Blackbird_diary Seeded somewhere in may I guess, planted in the open ground in June and she took off like mad. If she had the space she could be bigger but in this short time Iβm satisfied .
The only feeding she got were some worm castings to start with and some DCM organic pellets for vegtables. She really stands out with 2m+ now and is just happy!

Week 2. Flowering
2mo ago
1/2
Blackbird_diary This week it rained quite a bit, unlike the dry months before. At this stage of flowering, it's not a disaster yet, but I'm hoping for a bit more sun in the upcoming month of September. The good news is that the soil is well soaked again and the plant looks very happy π
Blackbird_diary Week 4 is almost over and I'm happy with how everything is going. The flowers are developing nicely and are getting more purple. There's also a bit of resin starting to form in the flowers. The weather could be better, but it could also be a lot worse. We're halfway through flowering now, the crucial phase is coming up πππΌ

Week 5. Flowering

Blackbird_diary I'm increasingly impressed by this strain. She's a sight to behold, the colors are beautiful, you can see them getting thicker every day, and while they won't be the biggest buds, they're already rock solid. Just 2 to 3 weeks to go after this week, hopefully she'll stay healthy and rot-free!
The smell is subtle, a super sweet scent that sometimes reminds me of those little cola bottles. The aroma isn't overpowering and is anything but the typical weed smell so far. But that could change quickly once the resin production kicks into high gearβ¦πππΈ

Week 6. Flowering

Blackbird_diary Week 6 and Iβm even more impressed with this strain. It's insane how well itβs doing. In my 25 years of growing, I've never encountered a strain like this, and I've had some gems. It looks like there's only 1, maybe 2 weeks left, and so far I've only found a tiny bit of rot that was probably caused by a worm.
Iβm holding my breath for the last days of her life because itβs been quite humid, but for now, sheβs holding up very well against the rain and wind.
The resin production is starting to increase significantly, the buds feel rock hard and sticky, and the colors are impossible to capture in a photo. Deep purple and red-pink flowers, just drool-worthy to look at. However, the scent remains very subtle and extremely discreet. A smell that doesnβt remind you of cannabis but has a very layered and sweet terpene profile when you rub the buds, with cola taking the forefront. A scent that currently doesnβt give anything away, and with 1 week to go according to Sweet, it should be fine.
I had this strain indoors last year and it was very nice weed with a similar scent and structure, but it really shines under the sun in the ground.
All praise to the breeders at Sweet Seeds for this strain for the uniform seeds and the most beautiful colors I've ever seen.

Week 7. Flowering

Blackbird_diary Spotted rotten spots for 2 days in a row, so the knife is going in quietly. Harvested part of it today, but another part can wait another day. She could have definitely used a few more days, but the risk seems too high at this stage. The days are nice, but in the mornings, the humidity climbs to 98% at its peak... And with buds this hard, things can change very quickly. The smell is still not dominant, although there's a really heavy scent in the drying room from the trimming. It's a sweet, heavy smell that doesn't remind you of weed, although during trimming? If I compare it to my Jack Herer from this summer, this smell is much subtler, sweeter, and more complex. In that one photo, you can see some buds that I trimmed further because they were close to the rotten parts, and I have to say I'm very satisfied with how this weed looks. Whether it's ripe enough to be harvested is debatable, but it's definitely much better than rotten weed.. π
Blackbird_diary All the flowers have been harvested and are hanging to dry, photos and smoke report will follow later, but I still wanted to show you the stem and the thick roots, they are gigantic. The lower part of the stem and the branches had already completely turned to wood. I've rarely seen this! This really speaks for this special genetics!! Plus, you don't need expensive fertilizers to maintain big plants and let them reach their full potential. Just a few scoops of worm castings around the roots and a handful of organic fertilizer pellets from DMC for the vegetable garden. If the soil is alive, you have everything you need besides water. Plants are plants, and whether it's cannabis or vegetables usually doesn't matter much when growing organically. The soil is the factory that regulates and releases everything when the plant needs it. The nutrients for this plant cost me about β¬10 in total, and the soil in the pots during cultivation is reused soil.
It shouldn't be that difficult and definitely not expensive, especially if you have a piece of full ground available. But this method is also perfectly applicable in pots, although I would keep a bottle of liquid nutrients handy, especially in the smaller pots. It's amazing how simple growing can be and still achieve the best results. ππΈππΈ
Those conditions were definitely unfavorable, and you made the most of it (flower looks great)! I recently had to harvest a plant early too :/ never a great feeling. Happy growing!
@jellyjelly,here its normal to harvest to early, Sweet seeds say itβs a 7 weeks strain so the 7 weeks are passed and i have real great flowers. Rock hard and just beautiful to look at.
So Iβm happy with it π
But maybe she could be better and I will see on the smaller buds that I leave on for some days more but if I let the bigger flowers go for a few more days it could be a mold disaster.
