Gorilla Zkittlez in a big box

foxbberg Hey there lovely people! after a long absence i finally completed my last report and proudly wanna shout out to y'all beloved fellows: Welcome to my new attempt! What we've got here is an improved version of my perlite-bucket-and-tank-system. As they made me so happy last time, it had to be Gorilla Zkittlez again😁. Here's what i've done: Took a big box (80x60x40cm) and drilled some holes into the bottom, Put it on another box (80x60x12) wich serves as a water-tank. For better access to the tank, boxes were stapled with a little offset. Filled the big box with: 5 cm of pebbles a bug-net (wich will hopefully avoid big roots from reaching the tank) 10 cm of perlite mix of 70% perlite/30% vermiculite to fill up the rest. Features: 2 small aquarium-pumps for water-transfer 1 small aquarium-pump for mixing 1 small air-pu,mp with 4 airstones 1 Filter-pump for cleaning ns from biofilm, organic residue from the bio-komplex used and any other smeer that builds up in the tank. the nutrient solution gets pumped up through hoses and sprays out through little holes, i drilled into the hoses. After washing all the substrate materials, i maneuverd the boxes into their final position and begann to fill up the upper box. With now already about 40 liters of water, trapped in perlite and vermiculite, i prepared an EC 2.0 ns, flushed the system with it and ended up at 1.0 (pH set to 5.6) 💪. The babies arrived in a relatively poor condition - after an endless 4 days of shipping. In the same delivery came some Gorilla Sherbert F1 clones, wich obviously took the stress way better! Poor me israelites...... wihtout any further preparations, they went into the box. Light was at 1 of 10 lifted as high as possible.......... over the week i lowered it to about 50 cm and dialed up to 30%. it was a bit cold for the start (~18°C) but as i lowered the lamp we came to about 24°C at day 4 with a constant rh of about 65% - perfect conditions to develop some roots. the nerdy stuff: as things go...... i didn't have my new fertilizer available, so i started with the old formula, wich exceeds our desired NO3/NH4 ratio, but has more sulfate. Since it worked perfectly in the last runs i wasn't worried at all😎. otherwise they got some 0,3g/L of bio-complex (kelp, humic acid, mykos, roots-bacteria) and 0,05g/L of silicate-additive and 0,5g/L Ca-additive. foxbberg changed ns, cleaned out the tank and added some 320ml of H2O2, to keep it tidy clean😊. Got the ns up to EC 1.2 and set pH to 5.8. To avoid bio-film i filter the ns after 48-72 hours after applying bio-complex (wich i feed with every new ns). In Hydro systems bio-complex shows its strongest effects in the first 48hrs. In the 1st week i filtered after exactly 48hrs and hardly saw any residue in the tank....... this week i waited 72hrs and had visible build-up at the surface of the tank (pics). The babies started showing signs of led-disease after i lowered the lamp down to 40 cm, but already recover without touching the lamp again. STAY TUNED!
