My_Little_Grow So it's been a successful start to this round of plants, but with a major f#@k up thrown in. As a bit of background, I've been a grower for decades, but recently had a break of almost 2 years. So this round of plants will not be flowering at the same time, but split into 3 separate lots. This is in order to kick start the perpetual grow that I'm used to running. I donated my grow equipment to some deserving friends when I stopped growing & I've moved home since then. So I've been getting together the bits I need to get going & starting to get set up. I have got myself both veg & flower tents with most of the trimmings. It's certainly not what I want, but it does cover what I need👍 The one thing that I didn't give away with my equipment, are my seeds. Happily I kept them in a box at the back of my fridge. Initially I was thinking of growing again so I put just one seed in to soak. But alas it didn't burst into life, some of my seeds I've had for a long time. By then I'd decided that I was definitely going set again & seeing as some of my seeds may be duds I wasn't going to take chances. So I decided to put 20 seeds soaking this time, just to cover my bases. Although I could only put 8 strains into the information box. There are actually 14 strains from 14 breeders which made up the 20 seeds. It messes with my head if I pull down a big mono crop and get stuck smoking the same thing for ages. Nice bit of variety , that's the thing. So I put the seeds into 14 numbered cups. Each with a 1% hydrogen peroxide solution & a miniscule pinch of Raw nutrients Kelp. As it's great for encouraging cell division. Full of all the goodies, cytokinins, auxins, gibberellins. The kind of things that make kelp the fastest growing plant on the planet. Anyway, 14 numbered plastic cups with seeds soaking. A lovely neat hand written list to go onto the pin board in the grow room😁 I sat back and rolled a big one satisfied with a good job well done 👍. Then I promptly threw out the list when I had a quick tidy before bed. They emptied the bins in the morning, perfectly timed if you don't mind me saying. So that's why from now on I will be writing the strain onto each cup, definitely switching to a better system 🤦 So I know which seeds I have. I just don't know which ones are which & has only become less certain with each passing day. I don't suppose it matters which is which really, they'll all get turned into hash or smoked either way. Who knows, maybe it will turn out that I love the process of trying to work out which is which during flower😂. Of the 20 I put into the medium after their soak, 18 if them made it up and above ground so much for being duds. Please bear with me as this is my first grow diary and am still getting used to how it's all done. Now I need to work out how to post photos & if I can post them anywhere in the text, or only at the end.

My_Little_Grow It's been a good few days when it comes to setting up the new grow. The plants are doing well & the environment is getting dialled in. So first off I've had a good result on the nutrients and grow things department. About 20 years ago, I helped a friend to set up his fist grow & walked with him through the first couple of cycles. Back in the day then resources were few and far between. It's was bro science or no science 😂 so someone to share a bit of knowledge was a real blessing. Most of my learning was done by trial and error, under big fluorescent bulbs🤦. The joys of living in a prohibition mad country. Anyway, he went on to develop a real passion for the plant and hasn't stopped since. Well, what with me just having started growing again after a couple of years off. I thought he might be the guy to contact to see if he had anything special in his mother room just now. A little something special for the corner of the tent while I start my search for my own mother's. Boy I'm glad I called him. He's doing well which is good, it's been a long time since I've seen him. I drove for a couple of hours to pay him a visit. "Come into my work" he says. Turns out his work is a grow shop😁 he's owned & ran one for the last 8 years. So he was kind enough to load me up with nutrients & a few other bits. The nutrients are a mix of a line called Indica Nutrients, made in the UK. Although I'd not heard of them. The line never really caught on, but my plants won't know that. Then I've also got some of a line called BioGreen, I've heard of them before but never ran them. So I've probably got enough plant feed for the next few years. Even if I run at max capacity for me. Happy days. When I told him that I'd ended up growing in Autopots, he grabbed me one of their Tray2grow systems. It would appear from the play about with it that I've had so far, that is going to be a well used bit of equipment. It works on the same principle as the Autopots. It's a big tray with channels moulded into the base. You get a wicking mat that sits in the tray & gets tucked into the channels. The channels then fill with water/nutrients to a set level guided by a float valve and reservoir. Then you can just sit your plants, of any size or stage of growth onto the top. The plants will feed itself via capillary action & wick the water up. You could put 20 small plants in 1lt pots, or 3 large ones in 20lt pots. As long as they have a decent root system in place, they'll be just fine. Apparently. I'm testing now. But indicators are good. The seedlings have hit their growth now. I topped them all at the 4th internode. Usually I would have let them get larger first & then cut them back to the 4th or 5th. But if I'm honest, I think I'm a bit too keen to get in about my plants. It's been too long since I've bent a girl over and tied her down, if you follow me. I potted the seedlings from the little plastic cups into 1lt pots. As I did this, I mixed in the feed that I'm using with this round of girls. It's Grow Dots, which I've never used before. But I have heard a lot about them thanks to Scotty Real from the DGC. He certainly rates the highly, but they are his product 😂. So I weighed out and mixed 3g per litre of medium for each pot. Mostly into the bottom half for the roots to go hunting for. I hope this stuff works well as I've got a big bag of the stuff. It's supposed to last through 4 weeks of veg & 8 weeks of flower. But I've only used it at 3/4 recommend strength, to be on the safe side. I will keep a close eye on the girls and if they how signs of hunger then I will top up with some gentle feeding. The only other thing that was used at transplant was some benificals. Namely Psycho Myco. I never fail to have a bit of this stuff around in my grow. It's nice to find a product that once you use it, you can see a real effect from it. I use it every transplant. So my reservoir was filled to test out the new toy. But not real NPK value to the solution As the food is in the soil. I added some kelp by Raw Nutrients Some Nordic Rooter & some Mono Silicic Acid from Grow genius. Another miracle product and no mistake. I'd always used silicon of one sort of another. But I never really felt the benefits until I switched to Mono Silicic, look into it. I think there are a few versions available now. It's expensive, but used in tiny amounts, doesn't mess with the PH levels & really does the job. I've reached some decisions about what the plan is with these plants. Of the 19 in 1lt pots, 4-6 of them will go into autopots and the tray to grow & be flowered in the 1.2x1.2 tent. While they are doing their thing, the other plants will be vegged to fill the 1.2x2.4 tent. These will be in Autopots and AC infinity wick systems. I will flip them to flower at about week 5 of the first tent. I will hold 1 plant back to keep vegging throughout. Then when the small tent becomes free again. I will flower the last plant, which should have a tent filling canopy by then. Hopefully. Or it will be a close approximation of this plan. Running along side this I have also popped 3 regular seeds of Original Blueberry by Dutch passion. Hopefully find myself a nice make to get some pollen from and stick it to a few branches in the not to distant future. I think that's it for this update. No, it's not🤦 I'm my veg tent is a 20lt pot with 3 autoflowers in it. I know that sounds a stupid idea, your right, it absolutely is. But there is a good reason for it. But the explanation will have to wait for the next update as I'm almost at my train stop. In closing, plants good, result with the nutrients & a new toy for my little grow. Stay lucky growers 👊 as an after thought, I've come back to edit and share a picture of what I'm smoking today. sadly, not grown by me, only enjoyed. Punchsicle (by Ghost Drops) ❤️👊
