I have quite a few doubts about this.

I have never bothered with it it's only an average measurement for that strain each plant is different and can take more or less light, feed temp.rh... push the boundaries 💚grow on

PPFD is how much usable light hits the canopy (µmol/m²/s), so measure at canopy height, not at the lamp. Rough targets for photoperiod plants: seedlings 200-400, veg 400-600, flower 600-900 (up to ~1000 with good airflow and temps under 28°C). At week 3 aim for about 400-500. Photone gives a rough reading, a PAR meter is better. No meter? Use the manufacturer's PPFD map for your lamp at a given distance, and watch the plants: tacoing leaves and bleached tops mean too much, stretching means too little. Over a 18/6 cycle, 500 PPFD gives about 32 DLI

ThePower19 This week we've seen a big change in the plants. I had to do another topping in the middle of the week because one of them was getting too tall, and as for the topped ones, they've recovered perfectly. The plants in general, after a mini cleanup of the lower leaves, have responded well; they've continued to grow leaves, and regarding growth, the main stem has thickened and the side branches have started to grow, and some of them quite well. Today we switched to 12/12, having done a slightly more aggressive defoliation so that all those side shoots keep growing and get good light. We lowered the light to 45cm and increased the power to 50% to achieve between 400 and 600 PPFD. (We'll see how they respond this week.) 2 of them haven't responded as I expected and have stayed a bit smaller, one of them surely due to poor nutrient absorption, and the other I imagine is due to genetics. (These are just assumptions.) We're watering with 0.5L per pot due to the drop in temperature. We'll have to play around with the watering and keep an eye on the substrate's humidity.
