ready to be planted today! Filled a 1 gal bucket with LSO, sprinkled in a decent amount of Great White Myco & mixed that around with my finger so it doesn't form a hard paste around the seedling during the earliest stages of growth, watered the seedling in with roughly 250ml of bottled water at a PH of 5.9, I used a spray bottle with a fine mist to ensure the seedling didn't sink further into the medium upon watering, I also included a singular drop of monosilicic acid in my water using a pipette which is good for the root system as early as Day 0! The Romdog is a tad bit slower to start & still needs some time for the tap root to grow out, I replaced the paper towel it was germinating with & resaturated using fresh bottled water at a PH of 5.7, I also used a very small amount of monosilicic acid here as well! - Printed/laminated labels for the pots -Cleaned/sanitized the 2x4 + all equipment - lowered the light to where the plants should be receiving roughly 190 uMOL of light once they surface ***UPDATE 06/15/26*** The Romdog made significant progress throughout the night & was ready to be planted this morning, a bump in ambient temps sped the germination process up quite a bit! Same as the Garlic Fever, filled a 1 gal bucket with LSO, sprinkled in a decent amount of Great White Myco & mixed that around with my finger so it doesn't form a hard paste around the seedling during the earliest stages of growth, watered the seedling in with roughly 250ml of bottled water at a PH of 5.8, I used a spray bottle with a fine mist to ensure the seedling didn't sink further into the medium upon watering, I also included a singular drop of monosilicic acid in my water using a pipette which is good for the root system as early as Day 0! Can really see the difference when germinating with minute doses of monosilicic acid! The Romdog already has a ton of additional root hairs vs the Garlic Fever which didn't receive monosilicic acid until it was in the dirt! ***UPDATE 06/16/26*** Both seedlings managed to surface this afternoon & are now above soil, everything is right on track & seems to be doing well! I will start Day 1 veg once the cotyledons have folded out & the finger leaves are fully visible! ***UPDATE 06/17/26*** Gonna start week 1 veg tomorrow! Seedlings are stretching at a good pace, 190 uMOL to start might be the move! Will sometimes start them around 300 uMOL to keep them short, bit of stretch will allow me to get some plastic straws around the main stems so I can hit them with the clip fan nice & early in order to build some strength! Temps/RH are dialed in for the time being!

connormcleod47 ***UPDATE 06/18/26*** Finger leaves are visible & my phone is able to take clear photos of the seedlings this afternoon so I figured I would start week 1 veg! Cut a plastic straw to fit the main stem of each seedling & slit both pieces vertically so they could be wrapped around the plants, this will help support each plant once I turn the clip fan on to build some strength during the earlier stages of growth, the finger leaves aren't quite big enough to catch any wind atm but they should be good to go in a couple of days! Gave each plant roughly 200ml of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.2, a tad bit early on the watering but I wanted to get some additional microbes into the soil for now & stop the tops of the pots from drying out, water I used was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Temps/RH have been really good so far, also refilled the humidifier with straight RO shortly after taking pictures today! ***UPDATE 06/19/26*** Plants responded well to yesterdays watering! Turned the clip fan on & seedlings are able to catch a bit of wind, currently at 3/10 & will ramp up on intensity as they continue to grow, the fan should also help eliminate water retention during the earlier stages of growth! Temps/RH have been very close to spot on throughout the day today! ***UPDATE 06/20/26*** Nothing really needed to be done today, still just waiting for the pots to dry out a little bit so I can get another watering in! Temps have been on the lower side but RH has been good! ***UPDATE 06/21/26*** Still waiting for the pots to dry out a little bit more so I can water again Both seedlings seem to be moving at a very similar pace which is good! The Romdog initially took a couple extra days to germinate/surface vs the Garlic Fever, would think these were the exact same strain on the current day! Temps/RH have been really good so far today! ***UPDATE 06/22/26*** Nothing really needed to be done today, can probably water tomorrow & I will also check PAR! Temps/RH have been pretty good throughout the day today! ***UPDATE 06/23/26*** Gave each plant roughly 250ml of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.0, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Checked PAR this afternoon & each seedling is currently sitting at 200 uMOL of light, I will bump up closer to 300 at the start of week 2! Temps/RH have been really good today at 24c & 71% RH, left the picture out to keep the diary uniform ***UPDATE 06/24/26*** Plants responded well to yesterdays watering! Temps/RH have been really good throughout the day today!

connormcleod47 ***UPDATE 06/25/26*** Very noticeable growth in between today & yesterday coming into week 2 veg, plants are gonna need water tomorrow in the early afternoon! Adjusted the light to where the tallest plant is now receiving roughly 250 uMOL of light, I also bumped the clip fan up to 4/10 power from 3 Temps/RH have been good so far today at 23.8c & 74.3% RH ***UPDATE 06/26/26*** Plants responded well to yesterdays adjustments! They were ok on water throughout the day but will need some tomorrow, plan on bumping them up to 350ml each! Temps/RH have been really good throughout the day today! ***UPDATE 06/27/26*** Gave each plant roughly 375ml of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.1, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Temps/RH have been really good so far today! ***UPDATE 06/28/26*** Plants responded well to yesterdays watering & have perked back up between today & yesterday! Temps/RH have been really good today! ***UPDATE 06/29/26*** Nothing really needed to be done today, plants are looking good & I've just been rotating the pots 90 degrees each morning so the medium dries out more evenly while the clip fan is at 4/10 Temps/RH were good throughout the day today! ***UPDATE 06/30/26*** The heatwave has begun! Fell asleep through the day today & temps/RH were absolutely atrocious! Went back on the graph & was up around 33/34c for most of the day, I had lowered the intensity of the humidifier as well because I knew it was going to be humid & I have other plants flowering in the same room, & I wanted to keep RH low for them, this was probably good for these ones on the day as it helped the pots dry out a little quicker but am gonna have to figure something out for the rest of the week in order to keep temps low, AC in my room does not work very well on days like today, timing was good because the Garlic Fever was starting to claw a bit due to excess moisture, plants will need water in the early afternoon tomorrow! *Had fingerprints on my lens when I took todays photos, same settings as always but crazy to see the difference in color when the lens is dirty! ***UPDATE 07/01/26*** Gave each plant 250ml of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.1, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Heatwave continues & there's not really much I can do to control temps in my current space, the plants are ok for now but was up around 32c this afternoon, should hopefully see cooler temps 4 or 5 days from now! Happy Canada Day!!

connormcleod47 ***UPDATE 07/02/26*** Gave each plant a small splash of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.1 to keep them happy for the day, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Power outage yesterday & I ended up with 3 extra hours of unintentional darkness, readjusted the wall timer back to normal once electricity was restored, hoping this has not confused the plants! Temps are still very high & I have left the humidifier off for the time being to keep ambient RH as low as possible for the other plants currently finishing up flower in the same room! ***UPDATE 07/03/26*** The heatwave continues! Plants have been ok today water wise but will need more early tomorrow morning! Temps/RH have been far from ideal but they do seem happy for now which is good! ***UPDATE 07/04/26*** Gave each plant 350ml of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.0, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Was randomly signed out of my account on PC & kept trying to log in with the wrong email address xD Has been a long time since I've had to sign in again but am back now! Didn't miss any photos & everything is still on track, am kind of glad this happened because I am signed back in on my prefered web browser instead of microsoft edge, this site did not like brave whenever the last major update released, quite some time ago! Temps were very high & RH was low, this was the last day of the heatwave! ***UPDATE 07/05/26*** Plants responded extremely well to yesterdays watering! Topped each plant above the 3rd node & removed some fan leaves for some of the lower branches that have started to grow shortly after taking pictures today! Heatwave is over for now & temps have been a lot better, haven't been running the humidifier as I want to keep ambient RH low for the other plants that are flowering in the same room, was pretty close to 60% anyways which is where I want to be right now! ***UPDATE 07/06/26*** Gave each plant 500ml of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.0, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Temps/RH have been pretty good throughout the day today! ***UPDATE 07/07/26*** Plants responded well to yesterdays watering! Temps are a little bit higher today but RH has been pretty good! ***UPDATE 07/08/26*** Nothing really needed to be done today but plants will need water again early tomorrow morning, thinking I want to transplant into 5 gals around Day 24 - Day 26, hoping to get them up to 1L per plant water wise for a couple of days before that time comes! Temps/RH haven't been the greatest throughout the day today, everything should even out shortly!

connormcleod47 ***UPDATE 07/09/26*** Gave each plant 550ml of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.0, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Mentioned this yesterday & am thinking I want to transplant into 5 gals around Day 24 - Day 26, hoping to get them up to 1L per plant water wise for a couple of days before that time comes! Really diggin the natural structure on the Romdog! The plant was topped recently & has not received any type of LST along the way, lateral branching has evened out with the new tops w/o me having to do anything! Temps/RH have been pretty good throughout the day today, a bit hot/dry towards the end of the day, I almost prefer this when attempting to increase the amount of water fed so no real complaints as is, everything is chugging along quite nicely! ***UPDATE 07/10/26*** Plants responded well to yesterdays watering! The Romdog really started to take off between today & yesterday, looking like this will be one massive plant if I give it the time to veg! Hot/dry again today but the plants seem to be thriving! Wouldn't hurt to give them some more water tomorrow afternoon, can probably bump up to 750ml/1L per plant without issue! ***UPDATE 07/11/26*** Gave each plant 750ml of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.1, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Think I will transplant into 5 gals once the pots have dried out! Hot/dry again today but it doesn't seem to effect either plant negatively which is good! ***UPDATE 07/12/26*** Plants responded well to yesterdays watering! Will 100% be transplanting once the pots have dried out, the Romdog is moving at an incredibly fast pace at this current stage of growth & will probably explode once moved into a 5 gal pot! Temps/RH were actually pretty good throughout the day today despite the weather! ***UPDATE 07/13/26*** Transplanted into 5 gals today & gave each plant 1L of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.1, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Process wise I sprinkled 2 tablespoons of Xtreme Gardening Mykos into the soil while the pots still had 3 or so inches to go before they were full, I mixed this 3 knuckles deeper into the soil for when roots begin to stretch outwards, from there I coated the outside of the holes I transplanted into with some of the more expensive stuff, Great White Myco & covered the soil with an inch or so of hay before watering! Adjusted the light to where each plant is currently sitting around 460 uMOL Limited on how many pictures I can post each week during veg so I decided to make a collage for each plant in order to keep the diary uniform! Temps/RH have been pretty good throughout the day today considering the heat! ***UPDATE 07/14/26*** Plants responded well to yesterdays watering/transplant! Heatwave in effect & temps are far from ideal! ***UPDATE 07/15/26*** Gave each plant 1.5L of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.2, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Temps are still very high today but RH has been decent!

connormcleod47 ***UPDATE 07/16/26*** Plants responded extremely well to yesterdays watering! I wasn't sure if bumping right up to 1.5L per plant at this current stage was a great idea but both plants seem to be thriving & they are incredibly happy/healthy! I should be able to top both plants again within the next 48hrs, will have to wait & see what all goes on but I dont think I will be able to veg them out like I normally do when considering the time restraints on this current grow Temps were quite high today & RH has been low, doesn't seem to bother them in the slightest, everything is looking great so far! ***UPDATE 07/17/26*** Nothing really needed to be done today, plants were watered around 10pm the last time around, figure I could get away with waiting until 6am tomorrow morning before watering again & from there will have everything back on a morning schedule which is what I would prefer! Hot/dry again today ***UPDATE 07/18/26*** Gave each plant 1.5L of water mixed with 0.2ml/L Armadillo Armour, 1ml/L Monkey Juice & 1ml/L Fish Sh!t at a PH of 6.1, water was a 50/50 mix of aerated RO & dechlorinated tap water! Topped the Romdog alongside a light defoliation shortly after taking pictures today, very strong/stretchy lateral branching & it is worth keeping the center of the canopy open for these lower branches even early on, should be able to top the Garlic Fever in the next 36hrs or so! Temps/RH are still not the best but better than they have been so far this week, both plants continue to thrive! ***UPDATE 07/19/26*** Plants responded well to yesterdays watering although pots are quite heavy later in the night today, I may drop them back down to 1L per piece if temps remain on the lower side, was around 23c for most of the day today prior to closing the tents door which has water sitting for a bit longer! The Romdog responded well to yesterdays top/defokiation! Temps were good in general today but RH remained low at 50% ***UPDATE 07/20/26*** Nothing really needed to be done today, pots are still saturated & the plants seem to be doing well so I've decided to hold off on watering until tomorrow morning, will also top the Garlic Fever at that point as well! Temps have been really good today but RH was low again
