Weedcouple1998 Today I started germinating both seeds. They were placed on a moist paper towel and kept in a warm, dark place. The paper towel is moist but not soaking wet. Both seeds look healthy, and now I’m waiting for the taproots to appear. On July 5, 2026, “Apple Betty Auto” and “Sour Diesel Auto” were planted in their final pots. I used the bulb method and mixed Compo potting soil, mycorrhiza, Trichoderma, and perlite together in a separate pot. In a large box, I mixed Floragard Organic Grow-Mix soil, perlite, mycorrhiza, and Trichoderma. I prepared 12.5-liter fabric pots with expanded clay and then transferred the main soil mixture into the fabric pots. Using a small seedling pot, I made a hole in the soil and placed each seedling into it with the cap facing up. Now I fill the hole with the seedling soil I prepared. I leave the top of the seedling slightly exposed and moisten the soil around it with water. I placed the two plants in the grow tent for germination, but they’ll be moved outside afterward. These are my last two outdoor plants for this year.

Weedcouple1998 The Sour Diesel is 2 cm tall. It doesn't need much water. I water it twice a day, in the morning and in the evening. I give it a full pipette of filtered water and Hesi Root Complex. The Sour Diesel is currently forming its second set of main leaves. The Apple Betty is also 2 cm tall. I water it three times a day, using two full pipettes of filtered water and Hesi Root Complex each time. The Apple Betty is currently forming its second set of true leaves.

Weedcouple1998 Last night, I fertilized our two plants for the first time, using 0.5 ml of Hesi Bio Grow per 500 ml of water for each one. I'll put them out on our balcony in the middle of next week.

To develope a good roots system, water from the bottom. If you water directly at the Base of the plant from above, IT will stay small

@GermanGrow182, Does that work with cloth pots, too?

@Weedcouple1998, yes. Personally doing it since my first grow. It can also enhance / promote the growth of deeper roots, taking up more nutrients and having more stem-strength in your plant overall. That way when flower starts, the plant has a great base to produce more / heavier buds. With cloth pots it's even cooler, because the roots entangle themselves in your pots structure, taking up the water even faster than in regular soil. Also make sure to evenly water your pots with every watering. If the outer walls of the pot are dry long enough, the roots wont like to grow in that direction. The soil can also become hydrophobic with recurring dryness, making it hard to take up / store water. You'll notice that, if the water just pours trough your pot and mostly drains out of the bottom. Also, as GermanGrow182 suggested, do not directly water at the base of the plant. That way, it just wants to grow down along it's main root to the bottom. But you want that uniform, spread out root structure throughout the pot. Personally, during the first few weeks I water the whole pot till it's "kind of" wet; 50% from the top / 50% from the bottom, to promote growth in all directions.

@Herikus, Thank you so much for the detailed explanation! 🙏 That really makes sense. I especially didn't realize that the edges of the pot shouldn't dry out. I'll definitely give that a try. 😊🌱

Looks like you’ve got a great start, very compact with no stretching, which I find hard to avoid when growing outdoors. Maybe you’re lucky enough to live in the perfect weed-growing climate. If so, you’re blessed! Good luck moving forward.
