jellyjelly Once again, being inspired by the awesome members of this site, I will use this diary to loosely track the progress of my first bonsai projects.
With these I hope to play with exposed + twisted roots (with props) and twisted/curved stems
Yay! Plant torture! (Also doing this since I’m a bit bored and would like to fiddle with plants more and not ruin my main grow LOL mainline as a test worked great too)
jellyjelly Surprise!!! Underneath the roots you can find a matchbox car along with a mini treasure chest!
This project has been so fun, even the fiancé enjoyed taking care of it while I was away 🤣 I just spritz her twice a day, focusing some days on root recovery and others in new root exposure.
Some lessons learned, I think I could’ve placed the props a little closer towards the main growth of the plant. I also wondered how this would’ve finished if I placed the props underneath the seed right when germinating (I used a transplant technique for these ones)
Will probably journal again in a couple of weeks for these!

jellyjelly SO COOL!
These plants are so remarkably tolerant!! They look so cool and are always a hit with guests.
Every other watering I just blast the hell out of the root zone lmao
Wish the perlite wasn’t there sometimes to help with the effect - or maybe rather I need some gravel to sell the effect? 🤔

jellyjelly Poor girly! Her little sibling turned out to be a bro (the mini Cooper one) - he dead now
On the bright side due to the season change, this one has begun to flower
This one worry since I haven’t amended the soil nor do I plan to :)
Hopefully, we can get a nice nug on her.
Since this girl was living outside for a bit, she’s picked up a couple critters and so I won’t be putting her in the photography room
