LovelyTerps August 21 2026 She's now throwing out a few pistils at the nodes, and she's probably going to keep stretching for some time yet. Website description says she has a mind of her own and the stretching and branching seems to never stop. It'll be interesting to see how tall she reaches after a couple more weeks. Hopefully the weather holds out for the next couple of months, as the seasons change rapidly here and October is entirely unpredictable in terms of temperature and weather. If she survives until harvest, she's going to be enduring some fairly cold nights I imagine. Probably not below freezing though, but definitely enough to get some colors showing. 🍂

LovelyTerps August 28 2026 She is starting to stack flowers now, and still stretching. She's actually branching more than stretching, but it has been rainy and cold over the past week, with last night dipping to 9 Celsius. She's looking pretty beaten up at the newer growth from all the cold. The forecast shows it warming up for the next week or two, with warmer nights as well, so with any luck she will get the sun and warmth needed to pack on some weight and finish.

LovelyTerps Friday September 4 2026 She's still stretching and in the past week she has started to bulk up. It was raining and/or overcast most of the past week, but since yesterday the sunny weather has come back and is looking to stay that way into next week. Temperature lows at night are reaching as low as 9C, and around 24C during daylight hours. I took the opportunity to brush a bit of 2-stroke Lemonade pollen on her larf sites at the bottom. While I was careful, it's always remotely possible other sites get hit. I'm not that worried as this was an experimental run to begin with, as where I live is rugged terrain with tall trees, and only 4-5 hours of direct sunlight make it through on the best day. considering all that, she's doing better than I'd hoped. It's also very humid outside still, but so far she's been a champ. I gave her a top dressing of Kelp extract yesterday. I've been giving her nutrients here and there, but she was planted in some pretty rich soil with Hen Manure, blood meal, bone meal, urea, worm castings, cal-mag, etc., and it's been enough for the past few months. Fingers cross the weather holds out until mid October, otherwise I may need to put a tent around her at night or something lol.

LovelyTerps September 11 2026 She's hanging in there and still relatively healthy. The weather has been chaotic in every way possible. I had to remove a rotted bud from the main cola a foot down from the top, but everything around it still looks normal. With any luck I caught it in time from spreading, but with the humidity spikes and chilly temps at night it's going to be rough. Night time temps this weekend are looking to dip as low as 5C, but then go back to "normal" next week. At least that means it'll be sunny and warm in the day. The larf that I pollinated a week ago seems to have at least partly taken. It rained pretty heavily a few days after the attempt but a few of the sites look nice and wiry looking already.

LovelyTerps September 18 2026 I've had to remove a few more buds this week due to botrytis, but I don't think I'll have too much problem with that from here on out, as the daytime RH% is forecast to be around 40% moving forward. With that comes the downside of frost advisories in the forecast tonight, and probably for the next week judging by the lows. As can be seen in the pictures that I took this morning, I have put a frame up around and above her, and have since put some transparent barrier over the top to help with dew and rain, and to also cover the sides with blankets at night IF temperatures are forecast to dip below freezing. There's not much else that can be done to keep her alive until harvest, so fingers crossed this is just a short-term cold spell.

LovelyTerps September 25 2026 She smells incredible now. The aroma is a nice cherry soda smell, with some creamy and earthy/chocolatey undertones. She is swelling and ripening quickly, and the pistil hairs are taking on a pinkish hue as they start to die off. The buds are not the biggest due her only getting a few hours a day of direct sunlight, but its better than nothing. Last week I put a transparent vapor barrier over the top third of the frame, and it's helped keep her from getting morning dew accumulating. I haven't seen any more bud rot, and the humidity during the day is anywhere from 40-50% on average, so that's been very helpful. There was some powdery mildew that was starting, but it's subsided. She should be ready in another 2 or 3 weeks, depending on the weather and how fast she ripens. The spell of cold nights is being replaced (according to the forecast) by a couple weeks of milder nights in the 10-15C range, so hopefully I won't have to resort to covering the sides with blankets at night before harvest time.

LovelyTerps October 2 2026 We're into the home stretch now. Pistils are dying off, ambers are appearing on sugar leaves, and there's a few amber trichomes on the flowers scattered here and there. The aroma under the canopy is a dominant cherry candy and cream smell, reminiscent of a discontinued candy called Campinos. There's also a faint whiff of skunk every now and then. This could be my last update before harvest, depending on the weather. Temperatures are supposed to dip below freezing for approximately 6 hours early Tuesday morning, but the forecast is changing constantly and has gone from -5C up to -2C now, and it also tends to be warmer where I am due to being surrounded by lakes and a lot of bedrock beneath me (yabba-dabba-doo!). I can probably keep her from freezing by giving lots of water on Monday and covering the 4 sides with blankets Monday evening if necessary.

LovelyTerps Harvested October 9th 2026. Updated Smoke on October 14th. She had a terrible growing environment from veg through harvest, and yet she was as tough as nails all the way through. I didn't even expect her to survive, let alone produce anything, and she ended up being incredibly resistant to extreme heat and cold, high humidity and lots of pests, and at best 4 or 5 hours of direct sunlight per day. She was also subjected to high beams from car lights at night, porch lights too, and she never hermed once. The smell is very much a dark cherry and cream with a hint of thyme, as advertised for this pheno. Weirdly though the taste is very much of grapes and cream with a touch of sour. I mean it makes sense I guess, the parent strains are cherry dragon and grape dragon, but to smell like cherries and taste like grapes is pretty cool. I had my first session of the day with this strain, using a clean dosing capsule in my dry herb vape. The effects lean on the energetic heady side. There's a bit of the headband effect at first, and also a tiny bit of a mental stimulant effect that borders on psychedelic. This caused a bit of anxiety for a few minutes before a stupid smile appeared on my face that kind of just stayed there for a good while. Makes it easy to have a giggle. After the initial heady buzz wore off I just wanted to sit back and relax and drink something refreshing. There's a bit of dry eye, but no cotton mouth. I definitely recommend this strain. You may need to pop a few seeds to get the correct pheno though.
