Say hello to four beautiful AK's by Spliff Seeds. This is only my second grow and this time it will be 100% organic featuring Step Well's SS-W super soil and EM-1 microbial inoculation.
AK Female Cannabis seeds are a Hybrid of Colombian Gold x Highland Thai x Mexican x Afghani #1 x NL Special resulting in very stable and uniform plants. Compact, resinous buds. Incense aroma and spicy, sweet flavor.
SS-W super soil contains mycorrhizae, bone meal, blood meal, perlite, kelp meal, fish bone meal, wollastonite, worm castings, basalt rock dust, gypsum, yucca, dolomite lime, alfalfa meal and humic acid.
A light top dressing of gaia green 2-8-4 may be added at the end of week 2 if needed. Tending this garden involves only watering with rain water every other day and a little LST.
My first encounter with Fungus Gnats! I admit I was a little slow to engage the problem and some light damage was done but I am making some progress to turn the tide. I am letting the soil dry out a bit more between watering and put down a layer of DM and yellow stickies to control the adult population. These measures appear to be making a difference already but as a final measure I will be watering with some added BT tomorrow to eradicate the remaining larvae.
The colas are stacking up nicely and are getting sticky. The smell is even more fragrant than the previous week.
Apologies for the lack of updates. Summer has been keeping me busy.
Week 8 and My first Organic grow is done and I learned a lot from it. A combination of Fungus Gnats (we had continuous source from my wife’s nearby African Violet collection) and too much light from the HLG 550 V2 and the resulting deficiencies in late flower sadly reduced the yield a bit. The girls were chopped this evening and are in the drying tent and The House smells amazing!
I’ll follow up in 10-14 days with the final figures.
I am fairly happy with the yield considering I had an infestation of fungus gnats half way through flower that caused the plants to struggle with nutrient uptake. The end product is enjoyable and I can definitely recommend this stain!
