All Gas OG Auto x Sonnenerde

Aircoholic This was a difficult germination. The seed took a bit longer than the other parallel grows, when it finally came out, it was still wearing the seedcap, which I helped to remove. Then the seedling was still caught in the protective skin and couldn't open up. So I helped with another operation and a drop of water, to loosen the skin. It then finally opened up and started to grow - but today I noticed, it's not in the best shape - there are a few spots on the leafs, and it overall looks rather small and weak, but she wants to live, and I hope she'll look a lot better in a few days. She's a bit of a problem plant, but I love her anyway, or especially because of that. I increased the light distance to get her around 300 ppfd, so she won't burn under too much light. And of course I crossed a pair of fingers, for good meassure.

Aircoholic After a bit of a rough start with needed assistance in removing the seed cap and the skin underneath, she looked a bit rough around the edges. Now she bounced back beautifully and even though she's still rather small, she's definitely developing nicely and looking really healthy. I've gradually raised the PPFD from around 180 just after germination to about 300 and now that she seems comfortable, I've raised the value to 420 (!) - but I'm observing, if that's too hot for her, I'll reduce it down again.

Aircoholic The smallest plant of this grow - but she's growing and looking pretty good now. Still somewhat slower and smaller than the others, but considering her slow and late start, she's doing really well. I've decided against any type training - maybe some light LST, but probably just totally natural, I want to avoid any stress, that could reduce her growth. The light intensity is around 650 PPFD - a balance between pushing some photons to stimulate more growth while keeping stress low.

Aircoholic She's mostly recovered from the slow start and is now beginning to stretch out. She's showing early flowering signs in the form of first pistills. She had a bit of heat and drought stress when I left the plants on their own for a couple of days, in which All Gas OG grew rather close to the light. This resulted in a few jagged leafs and few deformed leafs. Here's the mechanism behind that, as far as I've understand it (if I'm wrong, please let me know, I'm always looking to improve!): the soil dried out, causing the plant to close their stomata to save water from evaporating. This also reduces the CO2 uptake of the plant and thus its photochemical capacity - basically, the plant can only make use of a small amount of incoming light for photosynthesis, while the remaining photons can't be absorbed by the plant, which leads to oxidative stress on the leaf tissue, causing clawing, jagged leafs and other symptoms. Now everything should be back on schedule, I'm installing a Blumat Tensiometer today to make sure water uptake is good. she will remain a rather small plant and not live up to her full potential, but I'm still hoping she'll grow some nice buds nevertheless.
