PapaTerps Bubblegum Gelato - Barney's Farm
SUMMER is upon us and grows that were started around March have been harvested - that means I have empty tents! So I've decided to start another grow for this Summer and into Autumn. π
For this grow, I've selected the strain "Bubblegum Gelato" by Barney's Farm feat. Backpack Boyz (Gelato 45 x Indiana Bubblegum) - I chose this strain for her low THC content, it's berry/cream flavours, it's happy/euphoric properties and also for this collaboration between BF and BPB; I have grown a couple of their colab strains before and have been mightily impressed, so I'm excited to see how this one turns out!!!
I will be vegging her for about 4 weeks in a 5L fabric pot, and I'll use a mixture of techniques to get get as much yield as possible in the timeframe and pot size. You're all more than welcome to follow along, I will try to detail my process without overloading the diary ππ»
Day 1 (17/07)
- Seed dropped into a small metal screw tin filled with RO Tap water pH'd to 6.3 and stored in a dark warm room - she will remain here until the seed pops and a taproot appears; I will check the progress of the seed every ~12 hours.
Day 6
- She has taken some time to pop, but she finally got there and has a nice long taproot, so I've filled a small 0.1L starter pot with some All-Mix and dropped the seed in!
Day 8
- she has appeared from the soil and is reaching for the sky ππ» I'll let her grow for a week here and then I'll move her into her main grow pot; a 5L Fabric pot ππ»

βοΈ I've removed her lowest most fan leaves and bud sites as they were too far from the canopy, but other than that, she's been left to grow!
π± Week 3 of Veg, and she's working hard on developing her main stem as well as growing out her side stems! I won't be training this one and she'll be put into flower in the next couple of weeks ππ»

Week 1 Bloom
πΈ She was flipped on 14/08, so she's a few days into bloom now and she has shot up! She's the tallest girl in this 2x4, which I did not expect given how average her veg was. She wasn't totally ready for the flip to 12/12, but most of the girls were, so she just had to take a hit - luckily it seems she was ready in the end! I also moved these girls out of the 5x5 this week as there just wasn't enough space for them in there.
βοΈ I've removed one of her larger fan leaves, to improve light penetration to the lower stems, but other than that, she's been left alone! I try to do as little work as possible to my girls during the stretch phase of bloom ππ»
πΏ Watered every three days this week, with 1.5L of RO water, with nutrients mixed individually, in order and then finally, I ph'd the solution to 6.3. I've switch out her veg nutrients now for bloom nutrients; these volumes will slowly be increased over the next couple of weeks depending on her needs.
