GreenHobbit Kali China
Kali China is alive! 🇨🇳
The Kali China is beautifully upright and already has a nicely developed first true leaf pair. The next shoot is also already visible in the middle.
The slightly longer stem is definitely intentional – when repotting later, the little root ball will just go a few centimeters deeper.
So far, a really clean start. 🌱

GreenHobbit 🌱 Kali China – Veg Week 1
ACE Seeds | The Green Nines
The first week of veg is done! 💚😏
Kali China has really developed nicely over the last few days. At first, there was a pretty delicate little plant with a long, thin stem and the first two serrated leaves. But the little one clearly had more in store! 😅
By October 6th, the first true leaves were already well developed, and the next pair of leaves was showing in the middle. Two days later, she had already gained a decent amount of leaf area. The stem was still quite long, but the plant stood stable and overall looked healthy.
By October 14th, things were really moving forward. Several new leaves had developed, and Kali China was becoming bushier. I find her leaf structure particularly interesting. Some leaves are slightly wavy and show a somewhat uneven green coloration. Whether this is just a quirk of the genetics or related to the conditions is still unclear. No significant damage or dead leaf areas are visible, though.
The little one is still in her seedling pot with Floragard Growmix. She is being lit by the Spider Farmer SE1500 at 34% power and 40 cm distance. The humidity is around 65%, and the temperatures range between 18 and 25 °C. The pH is between 6.0 and 6.3.
With these conditions, she seems to be doing quite well so far. We’ll keep an eye on a few minor leaf irregularities, but for now, there’s no reason to pull out half the nutrient lineup. 😂
Next up will be the move to a 1-liter pot once the little seedling pot is no longer sufficient.
My conclusion: A nice start for Kali China! Initially a bit leggy, but now with plenty of leaf mass and visible growth. I’m excited to see how this ACE genetics develops in the coming weeks. 🌱💚
