ojulhao [Germination: 07/06 - 13/06]
For germination, I followed a scientific article (https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/33732764/) that describes a method with a high success rate. Here it is:1. Prepare a 1% hydrogen peroxide solution.
2. Leave the seed in the solution for 18–24 hours, no longer.
3. Use the normal paper towel method.
Do this in a clean environment, avoid touching the seeds directly, use gloves if possible, and clean everything.
I started the process on the 7th of June 2026, with 5 seeds. After three days, only 3 germinated, and I placed them in a Jiffy Pellet.

I'm a bit negatively surprised by this strain. From five seeds, only three developed into seedlings. However, as you can see in the pictures, one of them is not healthy, and the other one has some deformation on the leaves.
On the 15.06 I transplanted them to a 2L pot. I would have preferred to start them already in the final container, but that wasn't possible this time. I didn't use any nutrients so far. The soil was a bit overwatered, so I'm waiting for it to dry a bit.
Although I plan to have them outdoors, I'm keeping them indoors together with my other plants (check the #9 – Alien vs. Triangle diary) until I move them to the final 7L container.

ojulhao This was the end of the second week. I've observed that the plants were a bit different from one another; one of them looks like it is not developing healthily

ojulhao Unfortunately, one of the plants didn't develop well, and I decided to keep only two for the Mango Runtz strain. Which is pretty bad since I got 5 seeds initially. It has never happened to me before to have such a bad success rate with the seeds.
By this week, I started doing LST on the plants. Since they were on my balcony, they didn't receive more than 5 hours of direct sun per day.

ojulhao As the plants grew, I was trying to control them with the LST. However, it feels a bit hard when you start the seed in the center.

ojulhao After a few weeks, I realized that there is no need to apply LST to my outdoor plants, so I just gave up on that and let them grow as they want. You can definitely see that they don't receive as much light, as they don't develop so fast as indoor plants.

ojulhao By the end of week 7, the buds were already developing well. Although the plants didn't grow much during the vegetative phase, they looked very healthy.

ojulhao These pictures were taken by the end of the 11th week. I find it curious that one of the plants became purplish, while the other one was completely green. Both underwent the same conditions, nutrients, sun exposure, etc.
I didn't have any big problems with the strain during its development. However, I had a very low success rate with the seeds: only 3 out of 5 germinated, and one of them died before the third week. Also, I noticed too much variation among the plants. I've heard a lot of good things about Mango Runtz before, so I want to believe that those problems were related to the batch of seeds that I got. I also noticed that they produced only half as much dry-weight bud as my 'Alien vs. Triangle' (also from Mephisto) produced in the same conditions.
