RootToRosin Week 1 – MAC1 Clone Test 2026 With this grow, a documented test run of a MAC1 cutting (Capulator) begins. The goal is to document the plant's development from the takeover as a rooted cutting to harvest under identical conditions and to evaluate the quality of the cutting as objectively as possible. The cutting was planted two days ago in Plagron clay pebbles/Cocos Hydromix (60/40) and is growing under a Maxibright LED in the AutoPot system. It is being fertilized with the Athena Blended Line. The focus of this run is not on maximum yield, but on plant vitality, structure, resin production, flower quality, and later product photos. Right from the start, the MAC1 shows the typical growth form for this genetics. Compared to some of the other tested strains, the plant appears a bit more open and less bushy, yet overall presents itself as healthy and vigorous. The internodes are a bit longer, and the side branches are still in an early developmental stage. The new growth looks active, and the plant seems to be coping well with the transition to the new substrate. No noticeable stress symptoms, necrosis, or other signs of problems are currently visible. The leaf structure corresponds to the typical appearance of the MAC1 and conveys a healthy overall impression. What will be particularly interesting with this genetics is how the plant develops in the coming weeks. Similar to, for example, Permanent Marker, the MAC1 is considered by many growers to be a strain that appears rather reserved in the early vegetative phase, but often reveals its potential later through extreme resin production, exceptional flower quality, and an attractive growth pattern. After the first two days, the MAC1 leaves a stable and healthy impression. Although it is currently not the strongest or bushiest plant in this comparison grow, it has all the prerequisites to develop into one of the most interesting genetics of this test run.

RootToRosin Week 2 – MAC1 Clone Test 2026 The MAC1 is starting off stable in the second week after planting. Compared to the first update, the plant now appears significantly better established and shows healthy, active new growth. Typical for MAC1, the plant continues to present itself a bit more open and less bushy than some of the other tested cuts. The internodes are a bit longer, the main stem remains clearly dominant, and the side branches are gradually developing further. Overall, the plant looks healthy, calm, and controlled in its growth. The leaf structure is clean and even. The fresh growth is a bit lighter but appears vibrant and active. There are currently no major stress symptoms, necroses, or noticeable growth problems. The stem structure also looks stable and shows that the plant has adapted well to the new substrate. In direct comparison, the MAC1 is currently not among the fastest or bushiest plants of the run, but it leaves a very solid impression. Especially with this genetic variety, it's particularly exciting to see how it develops in the coming weeks, as MAC1 often shows its full potential later on.

RootToRosin Week 3 – MAC1 Clone Test 2026 The MAC1 is now in week 3 after planting and has been switched to 12/12 starting from day 1 of week 3. This marks the beginning of the early flowering and stretch phase. The AutoPot system has also been activated, so the plant will now be constantly supplied with nutrient solution. It is being fed with Athena Blended Bloom week 1, slightly diluted to EC 2.1. The pH level is at 5.8. The light is currently running at 376 W with about 60 cm distance. Currently, the MAC1 measures 46 cm and is in the middle range of the comparison grow. It is slightly smaller than Cap Junky and Permanent Marker, but already significantly taller than the more compact Super Buff Cherry #26. The MAC1 has established itself well since planting and shows healthy, active growth. Compared to others, it remains somewhat more open and less bushy, but overall appears stable and vigorous. The main stem continues to be dominant, while the side branches are increasingly developing. The leaf appearance is mostly clean, but still shows slight reactions at the leaf edges. These currently do not seem critical and fit the somewhat more sensitive growth pattern of the MAC1. No significant necrosis, severe burns, or noticeable growth problems are evident.

RootToRosin Flowering Week 2 – MAC1 Clone Test 2026 The MAC1 is now in flowering week 2 and has visibly developed since the switch to 12/12. It's running in the AutoPot system on Plagron clay pebbles/Coco Hydromix and is being fed with the Athena Blended Line. The pH level is at 5.8, and the Athena Bloom schedule has now been set to an EC of 2.3. Currently, the MAC1 measures 60 cm and is almost on par with Cap Junky and Super Buff Cherry #26. Compared to the first updates, it has clearly caught up and now appears much more established and vigorous. The plant continues to show a slightly more open structure than Super Buff Cherry #26 or Cap Junky. The main stem remains clearly visible, while the side branches are increasingly developing more actively. Overall, the MAC1 looks vital, stable, and well into early flowering. The leaf appearance remains a bit more sensitive than the other cuts. Slightly raised leaf edges are still visible, but they don't seem critical at the moment. No significant necrosis, severe burns, or noticeable growth problems are apparent.

RootToRosin MAC1 – Flowering Week 3 In flowering week 3, the MAC1 reaches a height of 92 cm, making it one of the stronger stretch candidates in the tent. The initially rather reserved plant is increasingly developing into an open and evenly structured cut with several well-lit tops. The AutoPot system is fully active. The supply is provided through the Athena Blended Bloom Line. At the beginning of the week, the nutrient solution is approximately at EC 2.53 and pH 5.7. After about three days, EC 2.59 and pH 6.0 are measured. The slight change is moderate, and there are no significant differences between the tank and tray. The temperature predominantly ranges between 25 and 26 °C, with relative humidity around 65 to 70%. The light output is increased to 500 watts over the course of the week. Due to the increasing height of the plants, the lamp must also be raised further. The MAC1 remains somewhat more sensitive in leaf appearance compared to the other cuts. Individual leaves still show slightly raised edges and a somewhat restless or wrinkled surface. However, under the stronger lighting, these symptoms do not significantly worsen. No larger necroses, burnt tips, or severely downward-curved leaves are visible. The young flower clusters are developing evenly along the stems and are increasingly beginning to stack. The first trichome formation is already clearly visible. The MAC1 thus presents itself as a stretch-prone and slightly sensitive cut that still shows very even flower development under stable conditions.

RootToRosin MAC1 – Flowering Week 4 At the beginning of the fourth week of flowering, a clean-out is performed at BT22. Weak lower shoots, excess leaf material, and small popcorn buds are removed to improve air circulation and light distribution within the plant. After the intervention, the light intensity is briefly reduced to 75% and then increased back to 500 watts after a day. During this week, MAC1 grows from about 92 to 101 cm. The stretch visibly slows down, and the plant increasingly develops a uniform and well-controllable canopy. Compared to the Permanent Marker, its height development remains significantly more moderate. A noticeable characteristic is still some slightly upward-curved or taco-like leaf edges. Since the plant otherwise shows a healthy color and good flower development, this indicates more of a high light and transpiration pressure in the upper area rather than a classic nutrient deficiency. The flower sites are becoming more compact and are distributed very evenly across the plant. Overall, MAC1 appears particularly balanced: neither extremely squat nor excessively stretched. It also handles the clean-out without visible issues. The nutrient solution is prepared according to the Athena-Bloom schedule for week 4 with an EC of about 2.65 and a pH of 5.9. Overall, MAC1 presents itself as healthy, stable, and so far one of the most uniform plants of the run.

RootToRosin MAC1 – Flowering Week 5 MAC1 begins the fifth week of flowering at about 101 cm tall. Compared to the previous week, there is no significant growth noticeable, which means the stretch is considered largely complete. The plant continues to develop an even canopy and distributes its flower clusters very homogeneously across the area. Some individual leaves still show slightly upward-curled or taco-like edges. Since color, growth, and flower development remain stable otherwise, this seems more like a reaction to light and transpiration pressure rather than a clear nutrient deficiency. The flowers are now starting to densify more, and the resin coverage on the sugar leaves is visibly increasing. Overall, MAC1 continues to present itself as very balanced, stable, and well controllable. It is being fed with the Athena Bloom schedule for week 5 at about EC 2.4 and pH 5.7. The climate mostly ranges between 26 and 27 °C with 60–63% RH.
