PapaTerps Zu-Tang Clan - N.Y.Ceeds
SUMMER is upon us and grows that were started around March are a week or so away from harvest - so that means I'll have an empty tent pretty soon! So I've decided to start another grow for this Summer and into Autumn. π
For this grow, I've selected Zu-Tang Clan by N.Y.Ceeds - I chose this strain for her Lavender flavour, Happy/Calming effects and also for her genetics, which is a Blue Zu #92 (Sin City Seeds) crossed with Spitzer (Cannarado Seeds). I've used this breeder before and they tend to breed some interesting and complex plants, so I'm really excited to see how this one turns out! I will be vegging her for about 5 weeks and I will be using a mixture of growing techniques which I have used before, including topping with some low stress training. You're all more than welcome to follow along, I will try to detail my process without overloading each week with "Too Much Info"π
Description:
Purchase: https://house-of-seeds.de/en/products/zu-tang-clan-nyceeds?_pos=1&_psq=Zu&_ss=e&_v=1.0
Day 1 (16/06)
- Seed dropped into a small metal screw tin filled with RO Tap water pH'd to 6.3 and stored in a dark warm room - she will remain here until the seed pops and a taproot appears; I will check the progress of the seed every ~12 hours.
Day 2
- The seed has already popped and a taproot has appeared, so I've filled a small 0.3L paper starter pot with some All-Mix and dropped the seed in!
Day 3
- The seedling has already appeared from the soil, but her starter leaves have yet to breach, so tomorrow morning she should be out for us πͺ
Day 5
- She has a nice long stem and her first leaves have started to develop ππΌ
Day 7
- She has started growing her second set of leaves, so in a couple of days she should be big and strong enough to consider her in veg!π

πΏ Watered every three days with 2L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I pH'd the solution to 6.3. I have upped her Fish-Mix and Acti-Vera nutrients to promote growth and plant health!
βοΈ I've removed two of her top most fan leaves to improve light penetration to the lower nodes, this will encourage lower stem growth.
π± Week 2 of Veg, and she's working on stretching, developing her root system, strengthening her main stem as well as producing lower side stems πͺπ»

πΏ Watered every three days with 2L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I pH'd the solution to 6.3. From next week, the FishMix will be replaced with the BioGrow!ππΌ
βοΈ I've removed a couple of her lower fan leaves to improve airflow and I've also topped her main stem to allow the lower stems to grow up and form a consistent canopy πͺπΌ
seedling Week 3 of Veg, she recovered from her first topping and has started to grow out her lower stems and supporting fan leaves! She has been growing pretty consistent and is exactly where I expected her to be - N.Y.Ceeds is doing it for me ππΌββοΈ From next week, I will begin some low stress training, I will also be moving all these girls into a larger 5x5, so watch this space ππΌββοΈ

Day 26
πΏ Watered every four days with 2L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I ph'd the solution to 6.3. No alterations to her feeding.
βοΈ This week I've lollipopped her to improve airflow and to encourage her to grow up, but other than that, she's just growing!
π± Week 4 of Veg, and she's worked really hard on stretching and developing her stems! She's grown a lot in the last week, so I'm more confident that she'll produce the goods for Papa! I've moved her into a 5x5 tent now along with all of the other plants in this grow, I will also be setting up a drip feed system from next week to streamline the feeding process ππ»

Day 34
πΏ Watered every four days with 3L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually, in order and then finally, I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I've reduced her root nutrient as she no longer requires it and increased her CalMag because some of the plants were showing signs of magnesium deficiency. From next feeding, I will start to introduce her bloom nutrients.
βοΈ I've given her a good pre-flower defoliation and I've lollipopped her up to about where her first topping occurred. I've also introduced some training clips to help her canopy grow evenly. She will be left alone now until her stretch phase of flower has completed.
π± Week 5 of Veg and 52 days from seed, she has absolutely shot up this week nearly doubling her height, so I've moved her into the corner of the tent to slow her down a bit; she is much taller than the BigZ, which had been the biggest plant up until this week! She started showing signs of maturity last week, but now she has pistils protruding from all her bud sites, so she is ready for the 12/12 switch. Another week or so to go, but she's ready πͺπΌ

Week 1 of Bloom
πΏ Watered every three days this week, with 3L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually, in order and then finally, I pH'd the solution to 6.3. I've switched out her veg nutrients now for bloom nutrients; these volumes will slowly be increased over the next couple of weeks depending on her needs.
βοΈ No work on her this week, I don't usually defoliate or train my girls during the first and second week of bloom because I want to reduce as much stress as possible.
πΈ She's looking absolutely fabulous! She has big strong lateral stems, with a nice canopy with no signs of deficiencies or illnesses, so she is ready for the 12 switch. I gradually reduced her light schedule over the last five days until she hit the 12 hour schedule today, so today is her first day "in bloom"! She should start her stretch pretty soon, so she'll be left to grow for the next couple of weeks.
