Growcilla Hey everyone. Here’s a little project of mine. It’s all about achieving the maximum yield with as little cost as possible. As this little journey will show, this is definitely achievable in an absolutely efficient way.
The plant was delivered to me on March 25th by post. Mandarine Jam (Sensi Seed)
Unfortunately, I forgot to take pictures, as it sometimes goes, so the first pictures are four weeks later, and by then the plant had already reached sixty-five centimeters! The initial phase started in my 2x2x2 meter tent under a 300-watt lamp with my Light Rail for moving light.

Growcilla So my dear friends, in these pictures we are in the tenth week. As you can see, the plant has massively increased in size and width; its measurements at this point were 130x120. On this day, I transplanted it into ninety liters. And as you can see, it really likes the real sun. 😁

Growcilla So on August 20th, I moved back into the tent. Which of course was taken down because the plant no longer fit due to its size (195x185). I left the frame up so I can better spread the plant out and increase the light penetration. At this point, it needs thirty liters of water every five days.

Growcilla So, a little defoliated and a little tied down. As you can see, I always work with a lot of wind on my plants. This way, the stems become nice and strong. I've never had to tie a plant down to prevent the buds from breaking.

Growcilla As you can see in this video, the room is 12 m², and the frame of the tent is 2 m by 2 m by 2 m. The plant is defoliated, tied down, and bent. And it's already going into flowering 😁!

Growcilla So my dear ones, it's October 8th. As you can see, the plant is well advanced in flowering. It looks beautiful; in the middle, I have a few yellow leaves because I was struggling a bit with a small nutrient blockage. As you can see from the trichomes, I have about seven to fourteen days until harvest. And yes, that's a 300-watt lamp from Spider Farm. I'm using a Light Rail, which massively increases the efficiency of the lighting; the whole setup costs me two euros and ten cents a day (electricity consumption).
October 10th
I've now defoliated the plant for 4 hours, so yesterday for 2 hours and today for 2 hours... That means I've removed all the long-stemmed leaves. Tomorrow I'll continue. First, to simplify the harvest (anyone who's harvested a plant like this knows what I mean). Second, to reduce the potential mold pressure. Now some will say that this could possibly affect the taste, but that's not the case. With a plant of this size, two meters by two meters, you don't have to worry about the leaves during the drying process when you hang the plant whole. With smaller plants, however, you shouldn't do it too aggressively, as it might affect the taste.
Furthermore, I've added a few more pictures; as you can see, the stem is 7x7 cm. And most of the buds are about five centimeters, at least the ones I can reach; the ones in the middle are definitely a bit stronger. And I know you're not supposed to squeeze the buds, but I did it anyway, rock hard. 🤪 The smell is now extremely intense. I sometimes feel like I can taste it in my mouth after leaving the room...😄😄😄 Oh, and after I was done with the leaves, I had to take a shower and change clothes. Otherwise, the whole house would smell like the plant.😄😄😄
Sensi Seeds, as always, is gigantic: I've been using your seeds since 1994 and you just keep getting better. What has happened genetically with you over the last 20 years is simply overwhelming; the current plant from you is incredible – the size, the strength, the smell, just unbelievable. This plant does require a bit more work due to the immense growth, but otherwise, it's actually easy to handle. Keep it up.

Growcilla I wish everyone a wonderful weekend; this morning at 5:30 AM it was time, the chainsaw was sharp and off we went: tree cut down, hung up to the ceiling, fan adjusted, dehumidifier set accordingly. Wonderful, I can't say anything about the wet weight, as I dry the plant whole; I'm definitely curious about the dry weight and we'll see what it turns out to be. Now it's time to wait for the next 10 to 14 days and then we'll get started.
This plant grew with me from March 26 to October 17😁 (205 days)
@Condocannibus, "If you read through my diary, you will notice that I didn't actually do much and didn't do anything special either: no big lamps, perfectly normal soil from the hardware store, and the good seeds.(^-^*)
@Growcilla thanks man. I'm especially very satisfied with the quality of the white diesel buddy. Really awesome! 😀 I dream at night of buds like yours. I think you have a beautiful grow. keep on growing🌱🌱
@TruTraTri, it works, it's not just there for decoration XD I used it, 25 cm battery-operated, and of course, there are also gas ones from STIHL, but when you have to fell trees like that, doing it alone with a hand saw is always pretty rough. And since my wife didn't want to get up at 5:30 AM, I took the chainsaw with me. 😂😂😂
@Growcilla, okay the look.. 90-liter pot 😅 I was thinking about my small pots, then it would have been about a handspan big 😹 But 25 cm leaf is still super cute 😍😘 I just think there's unfortunately a market gap for a fine trim version in pocket size.. you know, for two fingers where you keep cutting yourself because everything is small and fiddly. 👻
@TruTraTri, yeah you're right, how awesome would that be: a mini chainsaw, one or two fingers long, to nicely defoliate in the bushes, best as a keychain! 😍😂😍
A 205-day run and a chainsaw harvest 😅 Mandarine Jam really went all out on this one! 🌱
Thank you for this diary and for growing with us since 1994, it really means a lot 💚
I only grow them that size under 1000 watts, usually they flower starting from 50% dimmed around 18 inches from the light at 700 par, how in the world are you only using one low watt LED light, you need that cannabis to give the fruit at least 600 par for good cannabinoids
@Scippybaby, hey my dear, I understand your skepticism. But it works wonderfully. I'll be happy to upload some pictures later so we can check out the trichomes. The smell is amazing, and the development of the buds is gigantic. And this is all part of an experiment, as I mentioned at the beginning of the story. I usually use a 1000-watt lamp. But I was curious about what I could get out of a cannabis plant with minimal electrical effort. That means I'm using a 300-watt LED lamp attached to a light rail at a distance of 35 to 40 cm above the plant. In the final stage, 35 cm. The movement of the light rail drastically increases the light penetration. Furthermore, cannabis grows even in the Ural Mountains, where the autoflowers come from, and the summer is extremely short with little sun, and these plants still flower properly.... With the current setup, I have a power consumption of 1.31 euros a day at 18 hours of runtime during the growth phase. Even less during flowering.... And I had a short run before with an autoflowering plant that I smoked with my buddies, and we noticed no change in the effect; it got us just as stoned as a plant grown with a thousand watts did.😉
