Hell_Money Here we are, new diary for a new experiment with high temps! π
The seed germinated in around 24 hours in make-up removing cotton pads and was placed into its final pot.
No photos of the germinating seed, so just enjoy the sunset π

Hell_Money Since I was down to the last Strawberry Cheesecake seed in my stash after 2 seedlings dying from the heat, I decided to try with the Runtz seed I got as a gift from the shop.
I created a cover using a light, white cotton cloth to keep the soil as moist as possible and to shield the seedling from the direct light from the lamp, which along the dry air and soil and the high temperatures, was probably too much for the other fallen soldiers.
The two pictures above are from the first day out of soil, and since this one seems to be adapting pretty well to the new environment conditions, I decided to create a new diary, hoping she'll survive and thrive enough to keep updating π
Middle of the week update ποΈ
The seedling is still going, braving the high temperatures... But leaves in the second node are looking kind of strange?
It looks like 4 leaves are growing out, instead of 2.
Reading around I've gathered that it may be a case of polyploidy? π€
I have never seen anything like this, but we'll see how things progress!

Hell_Money I've never found a four-leaf clover in my life, but I guess this makes up for it! πΉ
This Runtz is obviously one of a kind, but the more I read, the more I can't understand which mutation this one is supposed to be showing.
So much for my trying to experiment solutions for growing seedlings in high temperatures - now I can't say whether this one survived because of my experiments, or despite them!
I'll keep her on a more nutritional schedule, since she's growing double the usual amount of leaves.
See y'all next week π
Update πΏ
For some reason, I got confused and posted as if already in week 2, while that has just begun today.
The young Runtz hasn't displayed any more signs of strange growth - I think the second and third set of leaves just came out at the same time, making it look like there was some kind of mutation, while they were just very eager to see the light π¬
The heat is probably causing her to to grow at a slower rate than usual, but at this point, I know what to expect.
See you at week 3 π

Hell_Money Third week is rolling in and everything is going fine π§π»β?
Could she be bigger at this point? Of course she could!
Is she a brave young plant surviving +30Β° temps since she sprouted? You bet your ass she is! π€π»
Yesterday I gave her the last bit of Power Roots, next irrigation is going to be with Alga Grow.
See you next week ποΈ

Hell_Money Hello hello β¨
The girl has been stretching quite a lot this last week, probably because the flowering Strawberry on her side is eating up most of the light πΆβπ«οΈ
Besides that, everything seems in order - unlike my ex, this one is not a big drinker, so I'm actually irrigating only 0.25 liters every two or so days, depending on how wet the under-pot dish is.
I don't really have the patience to LST her, so I think I'll just do some lollipopping later on.
See you next week ?

Hell_Money Good evening plant pals β¨
Another week of vegetative has gone by, and the Runtz is growing... Well, she's growing like a weed π
I think I'll start giving her the Bloom fertilizer to gently stimulate her into flowering soon.
Not much more to say, so thank you, namaste and good luck πΈ

Hell_Money Hello everyone β¨
Veg stage is slowly coming to an end - I've started giving this Runtz her daily dose of Alga Bloom and she's been growing well.
I'll start eliminating the lower branches soon, and in a few days she will take the main spot under the light, after I cut the Strawberry Banana next to her.
Temperatures are FINALLY getting lower, after the hottest summer ever - like, literally - and I think she'll have a nice flowering stage with ideal temps. Who knows, maybe I'll also be able to buy some of the additives I've been having my eye on.
All in all, a good week - hope you've had a nice one too!
Goodnight, Growers, and good mental health π΄ββ οΈ
