Splint Welcome to a new journey!
I’m trying out the Auto SFV OG by Dutch passion. So far, I’ve almost killed her three times. This is my second diary on here and my 4th grow ever, so forgive me my mistakes ^^
While trying to start germination via the cotton pad method, I forgot about the dehumidifier in the same room and accidentally dried the seed out, it’s visible in the picture. The other two near-death experiences for her were in her first week in soil, I’ll report on them in the belonging post.

Splint Accidenatlly almost killed her again (twice) by moving her around too much while adujsting the placement and the soil in general, should‘ve probably just let nature do it‘s thing..
anyways, she seems to be doing way better now.
I‘m trying to keep the humidity high, she seems to like it.

Splint everything is looking great this week, she’s getting bigger and I’ve started feeding. I got some new nutrients for this grow, so this is a bit of an experiment for me.

the ph is dropping, I’ll keep an eye on it
On the last day of this week, I started LST and I will start defoliating in week 4
It’s gonna be my first grow with “real” LST, not just some light bending to prevent moisture buildup

Splint continued with LST but reduced defoliation, only did one bigger chopping, noticed the first signs of pre-flower so I’m planning on removing the LST-constraints in the near future

Splint I’m still removing some leaves everyday, I prefer only removing a few leaves but instead of taking just the lowest ones I pick some from every part of the plant. I’ve had good results so
far with giving the lower buds a bit more light through this “method”.
I’ve seen a lot of online tutorials recommend exclusively removing leaves from the lowest 2-5 sections and a lot in one setting but rarely instead.
What’s your experience with defoliation? Do you prefer one or another method?
I’m currently watering once per week, giving her 5-7 liters with fertilisers over a few hours. She’s only getting watered again when the substrate is dry in the first few inches. I’m thinking about getting a cloth-pot for the next grow for better oxygen supply.
Also, it’s way too early to take a look under the microscope but I think I’ll take one anyways.
