CosmicParachute This will be my first grow using autos, coco coir and the Autopot Easy2grow system (with DIY reservoir and tray.
I'll be using 50/50 pre-buffered coco coir and perlite, with a 2cm expanded clay later at the bottom. the expanded clay has been sitting in 5.8 water for the past week to stabilize it's pH before lining the pots.
As for nutrients, I'll be using Remo micro, grow, bloom, calmag and also silica.
Before planting, I have saturated the medium with a light solution of 1ml/L of CalMag and 0.5ml/L of silica and Remo micro and grow, with an EC of 0.89 and PH of 5.90 (the silica gets the pH way high, it took around 18 drops of pH up to get it to 5.90.
GERMINATION:
26/09 20 hours in a glass of water;
27/09 Then 24 hours in the paper towels. One seed with around 1cm and another with 2 cm.
27/09 night: Both planted directly into their final 7l pots with 50/50 coco and perlite mix.
The pots have been placed in the tent 50cm away from the light with a ppfd of 187, on a 18/6 schedule (off at 11 am and on at 5 pm). 24°c temps and 70% humidity locked in.
I'll leave them alone for 72 hours now, since the media is already damp with enough water to last these days in the downard root formation.
29/09 - 72 hours after planting, they have emerged. I'll leave them with their humidity domes for today, propped up a bit to acclimate them to the tent. I'll consider this day 1.
02/10 - day 4 - they look good, nicely green. Coco is starting to dry out, I'll let them cruise through the lights off period, and probably lightly water them in a ring to encourage lateral root growth.
06/10 - day 8 - Transitioning from seedling to early veg. Have been doing light waterings with 50ml on expanding rings daily to promote vertical root expansion, same light mix as the initial coco watering , ph5.9 to 6.1
Slight increase in ppfd, from 160 to 180.
Vpd kept stable at 0.8/0.9.
As we transition to week 1 of veg in the next 3 days, should start seeing more growth topside.
