Gorilla Zkittlez in a big box

foxbberg Hey there lovely people! after a long absence i finally completed my last report and proudly wanna shout out to y'all beloved fellows: Welcome to my new attempt! What we've got here is an improved version of my perlite-bucket-and-tank-system. As they made me so happy last time, it had to be Gorilla Zkittlez again😁. Here's what i've done: Took a big box (80x60x40cm) and drilled some holes into the bottom, Put it on another box (80x60x12) wich serves as a water-tank. For better access to the tank, boxes were stapled with a little offset. Filled the big box with: 5 cm of pebbles a bug-net (wich will hopefully avoid big roots from reaching the tank) 10 cm of perlite mix of 70% perlite/30% vermiculite to fill up the rest. Features: 2 small aquarium-pumps for water-transfer 1 small aquarium-pump for mixing 1 small air-pu,mp with 4 airstones 1 Filter-pump for cleaning ns from biofilm, organic residue from the bio-komplex used and any other smeer that builds up in the tank. the nutrient solution gets pumped up through hoses and sprays out through little holes, i drilled into the hoses. After washing all the substrate materials, i maneuverd the boxes into their final position and begann to fill up the upper box. With now already about 40 liters of water, trapped in perlite and vermiculite, i prepared an EC 2.0 ns, flushed the system with it and ended up at 1.0 (pH set to 5.6) 💪. The babies arrived in a relatively poor condition - after an endless 4 days of shipping. In the same delivery came some Gorilla Sherbert F1 clones, wich obviously took the stress way better! Poor me israelites...... wihtout any further preparations, they went into the box. Light was at 1 of 10 lifted as high as possible.......... over the week i lowered it to about 50 cm and dialed up to 30%. it was a bit cold for the start (~18°C) but as i lowered the lamp we came to about 24°C at day 4 with a constant rh of about 65% - perfect conditions to develop some roots. the nerdy stuff: as things go...... i didn't have my new fertilizer available, so i started with the old formula, wich exceeds our desired NO3/NH4 ratio, but has more sulfate. Since it worked perfectly in the last runs i wasn't worried at all😎. otherwise they got some 0,3g/L of bio-complex (kelp, humic acid, mykos, roots-bacteria) and 0,05g/L of silicate-additive and 0,5g/L Ca-additive. foxbberg changed ns, cleaned out the tank and added some 320ml of H2O2, to keep it tidy clean😊. Got the ns up to EC 1.2 and set pH to 5.8. To avoid bio-film i filter the ns after 48-72 hours after applying bio-complex (wich i feed with every new ns). In Hydro systems bio-complex shows its strongest effects in the first 48hrs. In the 1st week i filtered after exactly 48hrs and hardly saw any residue in the tank....... this week i waited 72hrs and had visible build-up at the surface of the tank (pics). The babies started showing signs of led-disease after i lowered the lamp down to 40 cm, but already recover without touching the lamp again. Day 11 GROWTH!!! Now they wanna take off…… Day 12 Supercropped the babies and installed trellis-netting - this time in a sturdy frame - and set it to about 15 cm above the box. Ns constantly at EC 1.2 and pH at 6.1 now. Day 13 The babies startet erecting their heads, right after bending them yesterday…… within 4 hrs they all looked into sun😎. Read pH yesterday, just before lights out….. 6.5 This morning it was back at 6.0/6.1. STAY TUNED!

foxbberg Changed ns and cleaned out the tank. Set the fresh ns to EC 1.8 wich made an EC of 1.5 after flushing twice. pH is at 5.7 Thoughts: Ramping up to 1.5 might have been a little harsh- will turn up the light as well….. so they can make use of the food 😉. Using H2O2 along with the bio-complex could possibly harm the bacteria in the bio-complex…… next week i‘ll add H2O2 after filtering👍🏾. The babies look as good as they can, after their LST ………green starts getting darker and they start rising up the bent stems again. Day 17 Filtered the ns. EC read 1.2 so they‘ll get some N-P-K today…… First tops just reach the netting Day 19 I can almost watch them babies grow - i mean….. i‘ve been astonished many times, when plants start to really grow….. but this time it‘s different….. you can lyrically see how leafs move along the trellis-netting 👀!!! It‘s more like observing an animal. Day 20 Tried to capture the vigorous growth in pictures…..: Wtf? In only 13 hrs. ( 6 of them lights off) it developed new mass….. stem, leafs new shoots Interesting: It’s always the plants in the back of the tent, that grow faster and bigger! Same phenomenon on soil or in single hydro-buckets, under different light alignment (90deg turned), different positions of the humudifier…. It‘s always those in the back! Is it the fan? Is it stress from opening the tent couple of times a day? Latent-deep-earth-magnetism? Any theories someone💡? Day 21: Organized the tops a little….. lights up to 50% for 9hrs daily and 40% for the last 9hrs…. ……t.b.c.

foxbberg Changed ns …… now @ EC 1.7 The nerdy stuff: As a result of my testing new growth-fertilzer, i‘m working with extremely high Ca/Mg figures right now. Future ns will be way more conservative (~100mg Ca/~35mg Mg). Plants don‘t show any signs of any nutrient excesses or lockouts. The babies produce a lot of leaf-mass and really push forward. Yet they are dark green - new shoots and foliage turn dark rapidly. Day 23 All the new growth reacts so well to the light, that i weave away light-thieves whenever i can, to get more strong shoots. Day 24/25 Leafs start to grow from big to huuuge. Vigourous nutrient-uptake….. filled up some ns to get back to 1.6. Daily weaving….. everything fine so far . Day 26 Weaving and wondering how big leafs can grow in such a small tent Day 27 Same same….. t.b.c
