Second Grow = Purple Queen

To Join my Second Grow, i have invited 3 x Purple Queens to the party. Lets be honest there is no party without a queen!. I would say that its the quality of the smoke i'm after but realistically its just because its Purple and looks fantastic. Again with these i have just finished having a 16 hour bath, so now they are ready to be tucked up in there soil duvet to keep nice and snug ready to become a young Royal.

Transplanted in to larger 1 ltr pots to allow good root growth. Still chilling on windowsill for now as grow room is still being prepared from previous harvest. I expect good root growth this week to allow the first full set of leaves to appear. So far very happy 100% germination success.

This week we made the move over to the Tent. Always a little touch and go for me 😬. With the move complete they are now settling in to their new home. Still managed a slight burn on the tips of the leaves but i will put that down to the freak weather we have been having which has been incredibly hot. They should continue to root well this week i hope to transfer them into their finishing pots at the end of the week.

The Purple Queens, Now moved in to their finishing pots ready for the long Grow ahead. I would expect slow Growth early next week whilst the Roots explore there new home but i expect by the end of the week to see some significant growth moving forward. I will also start to add nutes as the already contained nutes in the soil will be reaching the end of their cycle. I have found this particular strain to rather susceptible to Temp and Moisture i can see that i will need to spend extra nurturing time on these young ladies if i want these to mature in to Chunky, Attractive girls.

Mixed improvement with the Queens, #1 Great growth rate with massive growth throughout couldn't be happier already topped this week ready to carry on. #2 & #3 No where near the pace of #1 specifically #3 has very poor growth not holding out a huge deal of hope but patience and love should see it produce something worthy of a good smoke. Have been feeding well this week. I have started to watch and monitor the PH level this week and so far the all seem a little high just above the 7. However i have some PH- arriving imminently so this should help alleviate this problem. Plan for this week is to try and bring #2 & #3 up to a good enough level to top once whilst topping #1 to keep in line with the smaller siblings.

Another good week of growth. #1 is continuing to grow stronger than the other 2 but massive progress has been made over the last week with the 2 x Weaker plants. Because of their slow start and trailing so far behind the rest of the crop i have decided not to top the young ladies and let them grow through their natural cycle. If i topped them now i feel this could lead to a huge disaster later on during Flowering and Harvest. Other than the mentioned problems they seem to be growing well. We are experiencing a heatwave in Europe at the moment and i would be lying if i said this is not a problem. The heat control in intense we have had night time temps of around 27c which at times has put my tent in to the high 30s at times but the ladies seem to be handling it much better than me. I decided to invest in a humidifier and i am glad i did it is currently keeping my tent at a healthy 50% humidity and producing a cool mist which is helping keep it cool. Until next week.

Not a major week of excitement. Good sustained growth throughout #1 still continues to impress overall. Happy with decision not to stress out #2 & #3 by avoiding topping. This should allow for strong central Colans during Flowering. 👏

Final week of Veg.All looking good #2 & #3 should be ready to flip with #1. This week as expected just saw an increase in size on all the ladies. #1 still leaps ahead of its sisters but i am still confident they will all yield relatively well. Finished of this week by adding some PH- as levels were up in 7 to 8s. Try and get this down before i change Nutes for Flowering Phase.

1st week of Flowering is always a great feeling. Now we can prepare for the rewards of our hard work. Not a lot to report on this week as the only real change is size. They have all continued to grow at a healthy pace. #2 & #3 still the only plants in my current crop that i am growing natural with very little input from me. For example they both are only growing a singular main cola and have only had damaged or dead leaves removed. Already i can see that #1 is looking a much stronger with the addition of topping i am hoping it will produce well.

No new pics this week as away on Hols. Will update on next entry. Everything went as well as can be, considering i was not around and everything was on autopilot!

After my weeks Hols my ladies seemed to of started to focus energy into making wonderful buds. Always a happy moment to see after a long process. No major issues heat stress a little as had some unusually hot days to contend with. Will be taking some detailed and close up pics next week as now have new camera also.

A very delayed week due to Heavy work load i have been kept away from my reporting duties, But i made sure to take pictures at the appropriate time as so i do not fall behind in record keeping. As you can see from the close up pics of the Buds that it is already showing its darker side with a fantastic looking flower on the main colas. A few leaves have suffered some minor heat damage, but so far not seeing this causing any problems with overall grow 😕

They are really now starting to take color, Incredibly i have managed to start turning the leaves a beautiful shade of purple which i am not going to lie is really starting to get me excited 😄 Good strong growth this week, really starting to put on the pounds and gain some weight. I struggled with the Heavy buds last grow so invested in a net this time round to try and take some of the pressure away from the plants. So far 👍

Another delayed week in posting. Unfortunately the pressures from the real world keep occupying my time however i do get a chance to take a quick few snaps to see how we are progressing. This has by far been my most exciting batch to grow the deep Greens and Hypnotizing purple are just great to see and a huge sense of pride in growing and achieving that color.

These ladies are now really showing their true colors a good 50% of the plants are showing signs of Purple i am really hoping that next week will be almost completely Purple. Starting to give a sweet smell to moisten the taste buds. Very happy with the progress of this batch. Not long till Harvest now😣

This week has been one of intense viewing i have been checking the Pistills, Trics and leaves all week waiting for that signal that they are ready for Harvest. But as many a great grower would say patience will prevail. At least 75% of the plants are now showing signs that they are ready however the large top buds are still showing signs of maturing. On this basis i will keep checking daily for the right moment. I went a little overboard on the pics this week but it is the only way to showcase how they are moving along. Still Smiling😀😰

I had suspected that these wonderful young ladies would require more time to reach peak Harvest and i was correct. Allowing these the extra week has allowed for some excellent weight gain and additionally allowing for more Trics to form and start to change color. Using my mag glass i have determined that now is the time to start my pre harvest. I have removed some of the larger leaves allowing for more light to penetrate lower down the plant, this has now allowed the lower nugs to finish of and bulk up the best they can. I feel the Harvest of the Purple Queen is imminent however finding the right moment will be more tricky. As this is the last Flowering week update i will be posting on this Strain.
