jln_bln Welcome to this report with Sensi Seeds - Purple Cookie Kush genetic. From week to week I am giving some additional information in the diary so you are able to follow the whole process. We started into the first week of veg phase, in an highly developed growing environment. All plants are clones and were delivered by Sensi Seeds Europe from Austria. Pictures show the 5th day in an coco mixture. Plants coming from the breeder in very healthy conditions and are already familiar with good intensity / amount of light, they never show sun burnings after the transplant into the final growing surrounding. To keep the energy costs as low as possible the HVAC is only turned on over 30* and under 22*. In this week the complete system is solar powered and has an positive energy consumption.

jln_bln Finished with the second week of vegetation. Plant gaining growing speed and show healthy conditions, with leafs up to 9 fingers. Some plants has been topped, some stay as they are. The lowest branches has been removed. Goal is to get some information for this strain, if topping is rising the yield or not. The plant used for pictures is untopped. Also there has been added predatory mites to help against thrips, in previous grows it was not possible to get rid of them, because of the natural surrounding of the building. The actual usage of power per plant is 1,85kwh/day.

jln_bln Our last week of vegetation was filled with some more actions and excitement, generally the setup is very handsome, because everything is automated. But in all grows there are some failures going on. During lamp adjustments one of the 10V signal cables where detached and half of the lamps run for the last 6 days on full power thru the night. Shit happens. Back to normal conditions, all plants been defoliated to let light and air into the plants and I used nets to get the branches more separated to each other. Finally the flowering phase will start after 20 days in vegetation. To shorten the vegetation phase it would be possible to use more plants in the same area, but caused by legal limitations, the actual amount seems to be a good compromise. In prior runs the struggle was more to keep them small enough to fullfill the limits in the height. Purple Cookie Kush will grow in good conditions, without any stress of crop steering, with stretching +100 to +150%. With adding stress during stretch I am trying to limit it to +100% and pushing the plants to a faster finish of the stretching. The HVAC was running and additional one of two stages of dehumidifiers needed to start running as well. Due to ending of summer the solar panels are not able to produce enough power to keep everything running on free, green energy. Totally the power consumption raised to 2.5 kWh per plant and day.
