PapaTerps Zorroz V2 - Nine Weeks Harvest
SUMMER is upon us and grows that were started around March are a week or so away from harvest - so that means I'll have an empty tent pretty soon! So I've decided to start another grow for this Summer and into Autumn.
For this grow, I've selected Zorroz v2 - I chose this strain for its citrus candy flavours which it gets from it's Runtz and Zkittlez genetics! I will be vegging her for about 5 weeks and I will be using a mixture of growing techniques which I have used before, including topping with some low stress training. You're all more than welcome to follow along, I will try to detail my process without overloading each week with too much information.
Day 1 (16/06)
- Seed dropped into a small metal screw tin filled with RO Tap water pH'd to 6.3 and stored in a dark warm room - she will remain here until the seed pops and a taproot appears; I will check the progress of the seed every ~12 hours.
Day 2
- The seed has already popped and a taproot has appeared, so I've filled a small 0.3L paper starter pot with some All-Mix and dropped the seed in!
Day 3
- The seedling has already appeared from the soil, with her two starter leaves already searching for light.
Day 5
- She has a nice long stem and her first leaves have started to develop ๐๐ป

๐ฟ Watered every three days with 1L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I have upped some of her nutrients as she will need it during this phase ๐๐ป
โ๏ธ I've removed two of her top most fan leaves to improve light penetration to the lower nodes, this will encourage lower stem growth.
๐ฑ Week 2 of Veg, and shes working on stretching, strengthening her main stem as well as producing lower side stems ๐ช๐ป Her growth had been stunted somewhat, so she may also be struggling to or is working on developing her root system, so I will have to keep a close eye on her!

๐ฟ Watered every three days with 1L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I've upped her root juice nutrients to help with her root development, and from next week she will get a complete nutrition overall; switching fish mix to BioGrow ๐๐ป
โ๏ธ I've removed a couple of her lower fan leaves to improve airflow and I've also topped her main stem to allow the lower stems to grow up and form a consistent canopy ๐ช๐ป I've decided to leave her two larger fan leaves for now, because I don't want to stress her too much after the topping!
๐ฑ Week 3 of Veg, she has recovered from her first topping and has started to grow out her lower stems and supporting fan leaves, but the hot summer has stunted her growth a bit, so she will need another week or two of veg before I switch her over to 12/12! From next week, I will begin some low stress training, I will also be moving all these girls into a larger 5x5, so watch this space ๐ป

๐ฟ Watered every four days with 2L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually and in order, finally I ph'd the solution to 6.3. No alterations to her feeding.
โ๏ธ This week I've lollipopped her to improve airflow and to encourage her to grow upwards, I also topped her again as her two central stems had outrun the canopy!
๐ฑ Week 4 of Veg, she has worked on stretching and developing her stems, lots of progress in the tent all around this week which I'm happy about! I've moved her into a 5x5 tent now along with all of the other plants in this grow, I will also be setting up a drip feed system from next week to streamline the feeding process ๐๐ป

๐ฟ Watered every four days with 3L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually, in order and then finally, I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I've reduced her root nutrient as she no longer requires it and increased her CalMag because some of the plants were showing signs of magnesium deficiency. From next feeding, I will start to introduce her bloom nutrients.๐๐ป
โ๏ธ I've given her a good defoliation and I've lollipopped her up to about the third bud site from the canopy. I attached a 90 degree training clip to one of stems to bring it inline with the others, but other than that she has been easy as!! She's a bit short, so she'll be left to grow until the stretch phase of flower is over!
๐ฑ Week 5 of Veg, she's hasn't performed as well as the other girls, but from my experience, seeds from this brand have always struggled in veg, but excel during flower; Gary Patron by this brand is a perfect example, one of the frostiest girls I've grown! So no given her status, I'm going to reduce her stress by limiting the work on her and just let her grow! Another week or so before the 12/12 switch, so plenty of time for her to develop ๐ป

Week 1 of Bloom
๐ธ She has reached maturity, has big strong stems, a nice even canopy with no signs of deficiencies or illnesses - so she is ready for the 12-12 switch. I gradually reduced her light schedule over the last five days of veg, until she hit the 12 hour schedule a couple of days ago, so today is her sixth day "in bloom" and she has filled out her canopy and has started her stretch!
โ๏ธ No work on her this week, I don't usually defoliate or train my girls during the first and second week of bloom because I want to reduce as much stress as possible.
๐ฟ Watered every three days this week, with 2L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually, in order and then finally, I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I've switch out her veg nutrients now for bloom nutrients; these volumes will slowly be increased over the next couple of weeks depending on her needs.

๐ธ She has been stretching really well and her budsites have the beginnings of flower, as you can see in the photos, so she's well into bloom now! With flower comes smell, so I'll soon have to attach the filters to the vent fan.
โ๏ธ No work on her this week, I tend to leave my girls alone during the first and second week of bloom.

Week 3 of Bloom
๐ธ She has finished her stretch but has stayed quite short compared to other plants in the tent, so I've had to prop her up towards the light with a box. She has been as vigorous as the other girls in terms of flower development, so I'm not overly concerned. He scent has started to appear, but it's too early to fully decipher it. The temperatures have been up and down over the last week or so, so I've added the AlgAMix into her feed to help the plant deal with the fluctuating.๐๐ป
โ๏ธ I've lollipopped her again, removing all leaves stems and budsites below the top 7 nodes from the canopy - these lower branches won't develop into anything and will more than likely cause problems later down the line. I've also removed a couple of the larger fan leaves from her center, to improve airflow and light penetration ๐ช๐ป
๐ง Watered every three days with 4L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually, in order and then finally, I pH'd the solution to 6.3. I've increased some of her nutrients and added the Alg-A-Mix as a precaution to any temperature fluctuating that might occur this time of year.

๐ธ Good week for her, even though she has stayed relatively small compared to the other girls, she has developed really well and has possibly the strongest smelling flower in the tent, with big sugary/candy aroma backed with a fruity/earthy fragrance that reminds be of sugar donuts. All the girls have been moved into the Spider Farmer 8x4, because the 5x5 and 4x2 were too difficult to manage ๐๐ป
โ๏ธ No work this week, she has good airflow and light is penetration to the lower budsites๐๐ป
๐ง Watered every three days with 4L of RO water - nutrients were mixed individually, in order and then finally pH'd to 6.3. I've increased her nutrients again to keep up with her flower production.
