Pineapple Express Auto - Breeder Test

PsicoOne The first week is going well for both plants although my humidity is too low. I keep the humidity around the plants a bit higher by placing a bell over them that I spray with water from the inside every 1-2 days. During germination, the seed from Seed Supplier was a bit faster than the seed from Fast Buds, but in growth, you can clearly see that Fast Buds is a bit faster. I'm really looking forward to the end of both, to see if they both really have a similar terpene profile. I already know Fast Buds and had 4 different phenotypes that all had very similar terpene profiles, just with different intensities of the aromas. And just so you know, I did write Breeder Test in the title, but it's not about presenting one breeder as better or worse. It's just a test for me to see which of the two breeders has the best aromas from my perspective. I'm not a professional grower and I also don't have the perfect equipment to test this. It's just because I enjoy it. 😉 1. Day - There is still enough moisture for both plants, so watering is not necessary. 3. Day - Each plant gets 250ml (pH 6.46) from a solution of 1L water with 2ml Alfa Boost today. I water close to the stem so that the roots can follow the water flow downwards. 6. Day - Today, the plants each receive 1L (pH 6.22) from a solution of 2L water with 20ml Orgatrex and 2g Bactrex. Again, I water directly at the stem.

PsicoOne Everything is going according to plan in week 2, the Pineapple Express Auto from Fast Buds is still a bit ahead of the Seed Supplier, and it looks stronger. The only thing that isn't going well is the weather, as it's going to get very hot soon. Luckily, thanks to a new air conditioning unit, I've managed to keep everything under control, and the plants are handling this status well. Day 8 - Today I'm planting some Persian clover, for which I'm making a trench near the edge in both pots. I sprinkle just a few crumbs in (it turned out to be a bit more than I thought), cover it back up with soil, and water each plant with 1.5L of water (pH 6.50). I only water about 150ml at the base, and the rest of the water I pour in a circle near the edge of the pot. Day 11 - Each plant gets 1.5L (pH 6.48) with 2ml of Alfa Boost and 0.3ml of CalMag per liter of water. Day 14 - I'm giving the plants something against the fungus gnats. I discovered something new at the garden center from Substral. The capsules are supposed to contain herbal aromas that some insects dislike, thus avoiding staying in the flower pot. (Two days later, my tent smells slightly of garlic). For the capsules, I dig a small hole 5cm deep and put 1 capsule in, then water each plant with 500ml of water (pH 6.50) right in the hole and cover it back up with soil.

PsicoOne This week was intense. In the middle of the week, the heatwave hit, and even my new air conditioner was pushed to its limits. 37°C outside temperature, and with great effort, I managed to keep the temperature in the tent at 30°C. And then at the end of the week, I discovered a thrip that had set up camp on the underside of the Fast Buds. Day 16 - I'm starting LST today. I'm cutting off the lowest shoots on both plants because they usually never grow big anyway. I'm leaning the plants to the side. Also, I'm setting the light cycle to 12/12 because of the heatwave coming in the next few days. Day 17 - There's 1L of water (pH 6.30). Day 19 - I'm adjusting the LST a bit and also removing the downward-growing nodes. I only want to keep the shoots that have an easy time growing and don't have to wrap around the stem from the bottom. I'm also removing one of the top fan leaves so that the lower shoots can get some light. In the evening, before the plants went to sleep, I checked again, and I discovered a small yellow spot on one of the leaves of the Fast Buds plant. I flipped the leaf over, and there was the little sucker reaching out to me. It was just one, but I carefully cut off the leaf so that the little pest wouldn't fall off and crawl onto the next plant, and I took it straight to the trash. Just get it out. I postponed the spraying to the next day because I didn't want more humidity in the tent during the night. Day 20 - Right after waking up, I spray my plants with a mixture of water and neem oil from above and below thoroughly.

PsicoOne Overall, the week went pretty well, despite the small setback with the thrips. Luckily, the plants survived, and no other pests have appeared, except for fungus gnats. The capsules I tried last week show absolutely no effect, so I'm ordering some nematodes and, just to be safe, a few predatory mites that will patrol the pot. Day 23 - Today, each lady gets 1L of water with 2ml of Alfa Boost and 0.3ml of CalMag (pH 6.46). I'm also removing one of the upper sun leaves from the Fast Buds so that more light reaches the lower shoots. Day 24 - For today, there's just a bit of LST, mainly on the Fast Buds. I'm also resetting the light cycle back to 18/6. Day 25 - Both get only 1L of water today (pH 6.30), and the LST is adjusted, along with cutting off a few not-so-nice leaves. Day 27 - Today, there's more stress for me because I'm removing most of the sun leaves from both ladies and the downward-growing or too-low shoots. I want to try to get them to focus all their energy on the tips now. My last Pineapple Express from Fast Buds went into flowering around days 32 and 34, so let's see how it goes after the stress. Quick interim conclusion: The Pineapple Express from both breeders are about the same height. The one from Fast Buds is around 13cm tall, or rather long due to the LST, and the one from Seed Supplier is 11cm. Visually, the one from Fast Buds looks a bit healthier and responds well to my LST method. The difference between the two lies in the spacing of the shoots. The one from Seed Supplier forms the shoots much closer together than the one from Fast Buds, which makes my type of LST a bit more challenging.

PsicoOne This week went pretty well, except for the weather. Unfortunately, it's still very hot in my area, but it looks like next week will be better, at least in terms of temperatures. Day 30 - Both plants are getting 1.5L of water with 0.3ml per liter of CalMag. (PH 6.50). Additionally, I'm applying LST to both plants. The one from Fast Buds is getting a bit more than the one from Seed Supplier since it's significantly further along. I'm also removing a few downward-growing shoots or those that are too close to the stem, and I'm taking off some of the fan leaves to let more light reach the tops of the side shoots. Day 32 - Today, there's only 1L of water (PH 6.36), and I'm removing a fan leaf from the Fast Buds that is casting shade over the other shoots. Day 33 - I just finished some compost tea, so both ladies have each received 500ml just before the flowering stage begins. Day 35 - Today, they each only got 1L of water (PH 6.31). They actually need 1.5L again, but unfortunately, my nematodes didn't arrive in the mail today, so I gave them a bit less to make up for it tomorrow or the day after. Also, I'm marking today as the first day of flowering. The Fast Buds is a bit ahead of the one from Seed Supplier; it's about 27 cm tall (long due to LST), and the one from Seed Supplier is about 19 cm. However, the growth is different for both. The one from Seed Supplier is growing a bit more compact, with the shoots close together, while the Fast Buds has more stretching between the shoots.

PsicoOne This week went smoothly as well. All the plants received nematodes against fungus gnat larvae and thrips. And at the end of the week, I got a nice upgrade for my tent. A bigger exhaust system, grow controller, and sensors from Spider Farmer. Now I just need the PPFD sensor and air humidifier/dehumidifier, and then my setup will be complete, for now... Day 37 - Today both plants get 250ml of water with nematodes dissolved in it, and then another 250ml of water afterward to flush them a bit deeper into the soil. Day 39 - Each gets 1L of water (pH 6.45), and I also remove a few lower shoots and some of the blocking fan leaves from both plants. Day 40 - I think I gave too little water yesterday since both pots feel quite light, so I water each with another 600ml of water (pH 6.42), and the Fast Buds gets a little LST again. Day 42 - Today both get 2L of water with 0.5ml CalMag per liter (pH 6.33). The Pineapple Express from Seed Supplier is getting defoliated a bit more today. For the one from Fast Buds, I only removed a few damaged fan leaves from the lower area. Weekly Summary: The Fast Buds is about 41cm tall and is stretching a bit more than the other one. The Seed Supplier is only about 26cm tall or rather long; I think it went into flowering a bit later than the Fast Buds, so I believe the stretch is just starting. However, it is much bushier and has more shoots. I'm curious to see how it goes from here; currently, I like the one from Seed Supplier a bit better.

PsicoOne And another week to log where everything is running smoothly. Well, except for my new GGS from Spider Farmer, which works but my mobile phone can't find the Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Well, the support team is already thinking about it; they've been pondering it for a week now, but they can't seem to get out of the rut. Day 44 - Both ladies are getting 1.5L of water each with 5ml of Bio Tabs PK 5-8 per liter (pH 6.37). Additionally, some defoliation is done, and the LST is slightly adjusted. This mainly concerns the genetics from Seed Supplier, which is extremely bushy. Day 46 - Today, the Fast Buds gets 2L of water, and the Seed Supplier gets 1L of water with nematodes (pH 6.36). Day 47 - The Seed Supplier will be defoliated a bit more today. Day 48 - Both get 2L of water with 0.3ml of CalMag per liter (pH 6.42). Weekly conclusion: Both plants are performing very well. The one from Fast Buds is significantly faster; it's already at the end of week 2, while the one from Seed Supplier just started its stretch a few days ago. The Seed Supplier is surprising me; it was a bit behind at first, but it's catching up rapidly. The Fast Buds is about 67cm tall, and the Seed Supplier is only 37cm, but it has a much nicer structure.

PsicoOne Despite the intense heat this week, everything is still going according to plan. The Pineapple Express from Seed Supplier has started its stretch this week. It's definitely slower than the one from Fast Buds and has a completely different growth behavior, so I couldn't really determine the Day 1 of flowering. I estimate it transitioned to flowering around Day 42. I'm also a bit overwhelmed with defoliation since it really produces a lot of shoots. I'm really curious to see how both of them progress in the coming weeks. Day 50 - 2L of water (pH 6.40), plus the Seed Supplier got a little defoliation and the LST was adjusted a bit. Day 52 - Both received 500ml of compost tea and 1.5L of water (pH 6.50). Both plants were defoliated and the LST was adjusted again. Day 54 - 2L of water (pH 6.35) Day 56 - 2L of water (pH 6.42) - The Seed Supplier is now 58cm tall and 61cm away from the lamp. End of flowering week 1 or 2. Doesn't smell. - The Fast Buds is 87cm tall and 32cm away from the lamp. End of flowering week 3. Starting to smell a bit.

PsicoOne And another week where everything is going perfectly. No more fungus gnats or thrips, the nematodes have done a great job, but I added a few more nematodes during the week. The PE from Fast Buds lives up to its breeder, it’s extremely fast and is now starting to swell its buds. It’s also already giving off a light pineapple scent. It has now reached a height of 90cm, and I hope it stops stretching soon. The PE from Seed Supplier is taking its time but has developed significantly more shoots. The buds are developing quite differently than what I’m used to with autoflowers. It stretches first and then develops the buds, while the Fast Buds does both almost simultaneously. It’s not giving off any smell yet, and I think it’s only at the end of flowering week 2, so there might still be a bit of stretching to come. Currently, it has caught up and is 80cm tall. I’m curious to see how the buds will turn out; I hope they’ll be as firm as those from Fast Buds. In terms of growth, the Seed Supplier impresses me. It’s very bushy, but it suits it well; it’s really developing a lot of shoots, and the main stem or shoot seems to have topped itself, so I’m excited to see how its crown will look in the end. Day 58 - Both ladies are getting 2L of water today with 2.5ml/L Bio Tabs PK 5-8 (pH 6.22), and the Pineapple Express from Seed Supplier is getting a bit defoliated. Day 59 - Both are getting 1.5L of water (pH 6.46) with nematodes and 1g/L Bactrex. Day 60 - 2L of water (pH 6.50) Day 61 - The Seed Supplier is getting defoliated again, and I’m removing some shoots that are too low and hardly getting light. Still, the plant looks very bushy afterward, but I’m leaving it alone now and trying not to stress it anymore. Day 62 - 2L of water (pH 6.48)

PsicoOne The week went perfectly again. The weather has pleasant temperatures again, only the humidity was very high outside for a few days, but I managed it quite well with the GGS from Spider Farmer. This week, the PE from Seed Supplier has really caught up in terms of size. The Seed Supplier is now 100cm tall and the Fast Buds are 91cm tall. The circumference of the Seed Supplier is also gigantic for me, it's about 80 x 60cm in area. It now needs almost 2L of water daily. It only has a slight smell. The Fast Buds, on the other hand, smell very strong now and have the perfect terpene profile, very sweet, fruity, and with a light classic cannabis smell in the background. Just leaving the tent open for a few minutes is enough for my entire apartment. Even people across the street notice it. The Fast Buds are once again doing their breeder proud because they are fast. I think in 14 days it will be ready, maybe even a bit sooner. The trichomes are already all milky, the buds are very firm, and they are already forming a nice structure. Let's see how it goes with the buds from Seed Supplier, but I think it will take significantly longer than the Fast Buds and also much longer than Seed Supplier indicates, but that's okay as long as the result is right. Day 64 - 2L of water (PH 6.35) per plant, additionally, I sprayed the Seed Supplier with a solution of 1L of water and 20ml of Alfa Boost. Day 66 - 2L of water (PH 6.48) per plant. Day 67 - 2L of water (PH 6.45) only for Seed Supplier. Day 68 - 500ml of compost tea and 1.5L of water (PH 6.48) per plant. Day 69 - 2L of water (PH 6.48) per plant, and I also defoliated the Seed Supplier one last time, actually a bit late, but I was also a bit overwhelmed with it since I've never had such a large plant. I think I probably still cut off too little, but it's so beautiful that you don't want to take anything away. Day 70 - 2L of water (PH 6.45) for the Seed Supplier.

PsicoOne This week I'm harvesting the PE from Fast Buds. Its scent is very intensely sweet and fruity. The trichomes are almost all milky, and the first ones are now turning amber, which is the point for me to harvest. The Seed Supplier takes quite a bit longer, I estimate another 4-6 weeks. It's not fast, but it's huge. The smell is still very subtle, but you can detect the familiar Pineapple Express scent. I hope there's a bit more to come in terms of smell, as Fast Buds is still unbeatable so far. The pace of Fast Buds is great too; for me, they always finish between day 73 and 83 for the harvest. Day 71 - Both ladies are getting water (pH 6.48), the Fast Buds 1L and the Seed Supplier 1.5L. Day 73 - Both are getting 2L of water (pH 6.41), and the Fast Buds is getting its last defoliation. I remove all the lower sun leaves and also a few others that don't have trichomes. Then I set the light cycle to 24/0, keep the temperature at 24°C, 50% humidity, and wait about 60 hours before I cut them. Day 74 - Now only the Seed Supplier is getting my love and attention. And today that's 2L of water with 5ml/L of Bio Tabs PK 5-8 (pH 6.31). Day 76 - Today the Fast Buds will be harvested. And I set the light cycle back to 18/6 for my other ladies. Day 77 - 2L of water (pH 6.50).
